My Journey Of Hunter X Hunter - Chapter 35

“Hey, wake up.” One of the contestants wakes me up.

“Huh?” I say, rubbing my eyes, trying to figure out where I am again.

“We’re here.” The same contestant says.

“Oh right.” I answer, getting up and brushing any debris off myself.

We walk to where we need to be in with Netero and wait for the last Phase of the Hunter Exam to commence.

The Chairman explains to us that in order to pass we only need one win and the losers will move up the bracket until one applicant fails. This is so there are eight new Hunters.

As chairman Netero keeps on giving information, I keep staring at the match ups that were picked. I nod thoughtfully as I see that I’m not in the fighting bracket at all!

Whilst Gon and the bald Hanzo guy begin to start their fight, I move silently over to Netero and ask him why I’m not on the bracket.

“Meet me after the contestants are chosen. Your fight will happen then.” He answers back.

“Huh?” I think as I walk away and back to my place. What does he mean for my fight? Am I not fighting with one of the people here? Also, who am I fighting then?

I look over to the fight and see the Gon all battered up.

“Don’t worry Leorio…this is nothing.” Gon huffs as he places his hands on his knees, trying to find a way to counter attack Hanzo’s moves, however, Hanzo swipes his leg round Gon’s legs which makes him fall defeatedly down to the ground.

I wince at the sight, knowing how much pain he must be in.

The Hanzo guy goes down to Gon and says that he’s going to break his arm.

The whole atmosphere in the big room goes dark and distressing.

I forgot how the last phase of the Hunter Exam went but I think I’m reminded again by being here in reality.

“I’m not joking so give up. Surrender.” The Hanzo guy says.

This is giving me very weird vibes.

“Never!” Gon shouts out.

Hanzo moves Gon’s arm in a way meaning to break it which a huge ‘CRACK’ can be heard.

The atmosphere becomes silent.

I don’t blame him. I also feel an immense feeling of rage inside me that wants the fighting to stop but I can’t do anything. If I heard correctly, the guards said that if anyone interferes in anyone else’s fights, the person fighting will be disqualified so there’s nothing Leorio, I or anyone can do but watch Gon trying to beat his rival.

Hanzo starts talking about his backstory and everything about him which probably bores everyone over (including me) then, Gon kicks him which send the Hanzo guy down. He gets up and threatens to chop Gon’s legs and kill him. All in all, Gon used his cleverness and outsmarted Hanzo, making Hanzo surrender and make Gon the winner.
