My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar - Chapter 227
Yun Jhin was currently overlooking the whole formation from the high ground trying to find a way that he could breach the formation and storm the headquarters, if he could get in he would make sure he captured every family member down to the babies.
He couldn’t let anyone leave after he broke the barrier and he had a plan, it was fairly simple and it involved another mind-controlled victim since the first person was dead he needed to wait for another Kun family person to get out, it was unfortunate that he had passed away so suddenly, as he still had some uses but Yun Jhin already messed up his soul by forcefully snatching his memories…
Well, he could feel that the place was full of life force which meant it had a pretty good population so he could wait for another person to leave the formation bounds so he could capture them.
He already left someone back at the eastern portal to destroy the restrictions on it on his command, he wanted to destroy all of the restrictions at the same time to create an invasion coming from all directions.
Yun Jhin’s waiting proved fruitful as another disciple from the family left the bounds of the formation, but this time he didn’t rush anywhere as he warily looked around, it seemed the Kun family had something that notified them of the first disciple’s death and this next one was meant to scout out for the danger and confirm that they were getting attacked by humans or by beasts.
The disciple was rather flustered as he looked around, it was obvious he was a low-level grunt in the organization and he was only sent out because if he died nothing of value would be lost.
This complicated things for Yun Jhin a bit as useless cannon fodder like the person here wouldn’t really be allowed around the core of the formation, which needed to be accessed to be turned off.
But he could work around this with his skills, he could even impart him some of his cultivation techniques just like he did to the others and sneak into the core, all he needed was the formation to not react to him, and considering he came out of it with no problems he should be able to get right back in with no problems.
Yun Jhin’s silhouette disappeared as he jumped down from the tree and melded with his surroundings, appearing behind the unsuspecting scout and striking a blow to the back of his head making him fall unconscious to the ground where he scooped him up and disappeared together.
He arrived a few hundreds of meters away from the formation where he immediately subjugated the weak mind of the scout before sending him down from the tree they were currently in.
The scout went down the tree and walked back to the headquarters as if nothing happened.
The scout’s name was Kun Kong and his cultivation base was at the 1st stage of the sage realm.
He wasn’t actually a scout but a small apprentice at the apothecary shop in the city that was the Kun family’s headquarters.
Considering they were a family made up of mostly medical practitioners the business at the apothecary shop was booming, the sole reason Kun Kong was let to be the scout was that the apothecary shop was near the exit of the city and that as was mentioned before he was only a small apprentice and thus disposable.
It was a surprise when he came back and reported that there were actually no beasts nor attackers outside but this made the people inside the city more vigilant, they didn’t think that Kun Kong was a traitor or anything like that but that their enemies were smarter than they let on.
They still weren’t sure if they were humans or intelligent beasts but their guards were as up as they could get.
Yun Jhin could see through Kun Kong’s eyes and he scoffed at them no matter how guarded they were they would be slaughtered like sheep.
At first, Kun Kong did his job as he was instructed until the night fell and he left for home so he could go and cultivate… but unlike the usual where Kun Kong would go home this time he just disappeared as he used Yun Jhin’s stealth technique and started to move towards the formation core.
The location of the formation core wasn’t a secret for the higher ranked and middle-ranked inhabitants of the Kong family, fortunately, the person that Yun Jhin got his information from could be considered an apprentice to a rather known doctor in the family so he had some knowledge about the formation even though it couldn’t be said that he knew much about it.
But even the small amount of information that he knew was pretty much golden to Yun Jhin!
Kun Kong sneaked towards a heavily guarded palace where he simply just slipped in through the guards and disappeared inside.
A winding maze appeared in front of Kun Kong’s eyes which Yun Jhin analyzed and sent a command to Kun Kong’s soul on how to solve, Kun Kong then walked directly through the maze walls according to another one of Yun Jhin’s techniques.
In the end, he reached the last room where the formation core was, all formation cores were either bound up to an item, person or location and in this case, the core was bound to an item.
Kun Kong saw the core of the formation which was a small white bell made from white painted ceramic.
There was no one around the bell, at least on the surface because the moment Kun Kong put a foot in the room where the bell was located his stealth was naturally turned off by unknown methods.
Kun Kong’s grasp on the technique wasn’t as good as Yun Jhin’s even though Yun Jhin imparted the technique directly his talent affected his comprehension and combined with his low cultivation base made him a failure.
Yun Jhin frowned as he saw his technique be undone and felt a presence approaching him through their soul connection.
“Huh? Who are you and what are you doing here?”
It was a special guard that was stationed here to protect the formation core, up till now it didn’t see or sense Kun Kong but the moment his stealth turned off he was easily identified, the guard came up in front of Kun Kong and narrowed his eyes as he said:
“This isn’t a place for civilians, I’m not even sure how you got here, what are the guys outside doing letting you enter?”
Kun Kong kept his head down and shook seemingly frightened, the guard came a little bit closer to him and analyzed his body language before sighing:
“You got here by accident? It’s ok you won’t be punished, let’s get you out of here.”
Suddenly the shaking body of Kun Kong started to expand so fast that the guard couldn’t react in time, the body exploded into a shower of rays of light and blood as the chunks of meat and organs exploded as well after a few seconds, just like timed bombs.
The white ceramic bell cracked in half and broke while the guard survived with only some third-degree burns that were already starting to heal.
His eyes were wide as two saucer plates as he looked at the broken bell, he knew that he fucked up and his post would surely be taken away from him!
Yun Jhin smiled as he saw the barrier protecting the city starting to disperse by itself and did some hand seals as his assassination squad jumped directly into the city and went to work!
Fires started to appear as the squad incinerated houses and people to create pandemonium, making it easier to kill and enslave.
Yun Jhin was taking in all of the sights of suffering and killings happening all around him as he slowly walked towards the highest building in the city, he waited a few seconds as a middle-aged man and an old man flew out of the building with both anger and fear on their faces.
The moment they saw Yun Jhin they knew that he was the main culprit, he was already flaring his aura and his body was in battle mode.
Yun Jhin didn’t have any time to talk with these people so he immediately appeared between them and backhanded each of them directly into the ground below, the moment they touched the ground two green small balls of energy touched their bodies then expanded into two supernovas that exploded on contact almost destroying their physical bodies directly!
Two gigantic holes were created due to the attack, smoke and debris were still in the air as Yun Jhin peered into the two big holes and tried to sense if there was still any life in them.
Seeing that there were still two weak sparks of life coming from the holes made him accelerate down like an eagle trying to sweep up some food as he wanted to capture them and enslave them, while he easily defeated them, it was mostly because they weren’t fighters, while Yun Jhin didn’t need their medical expertise it couldn’t be said the same about those under him.
