My Life Or Your Memory - Chapter 79
But the more Yu Huiyin protected Xie Jingyu, the more upset Grandpa Han and Yu Feihong became. She had truly become his wife, protecting him like this, and she had clearly fallen head over heels for him.
It was sad that their Yu Huiyin had been stolen away by another man with no time to get used to it. It was indeed an unhappy experience.
Yu Huiyin was nervous. She did not know what to say to make her family ease up, and she could not help but fidget with her fingers slightly.
Seeing her this nervous, both Grandpa Han and Yu Feihong could not help but sigh. So what if they wanted to keep her to themselves? She was a grown woman, and one day or another, she would be married.
This man clearly adored her and wanted to give her the best, so it was not a bad thing that it was him she had married.
Sighing deeply, both Grandpa Han and Yu Feihong looked at one another before they saw the same emotions in the other’s eyes, and a wry smile appeared on their lips.
“We will give you our blessing,” Grandpa Han said finally. “However, although we are going to give you our blessings, you need to have a proper Wedding Banquet and ceremony.”
Yu Huiyin quickly, and obediently nodded her head. “We will have one soon,” she promised, but she was not sure how soon it could be, as she was aware just how busy Xie Jingyu was.
It did not take long before Xie Jingyu came inside again. He was wearing a grim expression on his face, clearly displeased by something, but he quickly hid his feelings when he saw that Yu Huiyin and her family were looking at him.
“Someone leaked the information about my marriage to the news outlets last night. I am going to start searching for who is behind it. Also, since everyone now knows that I am married, we might as well invite Grandfather and brother to visit my old man so that we can plan the wedding ceremony.
“I understand that you want to wait with the ceremony, but now everyone is aware of our relationship, so there is nothing wrong with us holding the banquet of the century.”
Yu Huiyin’s eyes widened. The celebration of the century? That sounded quite lavish and far too overwhelming, but to Xie Jingyu, it was only just enough to satisfy him. He wanted his wife to have the best of the best.
Grandpa Han was feeling much better after hearing the words of Xie Jingyu. It was clear that although he was a scoundrel who had stolen his granddaughter away, he was at least treating her wholeheartedly and wanted her the best.
Even Yu Feihong felt better, and he was no longer so worried. His sister was outstanding in his eyes, and no man was worthy of her, but this man was at least trying his best to pamper and spoil her.
Yu Huiyin looked at her grandfather and brother, not sure about what to say, but both of them nodded their heads approvingly.
“Since you are already married, it is only natural for us to meet his family. We cannot let you suffer, so a wedding banquet is needed.”
Xie Jingyu gave Grandpa Han an approving glance. He had feared that Yu Huiyin did not want to have a wedding banquet, but now that her grandfather had said that he wanted one, she could no longer go against it.
“Let’s have it after the lunar new year celebration?” It was still half a year away, and she would have enough time to prepare herself until then.
Grandpa Han and Xie Jingyu looked at each other and smiled. Half a year might sound like a lot, but when it came to preparing a wedding ceremony, it was actually not long. Clearly, she had no idea about how much time was needed, and it now seemed like she was too eager to get her banquet.
A smile erupted on Xie Jingyu’s lips, and he dr.a.p.ed his arm around Yu Huiyin’s waist, dragging her into his embrace.
“Let’s have the celebration right after lunar new year then,” he said agreeably. The sooner, the better. He wanted to tell the entire world that Yu Huiyin was his wife.
On the news that had been broadcasted, no one had known the name of his wife. Right now, her identity was still unknown, but it would not be hidden for long.
“I have to attend a business gathering tonight,” Xie Jingyu suddenly said. “Why don’t you stay over here tonight? I will pick you up tomorrow morning.”
Yu Huiyin nodded her head adorably; she was happy to spend a day with her family. Although she was no longer a child, she often found herself missing them when being in Xie Jingyu’s modern mansion. It was challenging to get used to not having them around her suddenly.
That evening, Yu Huiyin was busy spending time with her family. They were chatting and playing games. A light atmosphere shrouded them; it was evident that they had all gotten happier now than they were before due to Xie Jingyu’s interference in their lives.
In another place, Xie Jingyu was seated in a dark room. Only a dim light flickered within, and Bai Lian, alongside nine men, was standing next to the wall.
Everyone looked solemn, and when the door opened, they all looked towards it, only to see another young man, around twenty-six years old, walking inside.
Despite being alone, he was calm and carefree. He did not seem to take any heed to the cold expressions of the nine people next to the wall.
