My Last Hunt - Chapter 380
Class Test 10
Qiao could clearly hear what was going on inside. This helped him decide what his next step would be. The enemy of the enemy could become a good friend. Only that he was obliged to prove that he was a friend.
“Tomorrow the Lord Council is going to select me as a member of the Council. How come the Lord beast dared to send you to kill Hiko?” Hiko shook away the attack of the intruder.
Hiko was more than ever willing to carve a way of getting rid of this cunning hunter. The only method was to get selected among the Lord Council Members and then it could object to the orders of the Lord beast. Taking direct action was impossible when the enemy was big.
The fight began inside the cave. According to the orders of the Lord Beast, the Intruder was obliged to get rid of the dead body of the beast after killing it, so that none could tell that he was killed inside the North Sepedra. Mostly beasts were very attentive to such matters. Despite the fact that they were bloodthirsty of each other for small reasons, they still cared when things looked suspicious.
Qiao was getting ready for the right moment. He was sure that the intruder must have prepared for the possible battle so it was highly likely that Hiko would face trouble sooner or later. Beasts always laughed horribly, even though they hate their own laughter as well. The Intruder laughed at the struggle of the beast and Hiko recoiled the stone energy for the sake of it.
Such a horrible laugher and the situation, in no way allowed him to bear with it.
The intruder also turned aggressive and used two stones along with the body defense. The cave was not tight, but for a beast battle it was an extremely small place.
Both crashed against the rock walls of the cave. The intruder dusted off its fleece bringing an evil smile on its lips. It was to madden the beast and it worked well. Hiko was no longer in its senses and his second attack went to waste. This allowed the intruder to attack accurately.
The stone excelled light, like a sword bringing the blinding light of threat.
Qiao meanwhile entered the cave, adding to the ongoing bout. Initially Hiko thought that perhaps the intruder was not alone. It brought a sense of danger and it realized that survival tonight would be impossible. They created chaos in the cave with their fight. Qiao fell on the intruder secretly and used his weapon to kill it.
The intruder was already injured so Qiao’s attack immediately killed it. Hiko was also injured because of the reckless attacks of the intruder. By chance, this second beast appeared and saved its life. Qiao hid the weapon hastily. He moved, “I do not know what you want to do with this body.” Qiao spoke.
His tone and the visible hatred were similar to beasts. Most of the beasts bear familiarity in their tones when they reach level eight. Other than rare races it was hard to tell and identify them in their human forms. Hiko was injured yet grateful for this beast and the timely help.
“I can safely keep this body for a few days then I will throw it in the stream that crosses near the black building. It will be shocking enough for the Lord Beast.” Hiko gritted its teeth and stood up. Its wings were bleeding. There was a hidden corner in the cave, Hiko dragged the dead body away from the direct glance.
“How did you know about this battle?” Hiko sat to seal the bleeding veins and licked the blood on its wings before the droplets fell on the muddy ground. “I was walking towards the East den.” Qiao’s bushy and dense voice explained. Qiao was seriously doing his best.
No one could point out that his voice did not match a beast’s. It was the result of his practice. During the previous mission, he tried to copy how the beasts spoke in general. After knowing that his Class Test involved a large number of beasts, he again worked on it.
“Oh! You are from the East den. At least beasts of East den have some wit to question the orders of the Lord Beast.” Hiko nodded. It was luck, Qiao chose this den without any prior knowledge, however in the North Sepedra the East den had some beasts who argued against the orders of the Lord beast.
Qiao sat on the ground, “These days I am roaming around the home just for the sake of it. I met a few in trouble too, wish that those are not in a similar situation.” Qiao spoke, winding his conversation. Hiko nodded as if it understood. “If Lord Beast could order to silence me, then I am sure he is doing this to others.”
“That would not stay for long. I will become the Lord Council tomorrow and this way I will be able to keep a closer attention to the cunning hunter. He is taking over everything.” Hiko was more determined than ever. “Do you need my help?” Qiao asked.
Hiko was surprised however did not deny, “Of course I need like minded beasts to lead this revolt. At best, we can send someone towards the Frost Fire Continent for further orders. The beast Lords are preparing for war, I cannot earn their anger at this critical time.” Hiko detested the Lord beast however it did not want to offend its seniors.
“As you say so. My support will be for you.” Qiao spoke firmly. By this, he wanted to make the beast believe that it was not alone when the time would come. Now he was completely clear who was the Lord Beast. The disloyal hunter king became the Lord Beast of this North Sepedra Territory.
It was so unbelievable that the Hunter King had the guts to hate the orders of the Hightown. All hunters knew their destiny, they were polished by letting them experience what they were supposed to do and what not to. What they could expect from Hightown and what not to. Still few thick heads become wishful instead of working honestly.
