My Marriage To A Mute Alpha - Volume 1 Chapter 11
Xiang didn’t go home. Instead, he went straight to his company and changed into a new suit. He had no idea how to face his parents. Work was the only thing that could distract Xiang. The incident that happened was too much for his mind to handle. He never expected it to have a negative outcome. But it’s better to not get married rather than having a relationship with no feelings. But Xiang didn’t blame Suho since no one would want to marry someone they don’t even have feelings for. But Xiang was glad Suho opened up to him, to tell the truth before he had any high expectations.
Unfortunately, his work did not affect his mind. He couldn’t help but think about the writings. His meet up with Suho the day after made him even worse. Xiang didn’t go home until midnight when his parents were sleeping. Of course, they did call him in the middle. But talking on the phone was much better than speaking face to face. Xiang couldn’t sleep that night. He didn’t close his eyes for even a second. Neither did he cry nor ask for help.
He went back and forth on whether he should go to the café to meet up with him or not. He finally decided to go. Xiang, all dressed up and ready to go, got inside his car and drove off to the café. This time he didn’t have to wait for him, as he was already there, handsome as ever, sitting silently by the window. Suho noticed him and waved his hand to signal him with a smile on his face.
Xiang having noticed him, couldn’t help but smile back.
Realizing what he had come for, Xiang lost his smile and asked, “Um…about the thing you wanted to talk about. What is it?”
Suho started writing on his tab and showed it to him, which said, “Let’s order something first.”
“No! It’s…it’s fine. I’m not hungry. You can order if you’d like.”
Suho got up and went to the counter.
“I wonder if I got him mad,” thought Xiang.
When he came back, his mouth didn’t open up to say a word. The two sat awkwardly in complete silence.
When the waitress came with their order, Xiang was shocked. It was the same thing he had ordered that day. The waitress laid it on their table and said, “Enjoy!”
Suho pushed one of the lattes and shortcakes to Xiang’s side and looked at him while smiling softly. Xiang hesitated for a moment. But Suho was waiting for him to take a bite. He had no other choice but to eat it. They didn’t speak a word. When they were finished, Suho started writing on his tab. After a few minutes, he showed it to Xiang.
It said, “About what I was going to talk to you, we didn’t get to clear some details. You decided to give me your hand, though you had no idea what kind of person I was. I won’t give you my heart. But I definitely won’t let go of your hand. Even though I will be failing as a husband, I definitely won’t fail as a friend.”
