My Ghostly Romance - Chapter 39
Stars Studios.
Inside the dressing room, Ji Wei Lan watched the news playing on her phone screen. A satisfied smile was on her lips as she watched herself speaking gracefully.
“You’ve been watching that clip since this morning. Aren’t your eyes getting tired of it already?” Ji Wei Lan’s manager asked. She threw the paper bags that were brought by Ji Wei Lan’s fans through the receptionist in the lobby to the side.
“Why should I? Can’t you see how beautiful I am in here?” Ji Wei Lin laughed. She was quite happy now that she had caused another actress to fall for her schemes. Just thinking of what Yang Mi’s expression could be right now brought her great excitement.
“There are a few more bags added to the gifts you received today. Aren’t you going to check any one of them?” Mo Yan Yu asked.
Ji Wei Lan threw a glance at the bags that were crowding one side of the room and said in disgust, “Throw them away. There’s nothing expensive in it anyway.” Then, turning to look at her phone again, she added, “And what if a fan who’s sick gave one of those bags there? I don’t want to lose any face and skip my schedule because I got sick!”
Mo Yan Yu shook her head. She already knew that Ji Wei Lan never goes through her gifts and only threw them aside to be collected by the janitors in the company. However, today’s gift was too many than usual.
“Are you sure? What if Yang Mi sent one for you to apologize?”
Hearing that, Ji Wei Lan turned to her manager again and was interested. “She sent one for me?” she said.
Mo Yan Yu shrugged, “Well, she didn’t look like she wanted to leave the entertainment industry. She will surely apologize to you for what she had done yesterday.”
A third-rate actor continued to linger around the industry even after getting involved with several fights with other veteran and top-rated actors. In the entertainment industry’s history, no one has ever seen someone like Yang Mi who could offend so many people in less than a year.
On the contrary, everyone in the Star Studio expected her to get fired the first time she offended that one veteran actor who was the male lead in that movie she was cast on as a side character six months ago.
And yet, even after the movie was premiered, Yang Mi stayed around and even got herself another movie as a side character.
What’s more surprising was that even after a few months has passed and six other actresses and actors got involved with her, Yang Mi could still stand confidently and unashamed as if there was nothing wrong.
“She must’ve done the same thing and sent gifts to these actors and actresses she offended in the past. So why don’t you help me look for it?” Ji Wei Lan also thought of this and felt that it was the most possible answer to the mystery.
She giggled at the notion of getting an apology from Yang Mi and scoffed smugly.
Unfortunately, Ji Wei Lan won’t accept her apology this time, even if Yang Mi begs on her knees and bark like a dog.
But all of these were just the speculation of Mo Yan Yu and Ji Wei Lan.
Yang Mi never apologized to these actors and actresses. Instead, they came after her and asked for forgiveness, which will soon happen to the two of them in a few days.
Lazing around the couch, Yang Mi hummed a creepy song as she played Kingdom of Bones. It has been an hour since she played it, but she died almost a hundred times already, and her teammates even left her after they got tired of telling her what to do.
While playing the game, the middle-aged male ghost staying with her after dying from an airplane crash was also having a great time watching football. He pumped his fist up as his favorite player kicked the ball and scored.
Suddenly, Yang Mi stood up.
She sensed something insidious, but she couldn’t pinpoint where it was coming from or what brought this insidious feeling to linger around the air.
“Can you feel it?” She asked the middle-aged male ghost.
The male ghost paused and tried to feel his surroundings before shaking his head. He didn’t feel that insidious air that passed just now.
Biting her raspberry lips, Yang Mi grabbed her jacket and wallet. She walked to the door and left her apartment with hasty steps.
When she reached the entrance of the apartment complex, she waved the cab coincidentally passing by. In time, her phone rang.
Yang Mi looked down; the one giving her a call was an actor she met three months ago,
“Hello, Senior Gu,” she answered.
“He-help!!! There’s another one here!”
“What do you mean another one?” Yang Mi asked, even though she knew what he was talking about. It was just that, hadn’t the one who’s been haunting him left after she went there to meet that ghost?
So, how could there be another one?
“Did you do something again?” she asked in disbelief.
Gu Wang Ji looked between the small gap in the closet where he was hiding. From his perspective, the once bright room that he stayed in for the night was filled with cold darkness. Anyone would get chicken skin at the sight of it, but that wasn’t what he was looking at.
On the left side, a well-dressed woman was sitting on the bed. Her long black hair was like ink dripping on the bed, and her fair skin was the complete contrast to it. But looking closely at her face, one could see the right eye was hanging on her cheek, and a hole was gaping on her forehead where blood was dripping down.
“Please, come save me.” He said. “I’m in Celestial Cloud Hotel, room number 1013. You have to hu—”
Yang Mi sighed and hurried the driver.
Because the hotel Gu Wang Ji was staying at was relatively close to her apartment, it didn’t take 5 minutes for the cab to arrive quickly.
Yang Mi paid the fare and got off the cab. She wasn’t really worried about Gu Wang Ji, but she still didn’t want the ghost to harm anyone.
She walked into the hotel entrance and went straight to the elevator when she suddenly felt her heart thrumming into a race inside her chest. Her sense of sight suddenly blurred, and she felt lightheaded.
Grabbing on the nearest wall, Yang Mi steadied herself as she shook her head like a wet puppy in the rain, trying to get her senses back. She couldn’t understand what was happening to her. But, she was just fine when she left her house and arrived here using the cab.
But why was it that she was suddenly acting like this?
While Yang Mi leaned herself against the wall, the elevator next to her opened, revealing a tall, handsome man in a blue three-piece suit. His face was angular and looked quite cold.
He stepped out of the elevator and coincidentally faced Yang Mi, who was leaning against the wall.
A tall and handsome man in a blue three-piece suit came out of the elevator next to her. His angular face looked cold, and with his dark eyes that looked like the night sky, one would feel an oppressive aura coming off of him.
The man stepped out of the elevator, and just as he took two steps, he collided with Yang Mi, who was in his way.
Then, the man suddenly stopped in his track.
His eyes were looking at the young lady in front of him with surprise.
…
Author has something to say: Ooh, who’s this mystery handsome man? Is it another character? Or will our lead characters finally meet after 2 years?
