My Last Hunt - Chapter 374
Class Test 4
Aino did not speak further. She was currently injured. Using the Annealing method required higher amount of accuracy to guide the energy of the material. For this her injury should heal first. “What kind of weapon you wanted to design? Do you have the required material? What price you can pay in return?” Her tone changed as if purely caring for the business.
“I don’t know the exact price. You can tell the price for me to decide.” Qiao shrugged his shoulders. He wished that this Weapon Maker should not include her previous sourness in this deal. “I wanted you to design weapon made of beast stone…” he was about to add the second answer when Aino interrupted.
“What, Beast Stone weapon? Are you day dreaming? Do you know how many stones are required for a weapon? Do you have that many?” at the last sentence she lowered her tone looking around. Aino had been collecting beast stones for making weapon, sometimes recklessly battling with beast or robbing other hunters.
It was not easy deal. Searching beasts and then battling, it was immensely terrible face over if the beast showed up with another fellow. None could predict what would happen with the hunter. “I have enough of with me.” Qiao brought the pouch up in front of her. It was filled with beast stones. Now that he pointed, Aino felt the strong beastly aura.
She stepped back. “Are you hunter or hidden beast? Where did you get this many stones?” Looking at the pouch her eyes were wide opened, she barely held back her intense wish to take a look at the piles of stones inside the pouch. Her smart brain immediately started calculating the possible amount. “We can discuss the price far along?” Aino hurriedly added before Qiao could speak further.
“I want this weapon earlier.” He was confused why she was suddenly interested in making the weapon despite the fact that she disliked his ways. “I need half a day to heal,” Saying this Aino turned her face away because the hunter would immediately understand the possible scenario in the battle.
“I will wait here then.” There was no choice, looking for another weapon maker was out of question. Qiao walked and sat on the bench again. Aino sent her assistant to bring her new dress, she herself walked inside the cottage. Unknown strength rushed in her blood bringing hope that this deal might help her fulfilling dream.
Now she was not afraid to use the best healing stone to increase the healing. The pouch filled with stone was shining in her bright eyes. She was troubled that if she asked in detail then the hunter might distrust her intentions. The special weapons were dream of many but it was almost impossible to collect piles of stones.
Despite being retired Weapon Maker she was running after her dream for few years. According to her experience with Weapon making the pouch consisted more than the required amount of stones. Her attentions were clear like day. She would ask the remaining stones as the price of the weapon. After thinking in her head Aino stood to set up the equipment for Annealing.
The assistant brought her professional fleece along with formal covers. The town’s people rarely walked through the path of cottage but today their eyes were sneaking whether the master agreed to let the stranger visit.
They were confident that the master would again refuse to render any help just like before. Aino was no more interested to do tough job of weapon making instead her most of the time was spent wandering in the search of stones. She ordered her assistant to pretend that the master was busy with the orders of the Hightown and could not take the small bids from locals.
This let her reputation flourish and the natives did not bother to disturb her. As she was arranging the tools and the messed up equipment, half of the day passed. Aino gestured her assistant to bring the hunter. Qiao walked inside the cottage. It only looked small cottage from outside while inside was not squeezed. “You might already know that not every Master Maker can take such bid. You should keep in mind that price would be high.” Aino spoke eyeing the pouch.
“Let’s see what is waiting ahead.” Qiao shrugged his shoulders. He perhaps understood the glint in her eyes when she looked at the pouch. Qiao placed the pouch on the table for her. Aino grabbed it opening up and piling on the table. Her covered hands picked and divided the amount making one big mount of stones and second small.
“This amount is enough for designing weapon while I will keep the remaining stones as the price of Annealing. Do you agree?” She looked up. No more foolishness reflected in her eyes. Qiao heard and nodded. It was entirely under his means to agree on this price.
These beast stones were not helpful in case of direct stone battle. Moreover Hightown sent three level eight beast stones; they were enough for brutal battle.
“You can take the rest of stones as the price of weapon.” Qiao agreed. Aino was glad however her expressions did not change. “Now you can wait outside so that I could work without distraction.” Aino collected the stones and went toward the equipment corner. Qiao stood up. None of the action of the huntress gave dishonest vibes so he was willing to trust that she would not run away.
The Weapon Makers were taught by the masters once admitted in the Guilds or Hunting School. The whole set of preparation along with the precaution; all necessary tools were part of annealing. Controlling the overbearing energy was not the only task for the weapon maker, one should focus the melting point and exploit it for designing.
Making weapon from beast stone was the toughest; usually hunters skip such lessons from the masters. They were afraid that the beastly energy might overpower their brain state. Hunters could take the burden of monstrous energy not the beastly verve.
