My Life Or Your Memory - Chapter 87
Silence erupted on the other end of the phone, and Mo Jinyao was not in a hurry to say anything either.
“Why do you know where she is?” Xie Jingyu finally asked in a low and dangerous voice after considering the reasons for why he would say that.
“Hey, hey, hey, I did nothing to her,” Mo Jinyao said quickly. “You know I have a restaurant not far from your office. Today I had baited some of the Qingtong Ying people to come there and deal with me, but she had somehow entered the restaurant before me.
“I tried to make her leave, but it was too late. However, she was quite resourceful. She killed seven men all on her own; her aim with a gun surely is magical.
“Well, the thing is, when the shootout was over, she wanted to wait for the police and turn herself in. I couldn’t, very well, let my savior do that, so I knocked her out and took her to a safe location with me.
“I am a little worried that she might turn herself in again when she wakes up, so I have her under surveillance now. I think you should come and talk some sense into her mind. It would be such a shame if such a wonderful woman ends up in jail.”
Xie Jingyu contemplated for some time before he grunted in reply. “Tell me where you are.”
Although it might be a trap, Xie Jingyu was not willing to take the risk of losing his wife. If what Mo Jinyao said was true, then his wife ought to be scared. He could not help but fear that she could not handle the mental strain that came with killing someone.
Mo Jinyao was actually as powerful as Xie Jingyu, but his base of operations was not in this country. It was just recently that he had decided to move into their country as well, and he needed to work together with Xie Jingyu to gain any success, as most of the market was owned by the latter.
Getting rid of Xie Jingyu would obviously be the most beneficial thing to do, but right now, he was not in the mood to fight. Instead, he was replaying the scenes from the restaurant in his mind. Being so calm when facing death was unnatural, just what had this woman experienced in her life to be so apathetic towards life and death?
Right now, although Xie Jingyu was his main aim, he had to admit that this woman was making him curious. He had never felt like this before, and it was quite novel.
Although he had called Xie Jingyu, a part of him was actually not willing to let her go. She was so blinding and brilliant that he wanted to hide her from the world and just keep her for himself.
Unfortunately, she was already married. She had even married his biggest rival, what a joke this was.
Yu Huiyin frowned and slowly opened her eyes. She was lying on a bed in a dimly lit room. The bed was big and resembled a princess’s bed, but when she looked around, she did not feel comfortable about being in a princess’ room at all; she felt uncomfortable.
She was in the restaurant before, and now she was suddenly in a big mansion, it was too confusing.
A splitting headache was wrecking her mind, but she forced herself to calm down. Looking at herself, she saw that she was wearing the same clothes as before, and she was slightly relieved.
She tried leaving the room, only to find that two burly and scary looking experts were outside the door. They looked at her without disguising the hostility in their eyes, and Yu Huiyin knew that she was being held captive.
Sighing, she could only return to the room, wondering what she should do. Was this guy going to kill her because of what she saw?
Unsure, she could do nothing else than look through the room, but she soon found that the windows could not be opened and that she was so high up that even if they could, she could not jump down without dying, or at least getting seriously injured.
Just as she stood at the window, contemplating her next move, the door opened, and Mo Jinyao entered.
Looking at her, deep in thought, he was enthralled. She was so beautiful.
“Your husband is on his way here to fetch you,” he gently said as he looked at Yu Huiyin. “This place is a bit special, so I cannot let you walk around as you please. Until he gets here, please wait in this room.”
Hearing that Xie Jingyu was on his way, the tension in her body loosened, and a smile appeared on her lips.
Although Yu Huiyin was beautiful normally, it was nothing compared to the beauty she displayed when she was smiling. Mo Jinyao was completely stunned by seeing the soft smile on her lips.
A gleam passed by his eyes, and he wanted to reach out and drag her into his embrace. She was so strong earlier that day, everything was in her control, and she seemed as if she had nothing to fear, but now she was soft and gentle, like a helpless little lamb. It seemed as if she had so many sides to her that he did not know what the real her was.
Mo Jinyao began regretting his actions of contacting Xie Jingyu. If he could keep her to himself, how good would that be?
But he understood that with her current thoughts that was not possible. She was clearly happy being with her husband.
