My Ghostly Romance - Chapter 38
Wu Lei didn’t know if she should let Yang Mi continue this way or should she break it on her? That the fans she gained were not her real fans, but all were black fans ready to tear her apart for as long as they wanted.
With another phone in her other hand, Wu Lei read the comments on Yang Mi’s latest post.
[The Neighbor Sister Flower: Pei! What a faker. Your smile disgusts me so much!]
[Adonis is Gone: So what if you’re prettier than Goddess Ji, the only thing you can do to survive the entertainment world is through hugging someone’s thigh!]
[Aphrodite is Shaking: This lady… are you so tempted to court death every day? Why are you offending so many top-rated actors now? Are you not afraid that you’ll be blacklisted soon?]
[Pretty Overlord: The comment above, what do you mean by blacklisted? She isn’t blacklisted yet?]
[Aphrodite is Shaking: I also don’t know! Don’t ask me! If I were given a chance, I would have already blacklisted her!]
While these black powders* were overwhelming. There are few real fans that also commented.
[Little Bro Jie Jie: Sister Mi, I believe it’s not you who started the fight! It must be that Devil Ji who started it!]
[Shining Armor: Don’t worry, Beauty Mi. We know you’re innocent and won’t do anything like that. We won’t believe whatever that Witch Ji and her armies of creeps say.]
But these positive comments filled with concern and support were soon buried by the thousands of harsh comments bashing them. In no time, the fans collided, and even the fans of the previous actresses whom Yang Mi got involved with in the past soon came wave after wave.
Sighing dejectedly at the sight of this battle live on Weibo, Wu Lei finally logged out of her account and said to the phone, “Yang Mi, be honest with me. Are you perhaps just doing this for fun? But, you know, being an actress and entering the entertainment industry is the same as other professional jobs outside. It isn’t a game.”
Yang Mi took out her favorite potato chips from the cabinet and paused. “I’m not… The reason why the juice was spilled on Ji Wei Lan’s dress was that spirit’s fault.”
Yesterday, when Yang Mi was eating in the Star Studio cafeteria, Ji Wei Lan approached her herself. She sat across her and tried to speak to her. At first, Ji Wei Lan’s words were only just a greeting, but suddenly, they soon turned uglier.
She could still remember how Ji Wei Lan said to her while still using that gentle smile on her lips. “Junior, I really pity you.”
“Why don’t you just quit the company and start working as my assistant? You see, my manager has been lacking sleep because of my hectic schedule and the previous assistant run away with her lover. With your character, you will suit staying by my side.” Ji Wei Lan said.
Yang Mi continued to eat as the other spoke, and when Ji Wei Lan was done, she swallowed her food carefully before saying. “But I want to be an actress. I don’t want to be your assistant.”
“Is it because of the payment the company gave you from your contract?” Ji Wei Lan asked. “I’ll double whatever amount the company promised you.”
Yang Mi’s eyes suddenly narrowed.
From behind Ji Wei Lan, unnaturally pale hands with blue veins suddenly touched the first-rate actress on the shoulder. Then, the air grew colder, and a woman slowly appeared on top of the actress’ shoulders.
Yang Mi glanced at Ji Wei Lan and frowned.
“Are your shoulders in pain?” Yang Mi asked.
Ji Wei Lan wore a shocked look on her face as she laughed it off. “Wha- what are you saying? I’m feeling fine.”
Just after Ji Wei Lan said that the pain she had been feeling for a week now suddenly grew stronger.
“Ah!”
Suddenly Yang Mi said, “That assistant whom you said ran away with her lover. Did you know she died drowning in her own blood? It seems that she has a great hatred for what you did to her. I think it would be better for you to confess to the authorities now before it is too late.”
“What are you talking about? Are you out of your mind?!” Ji Wei Lan’s scolded loudly that everyone in the cafeteria looked in their way. However, the people soon turned around as if they never saw anything and did their own businesses.
Sighing, Yang Mi shook her head in pity.
She didn’t know what exactly did Ji Wei Lan do to this lady ghost with blood dripping her whole body. But she could guess some part of it from their conversation and from the appearance of the ghost.
After eating the last grain of rice on her plate, Yang Mi finally stood up.
The female ghost also reached out her hands. The limb was slowly growing longer and longer like a branch of a tree.
Yang Mi was interested in what the ghost was about to do and thought she might want to shake hands with her. However, before their hands could even touch each other, the ghost’s hand suddenly grabbed Yang Mi’s wrist.
Then, the ghost changed directions by letting her hand hit the unfinished glass of juice.
The glass unsteadily moved before it rolled on the table. The orange juice spilling on the table, and before Ji Wei Lan could react, the juice already fell on her pink Gucci dress.
“You! How dare you!”
The screechy voice of Ji Wei Lan made Yang Mi frown, but she couldn’t stop glaring at the female ghost.
“You’re asking for trouble!” she said to the ghost.
“What did you say?” Ji Wei Lan thought that Yang Mi was talking to her and was even more aggravated. She was about to scold Yang Mi more, but her manager soon came to stop her before she destroys her image.
And thus, that was how Yang Mi was thrown into this chaos.
But the entire story behind this news wasn’t completely released. Only the part where Yang Mi pushed the glass and the parts where Ji Wei Lan looked amiable were put to the media. The other parts were completely cut off before they were uploaded.
