My Life Or Your Memory - Chapter 78
Yu Huiyin took a deep breath, and she tried her best to calm her nerves.
“Grandpa, Jingyu is very good for me. Please don’t be angry with him,” she pleaded as she saw the dangerous expression on her Grandfather’s face.
“You be quiet!” Grandpa Han barked at Yu Huiyin, who flinched and backed away in fear. She had never seen her Grandfather that mad at her before.
“Grandpa, please don’t scare her like this,” Xie Jingyu said, as he dragged Yu Huiyin into his embrace to protect her. “She is terrified of you being mad. Hence she did not dare to tell you.”
“Why did you marry?” Grandpa Han asked with a dark expression on his face as he looked at Xie Jingyu.
“Some things happened, and I need to be responsible,” Xie Jingyu answered, but his words just made Grandpa Han even more livid with anger.
“Some things?! Do you think my Huiyin is someone you can touch as you please? Who do you think you are?!” He was truly angered this time. Why had this man kidnapped his adorable granddaughter?
Yu Feihong’s face also turned gloomy when he heard what Xie Jingyu said, and Yu Huiyin was puzzled. She did not understand what Xie Jingyu was talking about, neither why her family was so upset.
“So something happened, and now you want to be responsible? Just because of that?” Grandpa Han continued asking, but Xie Jingyu was completely calm.
“I love Huiyin,” he said earnestly, every word was so full of conviction that Yu Huiyin felt her face flush red, and she hurried to hide it in Xie Jingyu’s chest, not wanting to face anyone.
Unfortunately, her actions made her family members even more upset. To think that she was so obsessed with this pretty boy!
Yu Feihong felt that Xie Jingyu was taking his sister away from him. He did not want his sister to leave him all alone. He could not bear even more rejection.
Sensing the hostility in Yu Feihong’s glare, Xie Jingyu could guess his thoughts due to the papers he had read before, and he quickly said.
“I love Huiyin so much that I promised her my entire life. I will never leave her or harm her. I will pamper and spoil her. I will make her live a happy life.
“You are her family, and Huiyin also loves me, will you really not bless her happiness? She will still be your Huiyin. She will still be visiting, and you can do as you visit her whenever you wish. I will never try to cut ties with you, as you are now my own Grandfather and brother.
“You have not lost anything. Instead, you have gained another family member who will do anything to make sure that you can live a peaceful life.
“I want Huiyin to live peacefully. I want her to be happy, and I want to be the one who brings her happiness. Please approve of us.”
After saying this, Xie Jingyu bowed to Grandfather Han and Yu Feihong, who now had a strange expression on his face.
Grandpa Han sighed and shook his head. “I can’t control her any longer, but even if you were the Emperor himself, if you hurt Huiyin, I will never let you go!”
“Don’t worry, Grandpa; I will never let her suffer any grievances. I will forever be loyal to only her.”
Grandpa Han looked a bit better after hearing this, and even Yu Feihong nodded his head, but his brows were still furrowed.
Yu Huiyin poked her head out from within Xie Jingyu’s embrace and looked at them with some curiosity.
“How did you know he married?” she asked curiously, and Yu Feihong gave a snort before taking his smartphone, unlocking it and going on the social media platforms.
“Prince Charming is Married!”
“Most eligible Bachelor in the country is secretly married!”
“Who is the woman behind the king of business?”
All such posts were taking over the list of hot searches, and Yu Huiyin was stunned. Who had leaked their relationship?
She did not care too much about it, now that her family was not against it anymore, but she had to consider what purpose they had. If they wanted to cause problems, then it would be troublesome.
Xie Jingyu frowned when he saw the posts. “Excuse me for a moment,” he said before he left the flat to call Assistant Song.
The moment he went outside, both Grandpa Han and Yu Feihong glared at Yu Huiyin, who suddenly felt as if she had entered the tiger’s den.
“You have really grown now, able to marry without even asking for your family’s opinion!” Grandpa Han was still unhappy, and Yu Feihong just snorted.
“We will send the betrothal gifts before the wedding ceremony. We will also make sure to follow all the traditions. Don’t worry; he is very serious about me, so I am not someone he wants to hide from everyone else.
“The reason we had not told you about it was because of my wishes. I feared you could not accept it.”
“But you still did it,” Yu Feihong mumbled unhappily, and Yu Huiyin could not help but smile wryly. Indeed she had still married him, even when she knew that they would not be happy with it.
“I was blinded by love,” she could only say this. Her lips twitched slightly, and she looked away.
Both Grandpa Han and Yu Feihong guessed that there might have been something else behind the wedding, but they did not doubt that she loved Xie Jingyu. She had indeed done everything she could to protect him; it was clear that she could not bear for her family to have a bad impression on her husband.
