My Little Sister Is Too Cute So I Have To Protect Her - Chapter 64 Day Ii
I know…
I know that the talk I had with Hanako last night was a heartwarming conversation…
But it can’t feed our stomach now, can it?
“Nee, Yuuji…”
“What is it, Hanako?”
“I’m hungry.”
Yes, this is the situation that is happening right now. Since I’ve thought that we would simply be going to the mainland, I didn’t bring any nourishment at all. All I brought was just some clothes and a wallet. Hanako’s luggage is pretty much the same. We aren’t troubled by our thirst because our shelter is near a river, however, we don’t have any food at all.
Usually, a yacht will have emergency rations for situations like these but…
“I know Hanako, but it can’t be helped now, can it? The emergency rations got flooded away through the cracks of the yacht after all…”
Yep, we’re screwed.
“Nee, Yuuji. I have a great idea!”, her eyes lit up in excitement.
“Ho~? And what may that idea be?”
“So, we humans usually eat carbohydrates and proteins, yes?”
“Yes.”
“And animal meats are usually proteins, right?”
“Right…”
With each sentence she said, her eyes shone brighter and brighter. I have a bad feeling about this…
“And humans are a type of animals, right?”
“W-wait Hanako… We don’t have to resort to-”
“Let me eat you, Yuuji! Only an arm will do! Please!”
She suddenly clutched onto me.
“Oi, Hanako! Calm down! Don’t go crazy yet!”
“Come on, Yuuji… Just one arm…”
“Snap out of it, Hanako!!!”
It was only after a long while that Hanako calmed down and regained her rational thought again…
I’ll make sure to pack food into my luggage next time. I don’t want to be eaten yet, after all…
************
In the end, both of us decided to search for food from within the nearby forest. Before we went into the forest, we decided to leave the campfire burning. That way, when we don’t know where our camp is, the smoke of the campfire will guide us.
“Nee, Yuuji! I found a lot of berries!”
Within a few minutes of venturing into the forest, we found a cluster of wild berries growing in the forest. Although we don’t know where we are, it seems that we are quite lucky today. Hanako was about to throw the berry into her mouth when I interrupted,
“Wait, Hanako! Let me check first if it’s poisonous!”
“Mou~ YuujI! I’m too hungry to worry about those things! Even if it’s poison, I’ll still eat it!”
Before I could say anything else, Hanako threw the berry into her mouth and chewed it happily. Luckily, the berry was not poisonous, thus, we brought a few clusters of them back to the shelter. From the amount that we gathered, we should be able to last a day or two with this.
Even though the immediate food crisis was slightly resolved now, we still didn’t want to take our chances, thus, we decided to gather more food.
In the end, we ended up with a few clusters of berry, some unknown mushrooms, and a few coconuts. Ma~ This would last a few days, I guess.
************
At dinnertime…
“Yuuji! Since we have the chance, why don’t we make a dish I’ve always wanted to try?”, Hanako said that as she was munching on her coconut.
“Hm? What dish?”
“Mushroom soup!”, her eyes glittered hopefully.
“Sure, but would you mind telling me why you want to eat the dish?”, I said that as I used the remains of my coconut as a dish to warm up the water on the campfire.
“I saw it on a certain game and I’ve always wanted to try it!”
“…”
I had nothing to say to that so I decided to continue preparing the dish. Although she said that she wanted to eat mushroom soup, it’s just going to be boiled water with mushroom in it. I mean, where are we supposed to get the ingredients from?!?!
A few minutes later, the water was boiled, so I threw a few mushrooms into the water. Some of them were weird-looking but hey, since Hanako said that they’re ‘probably’ edible, we should be able to eat them, right?
I split the contents into the two bowls made from coconuts and shared them between us.
“”Thanks for the food!””
Even though we are in a somewhat perilous situation, we still kept to the traditions of our country. We still don’t want to be barbarians yet, after all…
***********
I know that we’ve all been taught not to eat strange things since we were a kid…
Now, I know why the teaching was passed down through the generations…
A few hours after we ate the mushroom soup, Hanako started to act weird.
“H-Hey, Hanako! Are you alright?”
After hearing my voice, she turned towards me and looked at me as if I were her prey…
“H-Hey, Hanako!”
“Fufufu… Yuuji…”
“What happened to you, Hanako?!?!”
Ignoring me, she continued to speak,
“Nee, Yuuji. Since no one is here to see us or interrupt us anymore… Let’s do ‘it’…”
“Oi, Hanako!”
As if she is a predator catching its prey, she leapt onto me and pushed me down onto the ground.
“Fufufu… Give up, Yuuji. Give up and join me… I promise you that I’ll make you feel good…”
“W-Wait, Hana-”
She suddenly kissed me on the lips to stop me from speaking and started to undress my bottom part…
Just as I was about to resist, a strange sensation spread throughout my body.
‘Crap! The effect of the mushroom is kicking in!’
As for the events after that… Let’s just say that it caused a lot of ruckus in the morning…

[Extra Story – An old man’s second day]
Day II
Those brats still haven’t shown up yet.
I have been surviving on the fishes that I’ve caught.
I’m not trying to brag or anything, but when I was younger, I was the ace fisher in our community!
Using a long stick and a somewhat long piece of string, I created a simple fishing rod and got a lot of fishes!
On the way back to my shelter, I also found a buried treasure in a random cave! Apparently, it belonged to a great pirate or something. Once I’m back from this trip, I’m going to be rich!!!
Fufufu… I wonder how those brats are doing…
