My Journey Of Hunter X Hunter - Chapter 29
NOTE: Filler chapter (Part 3)
Feeling the power rising inside of me, I raise my arm up and aim for the Bigata guy. Before I shot an immense amount of dark energy, I notice Bigata smirk.
Giving off an immense energy beam from my right arm, I just about spot Bigata vanish into thin air.
After watching a faraway tree fall down in slow motion due to my blast, I glance around for Bigata, seeing that he’s nowhere to be seen.
“Where could he be?” I ask myself.
Looking down, I see the other members of the group staring right up at me.
“Hey, are you gonna come down here?!” One of the members shout.
“Why should I do that?” I reply back.
“I don’t know. Our boss is gone for now, who knows where, and I thought why not get to know you better.”
“No thanks. You’re the bad guys here.” I say.
“What? We’re the bad guys?” A big fella cries out from his sleep.
“No, of course not Tenrin, go back to sleep.” The guy tries to calm him down.
“But that cool guy over there said-”
“We’re not and Mizami will explain exactly why.” He looks over to one of the 3 girls in the group.
“Me? Well, um, we’re just following our boss’ orders but individually we’re not bad guys. To be honest, I don’t want to kill anyone else anymore, I just want to have some friends.” Her eyes get awfully teary, like you see the characters do in anime when they’re emotional.
“Me neither.” The big guy name Tenrin joins in the water fest.
Both the girl and the big guy cry buckets full of tears from their eyes. The other guy I was speaking to looks kind of annoyed at them.
Feeling bad for them, I step off the branch of the tree that I’m standing on and land safely next to the group.
“Look you’re not bad, as I can see, I just assumed you were bad guys because of what you, or rather, your boss was planning to do with the fact that this is not your first time you have assassinated people.” I say.
“It isn’t” A voice speaks into my ear and I jolt out of the way.
“Ha ha. It’s only me.” I stare at Bigata as he smiles at me whilst twirling a single leaf in the air.
“Boss?” The big fella says.
“Don’t worry. We’re all good now. I promise not to hurt anyone anymore, how about that?” He tells me.
“Yeah right. As if I’ll believe those sarcastic words of yours.” I grunt doubtfully.
“I know exactly what you mean. You can’t trust a guy you just thought, right? How about this, put up with me for only one night and then take your complaint up for discussion with my Boss tomorrow? How does that sound?”
“Your Boss? So you’re not the mastermind behind the plan?”
“No, well, not all of it. Most of the main plan comes from the Higher Boss but I help to glue the pieces to the puzzle. That’s why I can’t take all of the credit, since I’m not entirely responsible.”
I think. Today I’ve been able to tap into a new power of mine but I’m not even sure if it’s enough to defeat someone like Killua, or Hisoka or Bisky-san or even Netero…or even the Chimera ants. So, I’m hoping Bigata’s Boss is a right old softie and won’t kill me as soon as he lays his eyes on me.
“But what makes you so sure that I’ll spend the night sleeping next to my enemy?” I ask.
“You don’t have to stay here. We’ll be camping over there, near the bushes, so you can sleep in the tree or in one of the tents we have for you.”
Mulling over the idea, I decide to take refuge up the tree, for my safety.
Before heading off, Mizami calls me.
“Wait. We still don’t know what your name is.”
“…Just call me Freeze Kill.” I say confidently.
Now that’s what I call a comeback.
Sun. Blazing on my skin.
Wind. Breezing through my hair.
Branch. Piercing through my back.
Sound. Telling me that I’m needed.
“Freezy? Oh Freezy! Wake up! It’s time to go!” Mizami calls out.
“Huh? I raise my head, sleepily.
“Hey Freeze. Down here.”
Glancing down, I see everyone waiting for me with their bags full of personal belongings.
Sighing quietly, I raise my body and jump down, joining the gang with some heart, good old berry juice.
If you’re wondering why I still haven’t had my number tag taken away from me, it’s because I hid it cleverly inside the tree I was on so even if someone were to search in the night, they wouldn’t find my badge.
“How long will it be, roughly, until we reach the Higher Boss?” I ask, half an hour later.
“Just forty more minutes.” Bigata answers.
“Actually, it’s 42 minutes and 59 seconds exactly. We have to go straight for 13 minutes and 16 seconds then take a 40 degree curve tot he right and walk for 16 minutes and 30 seconds before taking a sharp left and going straight for 13 minutes and 13 seconds to our destination…” One of the more quieter members of the group talks.
“And there goes Mr. Big Brain. The Mastermind behind Mathematics.” Markban comments.
“Enough chit chat, let’s pick up the pace.” Bigata tells everyone.
We’ve arrived at the Higher Boss’ place and it looks nothing like I had imaged on my way here.
“Welcome to Big Boss Henzinman’s lair Since their working hours are so valuable, I’ll let you go in and talk with them.” Bigata gestures over at me.
“Wait. By myself?”
“Yes. It would be a nuisance if all of us were to go in together, that’s why you must go in alone since you’re the only one who has any business with Henzinman.”
He’s not wrong but I wasn’t expecting to go alone. Ah well, I have to be brave and face this on my own, otherwise I just be deemed a wimp.
Exhaling nervously, I step into the den and mentally prepare to face my destiny.
