My Lovely Girl… - Chapter 1
It’s still early in the morning but the crew were busy preparing for their assigned tasks. The chefs and the assistant chefs were busy cooking, the servers were busy cleaning and arranging everything inside and outside the restaurant.
“Bona Fide” opens up at 10 in the morning and closes at 12 midnight. The staffs have shifting schedules, am and pm shift. The owner himself and the manager don’t want to overwork their staffs so they’ve talked about it.
Marc Reyes. Owner of Bona Fide. Established it 3 years ago. With his hardwood together with his niece and his staffs, it was going strong and made it to top though there were many competitors around them.
Andrea Torres. Andy to her friends and families. Manager of Bona Fide. Niece of Marc.
“Uncle, you know that every month, me and my cousins were having road trips and last month I wasn’t able to join them because we had an event.” Andy said to his uncle sitting in front of her table. “We don’t have any event coming and I have decided to join our two days trip. Assistant manager Olivia and Assistant Manager Mason are very competent and trustworthy so they will do their best so don’t worry,ok?” Andy said continuously to her uncle. “But still your the one that our customers were looking for. They are at ease when your here.” Marc said pleading to his neice evethough he knew that when Andy decided on something, it will not be revoke. Andy shaked her head looking at her importunate uncle. “Ok, just to make you feel comfortable, I will bring my gadgets with me so if ever a problem will arise, contact me immediately.” Andy said but not sure if she can do that. Everytime they’re going on road trips, her eldest cousin would confiscate her gadgets. His reason was for her to enjoy her rest without any disturbances. “Ok! That’s a promise?” Her uncle asked happily. She nodded with a smile in her face. Eversince the restaurant was established, her uncle will not be relax if she’s not around. They both went outside her office. The restaurant will soon open and she knew it will be a busy Sunday.
Customers started to come and in an instant, the place was fully occupied. Andy and the rest of the gang were busy serving the food. The kitchen staffs were buzzing around. But in spite of their busyness, they didn’t forget to smile. Andy taught them nevertheless they’re worn out of work, still put a smile in your face and enjoy serving people.
Atlast, customers coming in great numbers lessened. The staff took their breaks alternately because there were still customers eating. Andy helped in the cleanup. Andy’s staffs admired her, though she’s the manager, she never acted high. She’s humble and down to earth. Whenever she’s free, she will extend her hands in helping them. “Manager Andy, please take your lunch.” Emma, one of the staff, said. “We’ll take care of the rest.” Emma continued. “Later, we’ll have lunch altogether after Assistant Manager Olivia and the others have finished theirs.” Andy said with a smile in her face. And they continue cleaning until the first batch came.
“Olivia, please let Mason know that I will talk to you both later. You know that tomorrow will be my trip so I just wanted to remind of you some things regarding our resto.” Andy said. “Yes, manager.” Olivia replied. “And please prepare one private room, my cousin are coming later.” Andy said. “For how many heads, manager!” Olivia asked. “Maybe 10-12 heads.” Andy said. Olivia nodded. Andy head out of the kitchen and asked the kitchen staffs if they have taken their lunches and altogether they answered,”Yes, manager!”
From morning till afternoon, Bon Fide was busy serving breakfasts, snacks, and lunches. In the evening, the resto was busy making cocktails, serving wines and beers, and producing new combinations of alcoholic drinks that customers will enjoy. To make the night calm and relaxing, the resto also catered an accoustic band playing songs upon the request of patrons.
“Manager Andy, your cousins are here.” Noah, one of the night shift, said. “Thanks!” Andy said and went out to welcome her cousins. She stayed at the entrance of the restaurant while waiting for her cousins who were still outside parking their big bikes. She smiled and give each one of them a peck on the cheeks upon arriving at the entrance. They went inside the private room reserved for them earlier but before Andy could close the door, Assistant Manager Mason reached her hurriedly. “Manager Andy, there’s trouble.” Mason said. Andy looked at her cousins still standing, “Can you handle it?” her eldest cousin, Liam, asked her. “Of course!” Andy said. Her cousins laughed because of her boastfulness. “Take care, call us if you need help.” her second eldest cousin, Chael, said. “No problem, just order the food and I’ll come back as soon as I can finish talking to them.” Andy said and went out together with Mason. “Mason, call an ambulance and Uncle Derek.” Andy said tying her hair into a bun. “Max!” she called and a big rottweiler came outside of the kitchen. “Let’s kick some asshole baby.” she said that made the dog bark loud.
