My Life Or Your Memory - Chapter 88
Time went by slowly, and finally, after an hour, a bodyguard opened the door and gestured for Yu Huiyin to follow him.
Looking around, Yu Huiyin was curious but restrained herself and did not look around, even though she wanted to.
She had already been told that she should not walk around aimlessly in the mansion, and that there were things here she should not see, hence she decided just to look straight ahead and follow the man who had been told to pick her up.
Her heart was uneasy, and she did not feel too comfortable. She was worried about Xie Jingyu. Although she had nothing against Mo Jinyao, she thought that he was too dangerous. What if he was playing some tricks with Xie Jingyu?
Although Yu Huiyin knew nothing about the Xiyang gang, she still knew that he was a well-known tycoon. Being someone with money, she did not believe that this guy who had kidnapped her was going to let her go before he had gotten some benefits.
Somehow, Yu Huiyin was sure that Mo Jinyao was a bad guy, and that he would do things that were not accepted by the masses.
Her heart was beating rapidly, but whenever one was looking at her, she looked calm and collected, she seemed as if she had everything under control.
Even the bodyguard who had gone to fetch her was quite shocked by how calm she was. There was no crying, no begging for mercy, or even asking questions about where they were going. She was so calm that he felt that she was no ordinary person.
Yu Huiyin looked forward, and soon they arrived at a big hall. Inside, Yu Huiyin saw Xie Jingyu standing next to Mo Jinyao. There were not a lot of people around them, both of them had three bodyguards, but the atmosphere was heavy.
It was not before Xie Jingyu saw that Yu Huiyin arrived with no injuries that he heaved a heavy sigh of relief.
Yu Huiyin was the same. When she saw Xie Jingyu, she forgot everything else and ran to his side, threw herself in his arms, and felt that she was finally safe.
Xie Jingyu could feel the tremble that ran through her body, and while he had been amazed by how calm she was before, he now knew that she was only acting. She was scared, and his heart ached for her.
Mo Jinyao saw the fleeting fear in Yu Huiyin’s eyes, and he felt slightly uncomfortable for having mixed her into this shootout. Still, whenever he thought about her brilliant performance, he was quite pleased with the fact that she was there.
“Dearest, it is all okay,” Xie Jingyu said as he stroked Yu Huiyin’s hair. “You are fine, and no one can harm you when I am by your side.”
Yu Huiyn slowly calmed down and nodded her head. She stayed in Xie Jingyu’s embrace, feeling the warmth he was giving her and wondering if he would hate her now that she had killed someone.
“Well then, Young Master Mo, thank you for taking care of my wife, but next time, try not to involve her in your internal fights.” Xie Jingyu did not blame Mo Jinyao too much. He knew that it was all bad luck that Yu Huiyin had entered that restaurant at that time, but he was not happy to see her so uncomfortable.
“Please take care.” Mo Jinyao had initially planned on asking them to stay for dinner, but after seeing how Yu Huiyin was hanging onto Xie Jingyu, he changed his mind. A flash of discomfort flitted across his eyes. He did not like to see her so close to other men.
But this man was her husband, so Mo Jinyao had no right to stop them from displaying their affection. It was perfectly normal to hug your spouse.
Xie Jingyu left the mansion while holding Yu Huiyin in his arms. He was constantly on high alert, and the three experts he had brought with him were also so vigilant that not even an insect could escape unnoticed.
As they exited the mansion, Yu Huiyin saw that a whole army was standing in front of her, and she suddenly felt uncomfortable and worried. Had Mo Jinyao gone against his words and wanted to harm them?
But moments after she found out that it was not Mo Jinyao who had gathered a whole army, it was Xie Jingyu! How was it possible for him to own such a fierce force when he was a tycoon? Could he perhaps have some other identity she did not know about?
Right now, she was not in the mood to consider it. She was too tired and exhausted, both physically and mentally, and when they sat inside one of the jeeps, she lost consciousness and slumped into Xie Jingyu’s arms.
Seeing her lose her consciousness like this, Xie Jingyu was aware that it was because her nerves had been stretched for so long, and that when she reached him, she could finally let go of all her worries and relax.
Knowing that he was a safe haven to Yu Huiyin made Xie Jingyu’s heart soften, but seeing her unconscious also made it clench uncomfortably.
He leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead, before he gently placed her in a more comfortable position, laying her down on the seats, and placing her head on his lap.
“Call them all back,” Xie Jingyu said with a wave of his hands, and the entire army which had been waiting outside retreated fast.
Although many of the people from the government had noticed his movements, no one acted against him, even though he was so rude and arrogant to use his personal army within the capital.
But they knew that Xie Jingyu was not someone they could easily challenge. Without knowing exactly what was going on, no one was going to start moving against him.
