My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar - Chapter 226
Markus got his mouth a little bit closer to Yun Jhin’s ear as he started to whisper his plan, however, nothing came out of his mouth as he used a transmission technique to send all of the information directly to Yun Jhin’s brain.
“What’s with the posturing if you were going to use a transmission technique anyways…”
“Here’s how things will go, I will withhold all help from the central region when you attack the other guarding regions, all you have to do is destroy the portal restrictions so you can let those from the mortal realm and hell flood into the celestial realm, very easy right? Even if your cultivation base is rather low your body should be enough to defeat them.”
“But prince Markus… why?”
“Again with the why’s, can’t you be a good minion and do what you are ordered to?”
“I just want to know prince Markus.”
“Ok I will tell you but you will have to sign a contract so you won’t be able to disclose anything that you have learned now.”
A puff of smoke appeared as Markus clapped his hands and a contract made from red paper appeared.
Yun Jhin took a look at the contract and realized that it was made from a special skin conglomeration and that was why the ‘paper’ was red.
If Yun Jhin broke the contract he would be cursed and all of the destiny in his body would be siphoned into the dynasty.
He made sure he had read it correctly a few times before making sure there are no hidden penalties in the contract before signing it.
The contract disappeared in a plume of red clouds as Markus put his hands together put on a fake smile and decided to explain to him why he was doing this, after all, he didn’t want a confused minion who would doubt his words, at this point he wouldn’t be able to force him to do anything and when he said that he wouldn’t be able to leave the palace alive he didn’t realize how strong Yun Jhin actually was.
“The reason is very simple… I want to be emperor!”
It was such a cliche reason and Yun Jhin couldn’t even think why the man would want to dethrone the actual Emperor as he was the determining factor that kept the whole celestial realm up and running properly.
Seeing that Yun Jhin was both puzzled and flabbergasted at the prospect of dethroning the actual Emperor made Markus shook his head as he said:
“I’m one of the older children of the emperor and there is a chance that I won’t be able to inherit the throne before the Emperor dies, its unknown how much time he still has left in him but his body is currently weakening.”
“However it doesn’t matter as his soul willpower will continue living on which means that I will never be able to become Emperor during my natural lifespan.”
“Does it really matter if you are Emperor or not as long as the dynasty is prosperous?”
“Of course it does! My dream since I was little was to sit on the seat of the Emperor’s throne but realizing that it was an impossible dream made me boil with anger and resent my immortal father, the dynasty continued to flourish but my happiness was nowhere, I always thought about, why am I unhappy when the citizens are happy? Why am I hating every moment that I live as a prince… even though I have power and authority that rival the Emperor? Am I crazy that I want a title that wouldn’t help anyone much, even me?”
“The answer was no… I only craved something because I didn’t have it, even though I’m near the peak I’m not at it, I just want more because there is more to have, its only human nature that I’m following and I found that I’m not wrong…”
Yun Jhin nodded, this man was similar to him, both wanted more because there was more, he wanted to be Emperor while Yun Jhin wanted eternal life, the goals weren’t similar but the ways they wanted to achieve them were practically the same, without any care about anyone!
“I guess I could help your majesty to achieve your dream, to be frank with you I’m an avid follower of the martial path, and cultivation breakthroughs are what I want the most If I could get more destiny after I have done my missions I would be the most grateful.”
“Hahahaha, very good Lin Duritz, very good.”
“Since you have accepted let me give you a more in detail explanation.”
Markus started to explain how the peak god realm experts would surely be tempted the moment the gates would appear and they will go in regardless of the consequences.
So the moment a bunch of foreign peak God Realm experts made themselves visible the Emperor would surely awaken and quicken his body’s decay, even though he was half a step into the other realm once his body was lost his power would surely decline, and while he might be able to take care of a Peak God Realm expert in a 1v1 situation what if a dozen ganged upon him?
A soul without a body was certainly weaker by about 20-30% and if you considered the fact that The Soul Emperor was extremely old meant that his power should be ebbing around now, as a universal wonder he didn’t reincarnate since the universe had been created so his age couldn’t really be known nor calculated.
So just like all old things he would start to expire, Hell’s willpower didn’t have that problem as it didn’t have a body but it was also weaker than when the universe was created.
“Ok now that you know everything ready up your army and invade the western family and capture it first, make it as quickly as possible so they wouldn’t be able to send any news to the other families.”
Yun Jhin saluted and left the palace then met up with Luan and Lang before leaving the capital and central area altogether.
They got back to the eastern area where they went back to their city, there Yun Jhin rallied up a moderately sized army that he trained personally, as he was connected with their souls he could give them mental training and teach them techniques pretty quickly.
Since they were under his complete control he taught them his patented stealth technique and created a perfect assassination death squad corps!
He had already got a map of the whole celestial realm after he took over the Lin family so he knew where the western family was.
The western family was called the Kun family and they were proficient in medical techniques, this was the reason they were one of the weaker families while the Lin family was weaker because they were a battle maniac family that was battle starved.
The Kun family headquarters were a little bit different compared to the Lin family’s, the Lin family wasn’t that proficient in anything if it wasn’t battle-related so Yun Jhin easily snuck in and took care of the whole family.
However, he could see that the Kun family was proficient in formations from the huge pulsating energy that surrounded their place, being proficient in both medicine and formations showed that the Kun family was worthy of the guardian title.
Yun Jhin didn’t want to scare nor alert the family so he was currently waiting at the entrance of the family with his troops all in stealth, waiting for any disciple to leave the family so he could interrogate them and see if there was any way to break through the formation. Unfortunately, even with all of his knowledge in formations he didn’t really know what type of defensive formation the one in front of him was, it was mostly due to it being from a different branch of formation compared to the ones in the Lin family and the mortal realm, Yun Jhin was actually quite impressed with the quality of the formation and he wanted to study the blueprints of the formation and whatever knowledge on formations the Kun family got.
It actually took a lot more waiting than Yun Jhin wanted, they stood there in stealth for around 30 days before one disciple left the barrier and started to quickly run towards the direction of the capital.
Yun Jhin easily intercepted him as he jumped down from the tree he was hiding in soundlessly, grabbed him by the neck, and jumped up back in the three with him in tow.
The disciple was scared, he wore a white robe with a red cross on the front of it with the Kun family name’s inscribed on the back.
“Let me go right to business, how do we disable the formation?”
The man trembled as he kept his mouth shut not wanting to betray his family.
Yun Jhin shook his head, he was just a sage realm expert, he didn’t want to waste his time with soul scourging but since he didn’t want to say anything Yun Jhin clamped his hands on the man’s skull and forcefully removed all of his memories.
Yun Jhin frowned as he got the knowledge on how to turn off the formation, but he needed to be inside the formation for that to happen and anyone without the bloodline of the Kun family would make the formation react sending an alert to the patriarch of the family.
The patriarch’s strength wasn’t that high, ki cultivation wise he was at the same level as Yun Jhin which meant that Yun Jhin would wipe the floor with him even if he fought against 10-20 or even 50 of them at the same time.
However the formation was too wide and too strong so if he didn’t turn it off there was a high chance he would be entrapped by it, while he wouldn’t die his troops wouldn’t have an easy time and they would be annihilated.
If no reinforcements came from the capital to capture him it would trigger a series of events where the 3 other families would rebel making the Emperor awaken and the whole plan would be destroyed.
Yun Jhin had his own plan based on prince Markus’s plan so he needed to go along with his for some time until he could put his to work.
For now, he had to make up a way to break through the formation surrounding the Kun family’s headquarters.
