My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar - Chapter 240
Yun Jhin felt immense power coursing through his body as it was currently transforming reaching an in-between stance, he was getting closer to the true realm but he couldn’t truly get there by himself.
Even though he had absorbed both the celestial emperor and Hell’s willpower it still wasn’t enough.
The duo would have reached the true realm if they fused because they were both natural wonders that were born out of the universe, unlike Yun Jhin who was both despised by the universe and a normal mortal.
Both of their essences weren’t enough for him to take the last step and arrive at the spot he needed to.
He felt rather incomplete as he checked up on the laws that fused with his body, they were half-way crystallized.
From what he could infer the moment the laws that he had fused with his body were fully crystallized he would be able to ascend and leave the universe.
This was his dream since he first died, he hated his mortal body which couldn’t withstand his ambitions, and always strived to improve himself to the limits only to realize that he lacked talent…
In the end, he went towards the accumulation path with his reincarnations until he reached this step… this was the farthest he has ever gone.
This was the epicenter of his journey, his dream, his goal to reach immortality was one step away from him…
It seemed he still had to reach the middle of the universe.
He already knew of one way to reach the true realm without the absorption of these two entities but it was considerably harder and way more dangerous than what he went through, if he failed this time it was also his last life… but he couldn’t wait anymore!
His last try… his last try, he wanted to gamble it on this, he needed to succeed, he had to!
The whole celestial realm shook as Yun Jhin thought about his future, this broke his train of thought as he looked at the core of the realm, breaking Hell’s willpower from fusing with the realm destabilized it and it didn’t have much time until it would explode.
However at his cultivation base, the explosion of the realm wouldn’t affect him, however, it would fatally injure him and put him in chronostasis effect until he would be all healed up.
He had no wish to become like that as he teleported out of the ground and arrived at the Lin family’s teleportation portal.
All of the living beings in the realm had died due to Hell’s willpower shenanigans so there was nothing he needed to do in the realm any more, the vitality of the realm was also slowly being ripped away from the realm and disappearing all the beneficial effects it had before were nowhere to be found.
Yun Jhin sighed as he infused the portal with his ki and left through it, as he took one look behind he could see the realm being engulfed by lava that shot out of the ground, it seemed the celestial realm was truly done for…
Yun Jhin opened his eyes as he was back in the mortal realm.
He directly teleported to the blood throne sect headquarters as he looked around, most of the troops had been sent to the celestial realm and the headquarters were now empty.
He continued to look around for some time and sighed, all of his hard work gone in a few hours, while his branches were mostly unaffected his strongest people were in the army batch that first entered, but the same could be said about the other sects people as well, and unlike them, he also came back alive.
He didn’t find any belonging to the sect anymore, actually, he didn’t feel anything at this point, he didn’t care about his secular connections anymore, he was sure he had included his son and daughter in the expedition roster so they were certainly dead as well.
As for Qinghe, he decided to leave her alone, she didn’t need him anymore, she still had some loyal maids and what happened next to her wasn’t of his concern.
He teleported from sect to sect and saw how they were still waiting for their patriarchs/ancestors and troops to come back victoriously with loot.
However no one came, time passed, days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and months into years, the sects started to degrade as they lost their leadership and the stronger sects that didn’t take the bait and entered the portals immediately came to conquer the remainders of the top sects…
These things happened continuously and they repeated themselves, at this point Yun Jhin had seen through the feelings and psyche of the humans/beasts and most intelligent beings, as long as someone became intelligent they would all pursue the same thing.
Wellness of life, everyone wanted a better life, a longer life so they could enjoy the better life, they all wanted the same things, everything that stemmed from this was the construct of society, even in the cultivation one where one’s fist told how things would go, instead of wealth they would run after power, no matter what way or the means they had to employ to get the power they would do it, some people liked to cling to beliefs but they remained at the bottom of the barrel while those that did everything they could walk their way up on the stairs of society.
Everything came from power and ended at power, all that Yun Jhin had done up till now didn’t make him any different from the people he was currently observing, he was just like them, a person that ran after his dreams, all of he did tend to reach the extreme but that was what he became after he lived for so many lives.
Life tended to repeat itself no matter how you wanted to do things differently, there would even be days that you would think that you have gone through this thing before, Yun Jhin hated this feeling, he hated the monotone life of cultivation, he always hated doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result, if he was honest with himself he was truly insane.
Everything he had done up till now was so he could change his pace so that he could step away from the oppressive place that was this universe that he was stuck in, he wanted to change his lifestyle, he got bored of killing, destroying, and schemes.
It had been such a long time and he wanted to rest, however, it wasn’t the time to do it yet, it wasn’t time to rest, he hadn’t finished the last thing he needed to leave the universe.
He looked around him, only stars surrounded him as he left all of the populated universe behind him, there was no one to challenge him, and even if there was he wouldn’t accept because there was no point to, he only had one thing he wanted and that was getting the core of the universe and ascending!
He slowly trotted through the starry sky as if he was an old man who was supporting himself on his walking stick, the more he walked in the universe the brighter the stars started to light around him, however, he didn’t feel good, the light was trying to incinerate him, destroy him, which showed that he was on the right way to the center of the universe.
As he got closer and closer to the end of his journey he could feel sweat trickling down his temples as the light increased so much that even his tempered true body was slowly being roasted like he was a piece of lamb in a cooking pan.
But he ignored all of the bodily sensations as he trotted forward, he didn’t say anything as there was nothing to say but his eyes shook a little bit as he looked in front of him, he saw a person, a person that he thought that he would never see again… Yuan Fang.
Yuan Fang’s body was slowly disintegrating as he tried to walk forward, he wanted to reach the center of the universe but he was weaker than Yun Jhin, he barely reached the peak of the god realm in his own way, from his aura Yun Jhin could identify that he had taken over hell, how much time had he stayed in the celestial realm contemplating the life of intelligent beings?
Yuan Fang fell to his knees then to his stomach as he tried to crawl forward, the pressure and light from the stars attacked him so much that the life in his eyes was slowly being extracted and destroyed by the light.
Yun Jhin took a few steps towards him which took his attention, he looked up from his downed position as he chuckled sadly:
“It seems you won the race Yun Jhin… you were more prepared than me.”
“Was I really?”
Yuan Fang chuckled, it seemed Yun Jhin didn’t want to let him have the last word even when he won, his body started to slowly disintegrate as his soul tried to escape only for the stars that surrounded them to grab Yuan Fang’s soul and incinerate it along with the remainder of his body.
He was now dead both in body and soul!
The path to the center of the universe wouldn’t forgive anyone, if anyone walked the path they had the intention to hurt the universe and that wasn’t forgivable!
Yun Jhin ignored the ashes that drifted around him, he continued to walk forward. Yuan Fang wasn’t in his head even when he started to walk this road, he even forgot him and only remembered him after he saw his downed form… all he had on this mind now was reaching the center of the universe and absorbing its core!
