My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar - Chapter 213
Seeing the burly captain of the patrol approaching him made Yun Duritz feel quite unsettled visibly, seeing how he didn’t feel well with the captain approaching him, the man took two steps backward and asked surprised:
“Duritz, you still remember me, don’t you? We were friends in our childhood.”
Yun Duritz moved his head from side to side as he clutched it while he looked at the man.
This made the patrol captain feel something wasn’t right as he tried to approach him again and said:
“It’s me, Lin Lang, you really can’t remember me?”
“Not really… I just know that I had to enter the door that was calling me, I don’t know you, I actually don’t know where I am…”
Lin Lang looked at Duritz and analyzed him but there was no mistake, he looked exactly like the young prince he used to hang out with back when he didn’t have so many things to do, his father was a strong general under the former leader of the city so he was quite close with Duritz, they could almost be counted as cousins.
Seeing that he was forgotten made him quite sad as he tried to pat Duritz on the shoulder but the man took two steps backward with a strange look on his face as he looked into Lin Lang’s eyes.
“It’s true… it seems you can’t remember me but it makes sense if you consider the circumstances you have been through, your cultivation didn’t even increase much since you left and it been such a long time, you should have reached at least the God Realm up till now no matter how poor the resources of the mortal realm were…”
Yun Duritz took a step towards Lin Lang and asked with a curious tone:
“You know who I am?”
Lin Lang smiled, it seemed that while Duritz lost his memories he was still the same curious man that he ever was Lin Lang guessed that since Duritz couldn’t sense any malice from the troops he decided to trust them considering they talked as if they knew him.
“It seems you haven’t changed much old friend, let’s get you back to the city so you can talk with our older sister as she might be able to retrieve some of your lost memories.”
Yun Duritz took a few steps forward and decided to follow them reluctantly on the surface but inside he was gloating at how easy it was, when he got back to the city he would be able to get his hands on the resources specific to the celestial realm and jump his cultivation speed and in the end, he would take over the whole city creating a base in the celestial realm that he might be able to use in the future to send in his main body.
Time passed pretty slowly as the captain took Yun Duritz and traveled with him to the city of their Lin clan, so to not get bored he decided to try and make him remember some things.
He pointed at a nearby waterfall and whispered to Duritz:
“Remember when we went there to peek at the most beautiful gem in our city, Sun Min?”
Yun Duritz shook his head as he took a closer look at the waterfall and said:
“Was I really a guy that would peek at girls when they bath?”
Lin Lang laughed awkwardly as he continued the journey, it seemed that trying to awaken his memories with his boy memories wouldn’t work.
Then he looked towards the nearby prairie that they were passing and said:
“Remember when you hunted your first animal in the prairie with your dad and my dad?”
Duritz made an expression that looked as if he was remembering something, as he looked at one peculiar rabbit that went by he pointed at it and asked:
“Was it this type of animal?”
Lin Lang face changed as he became disappointed and shook his head as he said:
“No, it was a Three-headed celestial lion, your deceased father was very happy to see that you inherited the strongest bloodline in the family and he declared you a man that day, you really can’t remember? When we talked after we returned to the city you said that you would never forget that day because it was the day you were given the title of man by your father directly, you were also appointed as the direct prince and descendant of the Lin guarding family of the east.”
“That truly sounds important… but I cannot remember it, maybe something really strange happened to me while I was in the mortal realm?”
“You wouldn’t know the first half of it brother Duritz… if I could get my hands on that traitorous snake Yuan Fang I would surely torture him for 10,000 years!”
Yun Duritz knew what was going through Lin Lang’s mind at the moment, it was obvious as he glared at nothing while spacing out for a few seconds on their journey.
After a few hours of traveling, they finally reached the city where they were immediately ushered into the biggest house after the guards at the entrance of the city saw Yun Duritz’s appearance.
As Yun Duritz entered the big house along with Lin Lang he could feel eyes hidden everywhere in the house targeting him, most of them were surprised, and there were very few who were glad and there were also some that gave off the impression that resembled hatred and disappointment.
Yun Duritz walked further into the house until he reached a special place where the tall blonde haired heavy-set woman was, she was sitting on a chair made specifically for her big frame, when she saw Duritz her eyes started to water up as she quickly ran towards him and gave him a bone-crushing hug as she cried out:
“Lil broooooo, I missed you so much, you even made me take over as the descendant of the family because you have been kidnapped by that insidious fellow! Don’t ever leave your big sis again!”
Yun Duritz felt his strong bones actually cracking the moment this woman put her full strength in the hug, her body refining rate was capped at the 10,000 ranks and her cultivation base was at the middle stages of the God Realm!
Yun Duritz face started to turn blue as his oxygen supply was cut off by the strong hug and seeing that this was happening made the woman give up on her hug as she said:
“It seems you haven’t grown strong at all under the lead of that guy, but it’s obvious he must have sealed your cultivation so you wouldn’t have overtaken his cultivation base, our Lin clan had prided itself over our cultivation base and strong bodies since our creation, how could that common-born Yuan Fang control you forever?”
Lin Lang coughed a bit as he approached her and told her what happened and how Duritz didn’t have his memories anymore.
The woman frowned as she looked at Duritz and pondered for a few seconds before saying:
“It seems you have injured your soul quite a bit if you lost all of your memories to escape from the grasp of Yuan Fang’s technique, even though he couldn’t get the whole inheritance of the Heavenly Celestial God he did get one core doctrine from it… along with the most important technique of his quickest subordinate.”
Yun Duritz’s ears started to move as he heard the mention of a title, the strong expert’s technique must have been the reason that Yuan Fang had improved so much both in personality and world view, this Heavenly Celestial guy must have surely been an evil cultivator to influence the good-loving Yuan Fang to become as evil as Yun Jhin.
“Anyways since you are back with us it doesn’t matter anymore, your big sis Lin Luan Leng will help you get your memories back, and if the damage is too big to be repaired we shall just make some new ones.”
She started to laugh boisterously as she slapped Yun Duritz’s shoulder and continued:
“First let’s try our favorite game since childhood, maybe it will trigger your repressed memories.”
Yun Jhin felt that something was fishy when she was talking about repressed memories, a person wouldn’t repress their memories unless they were too traumatic for the psyche to handle… what did this woman do to the original Duritz?
A second later he found out as he was face planted on the ground and her whole body was put on his back, his left arm was put behind his back as she took a hold of it and pushed it to the right side:
“Say, uncle!”
Yun Duritz wanted to say uncle but her weight wasn’t anything easy to endure as his air was practically flattened out of his lungs, he tried to take in a deep breath only for piercing pain to appear in his chest, some of his ribs were broken due to her weight!
Lin Luan laughed as she said with a reminiscing tone:
“It seems you are as enduring as in your childhood even though I’m going easy on you, let’s continue until you say, uncle!”
In this situation, Yun Duritz didn’t know if to laugh or to cry.
