My Life Or Your Memory - Chapter 103
It was not only Yu Huiyin who was unhappy with seeing the woman, Xie Jingyu frowned visibly, and Lu Changying also looked unhappy upon laying eyes on Yu Huiyin.
However, Lu Changying was raised in the upper class of society, and she was taught that no matter what happened, she needed to keep a straight facade and not show her emotions on her face.
So although she was unhappy, she did not show it. Instead, she just looked at Xie Jingyu and pretended that Yu Huiyin was air.
In a way, being completely ignored was worse than when she was being scolded and hated. When they reacted to her, she knew that they were not a big challenge, but this woman, who completely acted as if Yu Huiyin was air, was simply too tricky.
“Jingyu, I came here as soon as I finished my travels,” Lu Changying began happily. “I have missed you so much over the time I was gone, and I have bought you some amazing souvenirs. When I was overseas, I was reminded of you so often, and I cannot wait for us to go traveling together.”
Lu Changying completely ignored the interweaved hands of Yu Huiyin and Xie Jingyu, and although she had been informed of his wedding, she also avoided mentioning it to him.
“I have never been traveling with you in the past, and I will not travel with you in the future either,” Xie Jingyu said coldly as he looked at Lu Changying.
Although he did not understand the subtleties of women and their battles, he knew that she was trying to make Yu Huiyin feel uncomfortable, and that was something he would never allow.
It had taken him a lot of effort to make Yu Huiyin open her heart to him, so now he would never give her an excuse to take it back.
Lu Changying felt her heart ache when she heard Xie Jingyu’s words. She knew that he was happy with his wife, but for him to protect her like this was something she had never wanted to see.
“Jingyu, don’t be so cold to me,” she said coquettishly. “I just got home. I am sure that your little wife will not mind you having female friends, and we have known each other for so many years. We even had a marriage contract once upon a time.”
The more she spoke, the more upset Xie Jingyu became, and Yu Huiyin was also somewhat uncomfortable. She did not want to hear the words that Lu Changying was saying, but she knew that she could not leave now. Xie Jingyu was her husband, not the husband of Lu Changying, so she had to stand firm.
Seeing that she was not backing down, Lu Changying’s expression turned somewhat evil, but it only lasted for a second before she returned to her amiable smile and gentleness.
While Yu Huiyin did not notice the change in her expression, Xie Jingyu caught sight of it, and the atmosphere around him turned cold and gloomy.
“Lu Changying, I have never loved you. I never thought that I would fall in love in this life, and thus it did not matter even if I married you. That is how our agreement came to be. However, I also stated that the agreement was only active if I had not married before then, and I am now a married man. I have found a woman I love with all my heart, and if you have come here to try and drive a wedge between us, or make my wife misunderstand me, you are not welcome.
“I understand that it is a hard blow for you, but there is nothing you can do now. I am already a married man, a man with a loving wife, and a happy family. I have no interest in changing anything, and you have to give up.
“If you do not give up, then I have no other option than to contact your brother and make him reign you in. I cannot accept you causing any problems for my wife.”
Xie Jingyu was direct and honest. He was not going to let Lu Changying cause problems for Yu Huiyin, and he knew that if he was not straight forward like this, she would definitely become a nuisance. He had seen through her the moment the malicious expression flashed by her face.
Lu Changhying was shocked. She knew that he would not give her a chance, but she still hoped that he would spare her face on behalf of him being the younger sister of his good friend.
However, now she realized that it was just her wishful thinking. Xie Jingyu had completely trampled upon her face in front of all the secretaries, and while they were pretending not to be noticed, they had heard every word that Xie Jingyu had said.
Yu Huiyin was feeling much better after hearing how Xie Jingyu was protecting her. She would fight for their relationship if he were there to support her, but if he had been ambiguous with this Lu Changying, then she would not have tried to salvage their relationship.
Sensing that Yu Huiyin’s mood lifted, Xie Jingyu squeezed the hand in his palm tightly to give her strength and smiled at her. The two of them were acting as if there were no one present apart from them.
Lu Changying was feeling wronged. Her eyes watered, and her hands fidgeted with the strap of her bag. She suddenly felt super uncomfortable and did not know what to do.
Should she run away crying? Xie Jingyu was not going to follow her, so what was the purpose of doing so. Should she try to look tough and perhaps earn his pity? It was Xue Jingyu himself who had said those harsh words, so would he really pity her? She was in a dilemma.
