My Last Hunt - Chapter 367
Level Battles 41
Qiao barely saved this part of the boundary line from the incoming chaos. This let him think to keep strict eyes at the complete boundary line. He hopped on the back of the monster. The other side was silent and peaceful. The monsters were not irritated by any attack until now so they were traveling without wandering aimlessly.
The first group of the hunters was leading them. Qiao returned toward the boundary line and took a look at the second hunter. He was currently battling with one of the group of beasts. Initially it was not intense then more beasts joined in the onslaught.
The hunter was facing difficulty. It was first ever that he had been attacking beasts and to add it, he was all alone. Hunters start hunting beasts after level seven. Half of them delay those missions because they were afraid to face the beasts. Here the team leader left him alone to fight for the life. He was thinking wild things as to how these beasts would tear apart him in pieces.
Qiao landed right beside at the same time. He was like an aggressive and ruthless Hunter King with no worry whether the opponent was the beast or the monster. Before the team member could comprehend or applaud for the timely appearance he was saw the ruthless attacks on the beasts.
For Qiao time lapses were important. Giving some time to the opponent was equal to lend helping hand to the enemy. Minute of delay could turn the whole scenario against the winner. His uncontrolled attacks forced the beasts to move back. The team member heaved a sigh of relief seeing that the team leader was responsible.
“If it was not you I might have faced worst.” The hunter spoke grateful. “If it was not I then it must be you to care your responsibility.” Qiao side glanced at the team member to observe whether he understood his words or not. Sure enough he did not get them instead looked foolishly so that team leader should explain.
Qiao shook his head disappointed. He has no time to explain something that one could only learn with experience or grit. The hunter scratched his hair and stood alert. He could see that the team leader was strict if he wanted to not offend him then he should remain true to his job. The day was moving so did the migration and the monsters.
After half of the day Lam told that it was exhausted. Qiao immediately selected the hill and landed. Lam sprawled. “I better take one more full meal before we leave this place.” Lam spoke. Qiao was about to go and stand alert for the attack of the beasts when he heard Lam.
“Come with me. You can get your full meal when the beasts will attack us.” Qiao chuckled. He intentionally chose this place because the beasts were getting ready at the far end for a big attack. Lam dragged its huge feathers walking behind master.
Qiao gestured it to move at the left without creating noise. Lam barely held its feathers up and walked with mild feet as if feared to wake up the sleepy ground. The beasts came making sharp sounds creating some threat for whoever was appointed to stop them. Lam attacked from left and Qiao from the right side.
Lam was not using feathers to attack instead it was using stone. It was not well versed with the usage of these feathers. Lam might have waited for few days before the actual flight however master was in urgent need of assistance.
Going for the water source was excuse. Lam was practicing flight half of the time. It returned after making sure that the feathers could stable in the air for long time. Qiao was doing uncontrolled attacks to threaten these beasts to stay away from the migration. His ways were ruthless only to make sure that the mission should not fail.
If he let the beasts take him easy then the things would turn in to mess soon. “Do not let beasts take you easy.” Qiao looked at the loyal monster and laughed reminding the previous words. Lam blinked then remembered. Now it understood the meaning of the previous words uttered by the master back then.
With this Lam leapt ferociously at the beasts and tore them apart by digging the sharp teeth. It took one after the other from their neck and injured. When the beasts noticed the bloody monster they were terrified to think when these monsters grew their guts for attacking the beasts? Whatever piece of mass tasted good Lam munched in one bite then moved on to other target.
Qiao was no different with his wild attacks. It seemed many hunters were making it difficult for the beasts to advance forward. There was no option other than to curse and return back to their dens. Few attacks were intense and the blood splattered tainting the fleece of the hunter.
Qiao did not mind for the sake of the mission. The day was nearing its end and the monsters were reaching at the next island. The distance between every island was not same but it seemed that the monsters kept feasible control on the pace perhaps they could calculate the time and decide when to travel fast and when slow down.
Qiao stood at the finishing point and looked at the map. They were away from the Nest. This means the critical part of the journey was done without big ruckus. Apparently the beasts were no more in a mood to attack or try one last.
It was due to the fear of the ruthless hunter. They never happened to see such hunter; they did not witness sliver of fear in his eyes no matter if the whole group attacked at once. Instead they feared his existence more than ever.
Qiao was well aware about the threat and possible war. He wanted to temper his aura so to let the beasts bear his existence. The aura and the type of aura depended on the fact as to how many beasts or the monsters a hunter killed during level up.
