My Life Or Your Memory - Chapter 91
When Xie Jingyu felt how Yu Huiyin was returning his hug, he finally felt a little relieved, and his breath, which he had been holding, was finally breathed out. His Huiyin was not going to abandon him.
“What should I do?” Yu Huiyin asked with a sigh. “I know I should leave, I know that it is not a good idea to be with you, and my family might even become involved, but I just can’t.”
The words of Yu Huiyin was like rain after a drought. His withered heart sprung into life, and he finally felt at peace. His Huiyin was not going to leave him.
Yu Huiyin smiled slightly when she saw him so relieved, and she forgave him for having hidden this identity from her. He was doing it because he was afraid of her leaving him.
The anger which had previously boiled in her heart was being extinguished by Xie Jingyu’s gentleness and his actions of showing just how important she was to him.
Xie Jingyu was also feeling much better. It had been a mental strain to hide his other identity from her, and he was feeling so guilty constantly.
But now things were different. Now she knew, but she had still decided to stay with him.
Even so, he was immensely guilty about leaving her alone when she was feeling insecure. It was indeed his oversight that he had not considered that she would feel bad when she woke up, and he felt quite guilty about this.
But seeing that she had forgiven him, he was relieved. He seemed to make one mistake after another, he had made all decisions on his own without discussing with her, and now he had caused her to be full of pain. This was a good lesson for him.
In the future, he was going to discuss everything with her so that she did not feel left out or abandoned.
Yu Huiyin was relaxing as she was leaning against Xie Jingyu’s sturdy chest; her heart was finally at peace.
So what if she had killed a few men? Those men were killers themselves, as long as she did not touch innocent people, it should not be a big deal.
“I won’t go to the police,” she assured Xie Jingyu after considering the situation.
Xie Jingyu felt as if someone had removed a stone from his heart, knowing that she was not going to turn herself in.
Yu Huiyin fell asleep after venting her anger, and Xie Jingyu took a deep breath. This time he did not leave her side but sat by her bedside, all night long, waiting for Yu Huiyin to wake up.
He gently traced her cheek with a finger. The soft and gentle touch was intoxicating. He smiled gently as he looked at her, his heart melting.
The hours passed by one after another, but Xie Jingyu did not move; he was just staring at Yu Huiyin with tender affection in his eyes. He had never thought that he would fall in love like this, but now that she was in his life, it was near impossible to get rid of her. If she vanished, it was the same as having his life without meaning.
Previously he had done everything for more power and wealth, but now he knew that what truly mattered to him was Yu Huiyin.
For her sake, he would do anything. He could give up the world, but not Yu Huiyin.
Yu Huiyin woke up early the following morning. She had a long sleep, but the first thing she saw was the immensely attractive face of Xie Jingyu in close range, causing her eyes to widen in shock and her body to jolt.
“Awake?” Xie Jingyu chuckled slightly when he saw that Yu Huiyin was so shocked, but he was also happy to see her somewhat normal again.
Nodding her head, Yu Huiyin placed a hand on her chest. “Don’t scare me like that,” she said with a bit of reprimanding in her voice, but to Xie Jingyu, it was much more endearing than anything else.
“Do you want to take a few days off from work?” Xie Jingyu asked. He wanted her to take a few days off, but after considering it, he felt that although he wanted her to, she might have thoughts of her own, and thus he would not pressure her to do anything.
“I am fine, I can go to work today,” Yu Huiyin did not feel like she was some sort of fragile doll. Although she had a slight mental breakdown the day before, after considering everything thoroughly, she was much stronger mentally now.
“Are you sure?” Xie Jingyu looked at her as if she was some sort of treasure that was about to be broken, but Yu Huiyin just chuckled. “I am not made from porcelain; I am quite sturdy. Don’t worry; I have already accepted reality. The people I fought against were not good either. As long as I do not let go of my morals and ethics, it is fine to fight evil with evil.”
Xie Jingyu looked at Yu Huiyin with adoration and respect. He had not thought that she would be able to come to terms with having killed someone so easily. It seemed that her mental strength was many times stronger than he had expected. The woman he fancied was truly amazing.
“Okay, you can begin work again,” Xie Jingyu gave in quickly, “but you have to take it easy, and take breaks from time to time. In fact, why not let you sit and just look at me all day? We share the same office anyway.”
