My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar - Chapter 231
Yun Jhin’s actions went undetected as the men and women who came forward to welcome him were ogling the products that he had brought.
They were mostly premium products for the icy northern frontier and they would make a sweet profit if they bought it then resold it at a higher price using their connections and a little bit of ‘persuasion’.
As the guardian family of the north, they were able to push the right buttons to get what they wanted and when they wanted.
The oldest male in the group approached Yun Jhin with a sly smile on his face, it was the smile that every merchant would cultivate at some point, they were so sleazy that even Yun Jhin was impressed somewhat.
“Sir, you are the leader of this caravan?”
Yun Jhin nodded as he asked:
“What do you think the price could be for these goods?”
The man started to rub his hands together under his sleeves as he said:
“Well if we calculate the taxes with the selling bar of premium goods I could say that they were around 20,000 heart grade spirit stones.”
Yun Jhin looked indignant at the price as he said:
“20,000 heart grade? I have paid around 25,000 or so spirit stones for this batch of goods and you will buy under the market value??”
“Ehe mister Zhao Yun, I know that you are an up-and-coming new merchant but I don’t think you can mess with the prices set by our Han family.”
“I recommend for mister Zhao to reconsider our offer unless you don’t want things to turn out… a little bit more than you could handle.”
The men and women behind the older gentleman took out some weapons from their clothes as they pointed them at Yun Jhin and his men.
Yun Jhin laughed as his body started to morph recovering his original appearance, the moment this happened all of the men who pointed their weapons at him along with the older man who threatened him fell to the ground foaming at the mouth, their eyes rolled to the back of their head while they twitched down on the ground like epileptics.
Yun Jhin shook his head as he put his foot on the head of the older man before a sickly splurge could be heard from below his foot, a curtain of red showered the icy ground below as the man’s head exploded like a watermelon, the others head were popped along as well by Yun Jhin’s subordinates as they started to disappear when they entered stealth.
Yun Jhin smiled as he looked around while saying:
“Let the panic begin!”
Yun Jhin disappeared as well as he turned on his stealth and looked at everything that was happening from a good spot.
His troops were already unleashing hell on all of the weaker people in the fortress, thus getting the attention of the squads that were installed at the top of the walls of the fortress and the guards that were patrolling around the place.
The moment they saw their people being slaughtered by sheep by invisible invaders made them as mad as they could be.
However unlike the other times where the guards would rush to save their precious people, these guards of the Han family looked for a few seconds before they started to retreat, they realized that they would be overwhelmed by the attackers and thus they didn’t interfere, just watching coldly from the sidelines while letting one of them go and report to the higher-ups.
Yun Jhin looked at the guard’s apathetic attitude and nodded, they were truly a merchant family.
Yun Jhin didn’t let the guard who left to report alone, of course, he wanted to lengthen this as much he could be angering the higher-ups even further that way.
The moment one of the guards moved to report they would sink into the ground as if it was quicksand and Yun Jhin would appear to taking over his appearance and returning in the group of guards who were still looking at everything that was happening while keeping their guard up for any sudden attacks.
Yun Jhin’s approach made most of them frown as the captain of the guards asked:
“What are you doing Daryl, haven’t I told you to go and report to the elders? Why are you back so soon?”
Yun Jhin approached a little bit closer thus making them put their guards up even further the guard captain narrowed his eyes as he said:
“You… you are acting strange Daryl, why don’t you respond to my question?”
“Oh you see captain… that’s because I’m not Daryl.”
The moment Yun Jhin said those words bone spikes grew out of his arms and impaled the captain through the stomach, the captain vomited a mouthful of blood as his blood started to be extracted from his body and entered the bones making them multiply creating a small bone forest which engulfed the other guards killing them instantly.
Yun Jhin shook his head as he looked at the guard’s remains which were being absorbed by the bone forest, he waved his hand and the bone forest disappeared as if it was never there, the same happened to his actual body as he disappeared as well.
Yun Jhin’s actions scared the living daylights out of the hiding people that he ignored as he deemed them too lowly for him to take care of.
The moment they sighed thinking that they escaped one of Yun Jhin’s lackeys came by and annihilated all of them letting the snow on the ground becoming fully red.
Yun Jhin orchestrated the whole thing as he waited for the big bad bosses to appear, even if they were enjoying themselves at this moment it wouldn’t take much time for them to realize that things weren’t normal.
As if on cue an immense amount of pressure descended on the plaza as an angered voice overwhelmed Yun Jhin’s hidden pawns:
“WHO DARES TO DO THIS TO MY GLORIOUS HAN FAMILY? I SHALL ANNIHILATE YOUR CLANS AND DRINK FROM THE SKULLS OF YOUR ANCESTORS WHILE I DINE ON THEIR FLESH AND BONES.”
Yun Jhin knew that the one who said that was one of the higher-ups of the family, but he could only feel the aura of one person which showed that the other person was hiding in the dark trying to tag-team Yun Jhin when he fought one of them trying to take him by surprise.
Yun Jhin smiled, he decided to play along with them.
The moment that the voice stopped shouting was the moment a heavyset man appeared in the air above the plaza, his eyes were amber colored and he wore blue chain mail armor, he had a helmet on his head that sported two long horns made from gold.
His eyes scanned the plaza below like two lanterns as he tried to identify where Yun Jhin’s pawns were along with him.
Yun Jhin speed blitzed behind him as he tried to bifurcate him at the waist only to find his arm stuck inside the chain-mail armor, the heavy-set man laughed as he looked behind as if his neck didn’t have bones and said:
“Very good armor don’t you think?”
Yun Jhin nodded, it was a very annoying armor but it wasn’t that troublesome for him, he clenched his stuck hand, and the chains that grabbed the hand started to crack and break.
The moment the Viking-like person saw what was happening his eyes bulged out to the point that they almost left their sockets, he tried to give Yun Jhin a big bear hug while he was still stuck and succeeded however when he tried to break his bones he found out that it was like hugging a mountain, no matter how hard he tried all he could do was continue hugging the mountain without even being able to move it.
He frowned as he shouted:
“FATHER COME OUT!”
The moment he shouted a man similar to him appeared, he was a little bit shorter with a hunched back and also not as fat as the one who was hugging Yun Jhin but they resembled each other quite a bit.
Yun Jhin laughed inside as he saw the man appearing earlier than they intended, he already made a hole in their plan, the hunched Viking immediately teleported towards his son who was still holding onto Yun Jhin only to frown as he felt something wasn’t right.
He then jumped backward away from Yun Jhin as the bone forest from before unleashed itself directly upon the man’s son along with his surroundings, the bone forest had increased to around 10 meters in height and 70 centimeters in width, the moment it appeared it impaled everything around beside Yun Jhin, the bones were practically alive as they moved around him like they were made from gum.
The older one was frightened by the sudden attack while the younger one was impaled and his blood was getting drained by the bones as if they were ravenous maggots.
It didn’t take much time for the shriveled form of the younger formerly heavy-set man to appear in the midst of the bone forest, he looked as if he didn’t eat for weeks and his face was extremely pale just like a dead person’s but he was still alive and kicking.
He tried to remove himself from the bone forest so he could regenerate his blood back but the bones were sticking right through him making it hard for him to break them, even though they were very pliable in Yun Jhin’s hands they were harder than meteorite metal when it came to someone else interacting with them.
The moment the father saw his son’s current situation he started to move away to retreat.
However, Yun Jhin appeared behind him ready to skewer him through the chest only for the old man to smile and mutter:
“Got you!”
