My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar - Chapter 230
As Yun Jhin raised his hand to the sky a mental field arose that engulfed the whole settlement of the Chen family.
Anyone who still lived in the surroundings was immediately subjugated by Yun Jhin’s mental field becoming his slaves.
He shook his head as he started to walk towards the building where the two sisters popped out from.
There he took a small scroll out of the ground as he used a particular technique that he had gained from the memories of the sisters.
He opened the scroll and took a look over the technique there, it was useable by everyone and it was the original which meant Yun Jhin could teach it to everyone properly while teaching through the soul link was fast things wouldn’t always end up good, this way with the original technique he would be able to impart them his enlightenment and the original parts coming from the scroll would help them better, everyone had their own dao and understanding of the technique if they used Yun Jhin’s understanding problems could arise.
Yun Jhin didn’t have this problem as he could dissect the technique from the memories of the sister duo and then get his own understanding of the technique but his weaker subordinates needed that.
Yun Jhin decided to stay at the Chen family until all of his subordinates got the technique under their control then they would attack the Han family, any improvements for their battle power would be helpful in the final subjugation attempt.
From what he realized by comparing the families between them the Han family would have stronger people than the Chen family and a formation equal to the one of the Kun family, all they would lack would be a good bloodline.
However, the bloodline wasn’t really needed in their situation.
Yun Jhin mediated on mulled on the body technique as well for some time before he called everyone and left after they had made sure everyone learned the technique properly.
The northern region was quite far away from the southern region as they were opposites, they had to fly and teleport for around 2 months before they reached the northern frontier.
The north was freezing cold, snow and ice could be seen everywhere, the coldness seeped into one’s bones to the point that they would get crystalized if they were too weak to withstand it, however, unlike the heats in the south the ki barrier would be able to defend against the coldness here.
Thus it was an easier post to mane compared to the south.
Not everyone had the time nor the resources to cultivate their body, also they needed an appropriate technique to do so.
Yun Jhin’s vision through the snow was perfect but it couldn’t be said the same about his followers so he had to waste some time to guide them but in the end, they finally reached the depths of the northern frontier where they found the bastion that held the Han family members.
It was a gigantic fortress made from dark true ice, Yun Jhin and the others could have seen their reflections in it if they weren’t already in stealth.
Yun Jhin analyzed the fortress to see where the formation was positioned but after a while, he realized that the formation was the fortress!
It was a combination of a structural form as the core and the expensive ingredient which was the dark true ice creating a gigantic physical formation, Yun Jhin frowned as he put his hand on the ice only for frostbite to immediately appear on the hand and start to travel towards his body, Yun Jhin immediately took away the hand and used his ki to purge the dark ice that was still clinging to his hand and body.
“This is rather troublesome…”
Yun Jhin knew of the way to disable the formation… which was destroying the fortress, that was literally the only way to destroy the formation.
He did a few more experiments with the formation and realized that while it would generate frostbite and intense pain when it was touched the dark true ice would still melt at the same time as he concentrated his ki properly, thus he could scale the walls of the fortress if he endured the pain and sharp winds that were protecting the tall walls.
Of course, while he would come rather unscathed from this experience his troops wouldn’t be able to withstand it, the fortress’s gates were closed which meant he would have to do the same thing again, enter by himself, create a mass panic then open the gates.
Yun Jhin decided to scale the walls but as he tried to clutch on the ice walls he realized that they were so slippery that he couldn’t actually grab anything from them, they were too smooth as well so there was no chance for him to scale the wall.
This became a problem as he looked at the gates he realized that they wouldn’t open any time soon, or at all, if they had a teleportation portal in their fortress they didn’t even need to send out people, they could just teleport long-range that way.
Things were rather annoying now, Yun Jhin frowned, how could he make them open the gates?
As he thought about it he got an idea, he could either make some racket at the door making them open it to see what’s happening then slip through. He really needed to get inside the fortress, fighting outside would mean being in the range of the attacking ability of the fortress and they would also have a perfect defense meaning that things would be very annoying.
Yun Jhin was a prompt and efficient person, he didn’t want to extend a fight that could be won with other means, fighting head-on was never his favorite type of fight, he would only resort to it when there was no other choice.
Then Yun Jhin facepalmed, the Han family was a merchant one so normally they would invite other merchants to trade their goods inside the fortress if he could get to one of their teleportation portals and use it to infiltrate the place in the guise of a merchant it would be easier and more indirect compared to making a ruckus in the front of their place, who knew if they were going to launch some type of attack from the tall walls instead of opening the gates?
Yun Jhin took out a paper bird from his clothes as he whispered something into it, he waited for a few seconds before the paper bird became very lifelike as a voice came out of it, it was prince Markus!
“Lin Duritz, how much I have waited to hear your response and you haven’t disappointed me, you are already at the Han family?”
“Yes milord, I have reached the Han family but there’s a problem, unlike the other two families this one’s geographical location gives it too much of an advantage and I cannot get inside to get the deed done, I need some information about the location of their teleportation formations along with an identity as a merchant.”
“Both easy things to do for me, the nearest teleportation formation they use for trading is still in their territory, while the cold is rather fearsome there are some people out there who like the cold because it helps to hasten their cultivation, the city’s name is called Karagee and it’s 6,000 kilometers away from their fortress, as for the merchant identity things should be already done by the time you get there.”
Yun Jhin crumpled the bird into a ball before setting it on fire and throwing it away.
He ordered his squad to follow him as they started to retreat from the fortress.
They arrived at the city around 2 hours later, they already changed their outfits and his subordinates were dragging some carts behind them, they were full of resources scarcely found in the northern parts along with some special weapons and armors.
The moment they arrived in the city they immediately went to those that were responsible for the teleportation portal of the Han family.
When the people that guarded the portal saw the quality goods that Yun Jhin and his squad brought their eyes lit up like a Christmas tree, they eyed the carts for a while before they walked towards Yun Jhin who was dressed rather exquisitely to show his status as the boss of the caravan.
“Yo boss, I know that you want to send all of this to the Han family but you first need to pay some taxes, 10% of everything you got to let you use the portal.”
Yun Jhin smiled at the man who told him that before the man’s eyes started to slack and he closed his mouth, he activated the portal and let Yun Jhin and his squad through without any hitches.
Yun Jhin found himself in a plaza, in front of him a few men and two women were coming to inspect his goods.
Yun Jhin smiled to himself as they approached and started to crack his knuckles.
