My Hero Academia Shall Know Pain - Chapter 27
“Is that the winner of the sports festival?”
“He looks even scarier up close.”
“I kinda want to ask him for an autograph, but he seems unapproachable.”
Yahiko and Himiko heard several people whispering among themselves as they walked to U.A. They were thankful that they weren’t swarmed, it was way too early for them and dealing with bullshit first thing in the morning isn’t exactly enjoyable. They continued to walk leisurely in a somewhat comfortable silence.
As they walked, they spotted a few of their classmates getting surrounded by large groups of people, one of them being Izuku. Yahiko just ignored him and they eventually arrived at school.
Yahiko walked into the classroom with Himiko by his side, gaining everyone’s attention. They stared at him in complete silence, which was strange considering that Bakugo was also silent. Yahiko soon realized why, Bakugo had a cast around his neck.
‘That’s right, I almost forgot about what I did to him. This should get him to mellow out a little, at least until he’s able to speak again.’ Yahiko thought to himself, his lips curving upwards slightly, but only for a split second.
Bakugo glared at Yahiko, his body was practically overflowing with anger and hatred. He wanted to curse him with every fiber of his being, but he couldn’t, his damaged throat prevented him from doing so. All he could do was grunt hatefully, which was kinda amazing considering he was choked and thrown into a wall.
‘Fuck! I’ll fuċkɨnġ kill you for doing this to me! Just you wait you cyborg freak, when I get my hands on you I’ll turn you into scrap metal!’ Bakugo thought to himself, not learning anything from his ȧss whooping.
Shoto was also thinking about Yahiko, but not hatefully. At first, he was disappointed with himself for not using his left side. But after a few hours of thinking, he realized that even if he did use his left side he still didn’t stand a chance. The devastating attack that formed the largest crater he’s ever seen replayed itself in his head. This caused Shoto to admire Yahiko, but he felt jealous at the same time.
‘If only I were as strong as him…’ Shoto thought as he silently vowed to push himself even further with training.
“Hey Yahiko-kun, did you get mobbed by people while you were walking to school like us?” Ochako asked curiously while receiving worried glances from the rest of the class.
‘Is she trying to get herself killed!?’ Everyone stared at Himiko, who glared at Ochako.
“No, they didn’t approach me.” Yahiko stated as he walked past her with Himiko, sitting down at his desk.
She was about to continue their one sided conversation but Aizawa had arrived and told them to get to their seats.
“Alright class, today we will be be doing something special. You will be picking your hero names.” Aizawa said. he seemed a little less monotone then usual.
This made the previously silent class burst out in excitement. The mood changed so quickly that it almost surprised Yahiko. Aizawa told them to settle down and proceeded to tell us that it also involved our nominations. He explained why it was so important and showed us the amount of offers each of them received.
It surprised Yahiko, he knew that he would receive a lot of offers but this exceeded his expectations. He didn’t think that he would get more offers then canon Shoto had.
Himiko also had a fair number of nominations, about 400 to be exact. The reason she got so many without even demonstrating her quirk is because Nezu told the other pro heros her quirk beforehand, and they were really impressed that she was able to beat people that did use their quirks. Most of the nominations she got were from underground heros like Aizawa, they knew that it would be useful for infiltrating and surprising the enemy.
Midnight barged in while Aizawa was still explaining what they will do over at their dėsɨrėd agencies and she took over from there. She gave the class some whiteboards and told them that they had fifteen minutes to pick a name, the class went into a little brainstorming session to try to figure out what their hero names would be.
‘I wonder what name Himiko will choose, she refused to tell me so this should be interesting.’
“Time’s up! Who wants to show their hero name first?”
Aoyama came up first and showed the class his name, which was even more sparkly then I remembered. Then the rest of the class introduced their hero names while Midnight accepted or rejected them, except Bakugo didn’t yell so he just grunted angrily. Now it’s Himiko’s turn.
“Ghoul, that’s my hero name.” She said with a large grin and a mild blush on her face.
‘Ghoul huh? Reminds me of the anime Tokyo Ghoul, I wonder if anyone has a quirk that works similarly.’ Yahiko thought as he prepared to up to the podium.
“That’s a really good name and it fits you perfectly, I approve! Who’s next?”
“Pain.” He declared his name to his classmates, who were slightly confused.
“Why would you want a name like that?” Jiro questioned, gaining Yahiko’s attention. She quickly avoids his gaze, afraid that she might’ve made him angry. Yahiko simply looks at Bakugo, which causes everyone else to follow his line of sight and understand the reason why he chose his name.
“Hmm, do you really want a name like that?” Midnight asked, concerned that he might regret it later.
“If I didn’t want it then I wouldn’t have wrote it down.” Yahiko said.
“Okay then, Pain it is. Now that I think about it, it’s kinda kinky.” Midnight said while looking at Yahiko, thinking that there’s some sort of sėxuȧŀ innuendo in his hero name.
‘Why is she a teacher?’ Yahiko thought as he walked back to his seat.
“Now you will be choosing which hero agency to intern for, you have two days to choose so take your time.” Midnight said as she passed out the lists with the agencies that asked for them.
‘I already have Aizawa so I don’t really have to look through these.’
“Where is he!”
‘Huh? Wait, I recognize that voice… Shit.’
“Um Yahiko, we have a problem.” Aizawa said as he looked out the door.
He saw a certain rabbit hero opening all the doors and looking over at all the students while completely ignoring the staff that were trying to stop her.
The classes were confused, they were just going pick which agency to intern for but something unexpected happened again. Himiko went on high alert, her Himiko senses were tingling again. Aizawa just looks at Yahiko and silently prayed for him and secretly smiled to himself, he didn’t have to fulfill his favor now.
“Yahiko! Fight me! You have balls don’t you? Come out!” Mirko yelled out, gaining a sigh from Yahiko and the full attention of all the other students.
“There you are, I’ve been looking for you! Come on, we have business. You guys have a training area, show me so we could fight without worry.” Mirko said with a grin, she had to stop herself from immediately attacking him again.
“Do I have to fight you? I’m not a complete battle junkie like you, so we should do this another time.” Yahiko tried to get rid of her with words, but she completely ignored most of them and only heard the words ‘battle junkie’ come out of his mouth.
“Ah, I see your a man of culture as well. Fellow battle junkies should help each other out when we have our urges, it gets kinda hard to control myself sometimes when I come across strong opponents. I had a buddy help keep me in check but I accidentally broke his spine, so you’re my intern now. No more talking, let’s hurry up and go!”
She walked over to Yahiko and attempted to carry him there like the last time they met, but Yahiko had other plans.
“I already chose the pro hero I wanted to work with, it’s Aizawa-sensei. If you want to fight me, you have to beat him first.” Yahiko said as he sidestepped away from her.
“Ehh!?” Almost everyone else in the class said at the same time.
This caused her rabbit ears to perk up and Aizawa’s smile was nowhere to be seen. He sent a glare towards Yahiko before grabbing his arm and quickly excusing himself. Himiko was glaring at Mirko, which caught the rabbit heros attention.
“You have a lot of bloodlust don’t you, wanna fight?” Mirko asked as she narrowed her eyes.
“Looks like I’m having rabbit stew for lunch.” Himiko said as she got up from her seat.
The rest of the class and Midnight had no idea how things escalated so quickly, they were just picking some hero names and this happens.
‘Where’s All Might when you need him?’ They thought as they saw the two of them get into battle stances.
“Achoo! Hm? I feel like someone needs my help, I’ll have to hurry and finish my crossword puzzle..” All Might said to himself as he looked back to his newspaper, he only had two words filled out.
