My Ghostly Romance - Chapter 37
2 years later.
Before 6 pm, the sky was already pitch-black. The moon was already up in the sky while stars silently twinkled in the night. The clouds hang low like candy just right above the children’s heads and ready for them to pick it.
Inside an apartment, the light in the bedroom flickered on and off as if a child played a prank on it. The owner of this apartment – Yang Mi, had just got out of the bathroom after taking an hour of leisure bath in the tub.
If an ordinary person were to see the light flickering on and off without any reason, they would’ve surely throw strings of curses from their mouths as they scream and dash for outside for solace and comfort.
But Yang Mi, who was already used to this scene, walked to the nightstand where the table lamp was. She stared at the light flickering a few more times and sighed.
She reached towards the wire and unplugged.
“Please stop playing with the light. It’d be dangerous if you set a fire and you’re not paying my house bills.” She stared directly at the ghost sitting on her bed.
The ghost: “…”
“And do not sit or lay on my bed without my permission. What happens if my parents came for a visit and saw you there?”
The ghost croaked as it opened its mouth, “Your… parents… never came to visit.”
“Aiyaa… that’s right. But that’s beyond the point. I don’t want your blood on my bed.” Yang Mi complained. “Now, shoo!”
The ghost who was supposed to scare the young lady before him was thrown to the ground.
Soon after he was treated like a bag of rice, the cabinet and table lamp he was playing with earlier, as well as several other things inside the room, were lifted in the air. The light in the ceiling also flickered on and off. A screeching sound like nails scratching against the blackboard accompanied this bone-chilling scene.
“Put it down.” Yang Mi warned.
“Put it back down now, or I will not let you stay in my house ever again.” She put her hands on her hips as she looked at the ghost condescendingly.
The two of them stared at each other. One was upset for being treated unfairly, while the other was growing impatient.
“I’m warning you again. If I throw you out of my home, you won’t get to watch that football game you love.”
Yang Mi sincerely said. The ghost felt threatened upon hearing this, knowing that he loved watching that football game where Cristiano Ronaldo played. While he was still alive, he was on his way to one of the football player’s games when the airplane he was on suddenly crashed.
Now, he was just a ghost continuing to linger around without any destination.
In the next moment, the ghost finally gave up and reluctantly let go of his spiritual energy. The things that were floating in the air were gently put in their original places.
…
The next day.
Yang Mi walked out of her bedroom after waking up early.
Her phone rang once, and she answered it quickly.
“Where are you?!” the voice from the other end said in a scolding tone.
Yang Mi yawned and replied, “I just woke up. What’s wrong?”
“What’s wrong? Are you kidding me, Yang Mi? Turn on your TV and see what they’re talking about you!”
Yang Mi scratched her head before doing as she was told by her manager and turned on the television. On the small screen, the morning news was reporting about what happened yesterday.
In the news, the reporter said, “It seems that Yang Mi, a third-rate actress, has offended Goddess Ji and threw a cup of juice to his face after they exchanged some words. Next, we will show a clip of Goddess Ji’s comment on this event.”
The screen flashed once, and a beautiful face that anyone in Rao City could recognize was in it. Goddess Ji or Ji Wei Lan was smiling at the camera and was asked by another reporter, “Just yesterday, an unnamed third-rate actress threw a glass of juice to you. What can you say about this? Are you two in a conflict? Did she already apologize for what she has done?”
On TV, Ji Wei Lan laughed and shook her head. “Oh no, Miss Yang’s hand slipped, and the juice accidentally got spilled on my Gucci dress. It was my favorite since it’s a gift from my father and one of the limited editions. However, even if it is like that, I’m not angry at Miss Yang.”
Ji Wei Lan’s voice was gentle, and anyone who could hear it would feel pity for her and her poor dress that was spilled with juice. But at this moment, no one could hear the contempt and the boasting tone in her words. The only thing the viewers and fans could see was that Yang Mi was so rude and disrespectful. She didn’t even apologize after doing that to Goddess Ji.
The reporter: “You’re really kind, Goddess Ji. But are you going to make her pay for your dress?”
“Should I?” Goddess Ji drew her eyebrows together before adding, “But my dress yesterday was worth a few hundred thousand yuan. I don’t think that Yang Mi could afford to pay it.”
Watching this, Yang Mi, who was indirectly called a beggar in the entertainment industry since she couldn’t afford to pay her, nodded her head in agreement.
Yang Mi was now poor. Her money was confiscated last month by her parents after discovering that she was buying items that she never used and gave to others. What they didn’t know was that she bought these things for the ghosts who were chasing after her.
“Are you listening? Did you see how that bitch just used you to elevate her position!” Yang Mi’s manager, Manager Wu Lei, angrily said. “Yang Mi… aren’t you going to defend yourself this time and tell them that she was the first one to say bad things to you? This is the seventh time you were called out and came out in the news.”
“Don’t worry about it, Xiao Lei. It’s not as if this is the first time and I’m gaining new fans on Weibo.” Yang Mi smilingly said as she checked her followers on the site on her computer.
She got 23,000 new fans.
…
Author has something to say: Hahaha, our dear Yang Mi being clueless is so adorable! Didn’t expect she’d become an actress. XDDD
