My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar - Chapter 242
“I know you want to ask things, just ask away, we are all friends here, even that guy.”
He pointed towards Buddha who made a ‘hmm’ sound as he looked at the two of them but didn’t say anything, he didn’t like to associate with Hades and considering what he had done with Yun Jhin he didn’t want to talk with him either.
“Why do I feel so sleepy… do Gods need sleep?”
“Not really, look at me and Buddha, do we look like we need to sleep?”
“It’s just that you are a new God and you need time to adapt, the other guys got bored of watching over their worlds and let us do it instead, you will adapt quickly, by now you shouldn’t feel sleepy anymore right?”
Yun Jhin cocked his head to the side and he felt better, now it was as if he was full of energy.
He didn’t really understand how the surroundings worked yet but as he analyzed them better information started to pour into his brain.
Even though he reached the true god realm there was no information for him about the realm beforehand but now the place itself was feeding him information after he acclimatized to it.
“What’s this?”
Hades chuckled:
“Self-enlightenment, you might think that the place we are in gives you the information but you just learn it by yourself after you fully accommodate with your cultivation base.”
“Anyways let me tell you more about the benefits of being a true god.”
“Well besides eternal life we can also create universes and watch whatever is happening in there, we also control the cycle of reincarnation and we can decide which of the more important souls reincarnate and in what they will reincarnate.”
“Most of our job consists of observing the universes, well we aren’t obliged to but this is the most entertaining thing we can do around here.”
“And yes we can create whatever we want but after experiencing everything there was to experience you get bored of those types of things.”
“You should understand what we are talking about, you ascended because you wanted immortality and nothing else.”
What Hades said was true, Yun Jhin’s obsession with immortality was immense to the point that he ignored every other aspect of his life but he was having second thoughts on his current situation?
“I have a question for you Yun Jhin, why have you chased immortality for such a long time, for what reason have you been so obsessed with it?”
“It wasn’t for you to live a long life in luxury, it wasn’t for you to enjoy your life with someone you loved, it wasn’t for you to amass infinite wealth with your ageless body, it wasn’t for you to become the king of the universes, all you wanted was eternal life but why?”
Yun Jhin started to shake as he heard these questions that he never asked himself, why did he work so hard for immortality? Why did he chase it so obsessively?
It never made sense to him why he was so obsessed with it but he always pushed forward regardless of some of his stray thoughts.
But he was also himself at the same time, he understood that he wanted immortality but he was confused on why he wanted it.
Why did he want it?
Yun Jhin started to think and Hades left him alone, he would achieve the highest enlightenment only when he understood why did he want to achieve what he achieved.
Yun Jhin eyes were closed as he started to look through his memories…
*****************
A small child was cradling his mother’s cold corpse as he cried out:
“Mother mother!”
Near him a few older males were looking at the mother with pity as they said:
“It seems she couldn’t withstand all of us at once hahaha.”
The kid was doing his best to wake up his mother which he succeeded in after a while, the mother looked at her child with a dotting gaze as she said:
“Please live… live little Jhin.”
The moment these words left the woman’s mouth the child’s face started to turn slack and passive which scared the woman out of her wits, she could feel her weak vitality leaving her and she knew she would die, was her child going through a panic attack after he realized what was going to happen?
Only for the child to get up glare at the grown-ups around him and unleash a wave of energy that killed all of them.
He looked down at his terrified mother before he shook his head and slit her throat with a nearby sharp rock.
Yun Jhin shook his head as he looked through the memory, the only thing that he found peculiar was that the moment she told him to live his memories from his past lives awakened.
He went to the next memory that he found peculiar and as he continued he realized something.
He was really goddamn unlucky, every time his memories awakened one of his parents/partners or friends would die.
No matter what he did they would always say something among the lines of, go live, escape, or something like that, and his memories would awaken.
This leads him to realize that he didn’t want to live forever for himself.
Even though he had sealed all of the memory cores of the former reincarnations they still seeped into his personality as he would have to browse them once in a while to get the information he needed.
He thought that the technique he employed was perfect but it seems there were flaws…
But there was no reason to think about it anymore… he had already achieved the dream of all of the collective people that died near him or because of him, or in his hands.
They all wanted him to live and he lived to their expectations and wish, he had achieved true godhood.
Yun Jhin actually chuckled as he opened his eyes and Hades knew that he found the reason why he wanted eternal life as the surroundings started to change from white to purple and green this showed that Yun Jhin had achieved inner peace.
For one to create a universe they needed to first have inner peace.
Destruction came before creation and this was something that Yun Jhin had already comprehended, all he was missing was inner peace.
Yun Jhin looked at Hades and smiled as the surroundings turned back to white as he waved his hand.
Down where the motes of dust were another one appeared, this one was a little bit strange compared to the other ones.
Hades interested in the creation of the new true God he decided to look at it, as he focused he finally saw the universe, unlike the other ones this one was already created, and all of the planets in it were populated, there was no evolution to speak of, people existed the moment the universe appeared and they all had average intelligence.
However, Hades could see something wasn’t right with them a man with a unibrow started to get violent as he looked around him and went on a killing spree inciting even more violence around.
However, the unibrow man was put down by another man with a buff physique and things continued so on.
As time passed societies were created and cultivation was invented, Yun Jhin didn’t do anything as he observed along with Hades… he just looked on.
Time passed and the people started to ascend to their own realms, they were different compared to the ones Yun Jhin was used to but it was normal for things to be different, after all, it was a brand new universe.
Time passed further and the first peak expert appeared, he ruled with an iron fist creating a dictatorship that engulfed the whole universe.
Time passed again and so did the dictator, he died of old age and his children were now fighting on who to inherit the throne…
Yun Jhin watched everything that happened in the universe he created, from time to time he would either sigh or even laugh as he looked at his creation, were these the same emotions that he had sealed for such a long time? It felt nice to feel something and act upon it as well. When he was mad he would create a destructive earthquake that shook the whole universe, when he felt glad he would create a new universal treasure for his people.
But as more time passed he started to get bored, things started to repeat themselves even though he had created the universe with a unique thought in his mind.
Things tended to repeat no matter how unique you wanted things to be…
So he waved his hand and the granule of sand disappeared… he wanted something better, something that he would enjoy watching so he created another universe putting even more work into its conception.
But it failed again, and again, and again and again.
No matter how many times he did it he was never happy with what he got.
So he continued to create and create for one day hoping that he would have the perfect universe that he could enjoy watching, thus transitioning from one obsession to another.
FIN.
