“I got the report!” said the doctor and showed them the papers.

“Is it something seriously dangerous?” asked Xiang.

“The shooter’s initial intention must have been to shoot the toxin into the brain. It had the capability of paralyzing the entire body. But it instead got shot into the throat. Hence, it’s actual purpose got deterred and instead made damage to his vocal cords. In the worst scenario, it was a good thing it didn’t paralyze his body. I couldn’t even imagine what would have happened next.”

Everybody was in a daze. Everything happened so quickly that they had not time to recollect their thoughts.

Xiang was holding Suho’s hand very firmly the whole time. His palm was sweating to death. Circ.u.mstances were trying to pull them apart at all costs, but he had no intention of letting go of his hand. Suho noticed Xiang’s restlessness. Suho started writing on a piece of paper and showed it to the doctor. It said, “Can I get discharged?”

“You can go home now. But I advise you to come for a check-up every day just for the first two weeks. Even though we can’t erase what had already been done, we can’t manage to lose hope at this point. Please keep on trying,” replied the doctor. She then went out with Han Li and Cheng Mu, leaving Suho and Xiang alone.

“Suho, are you going to tell anyone about this?”

Suho shook his head in reply.

“Even if we tell anyone, it’s not going to change anything. Anyway, do you want to go to your villa or your parent’s house? I’ll get the car.”

Suho grabbed Xiang by his arm and hugged him. He then stared into his eyes. Fear and anxiousness was clearly visible in his eyes. Suho took the paper and pencil and started writing on it once again. This time, it took a bit long. Xiang was trying to figure out what he was going to say. Suho then showed him the paper. It said, “Xiang, I don’t know what else we are going to go through. Even though I may look calm, but deep inside, I’m just as terrified as you. I don’t know what I was going to do if something happened to you at that time. I’m confident that I can protect you and make you happy. We have a long way to go. But I don’t want to give up on you no matter what. I can’t wait any more. I want to make you mine, Xiang. No matter what hurdles are thrown at us, let’s face it together. Please marry me!”

After making sure if he had read the last three words correctly, he looked up at him. Xiang’s face was flushed. He immediately pounced on Suho and hugged him.

“Yes!Yes! Absolutely yes! I want to make you mine too! I promise I won’t faint like last time.”

Suho laughed and hugged him tightly. He then took off a ring that he was wearing and slowly slid it into Xiang’s fingers. He took his hand and kissed it gently. Xiang was already out of tears. Suho then showed him another paper in which he had written something. It said, “Our wedding doesn’t have to be extravagant. We can hold it at a small church attended by just our family and close friends. Keeping our situation in mind, I want it to be simple. In the end, I just want you to become my family. What do you say?”

“I don’t even want to hold it in a church. We can just exchange the rings at home in front of our family and register our marriage. More than that, I want you to bite my nape. Just that is enough. Holding it in a church will only attract the attacker. It’s better to do it silently,” replied Xiang and laid his head on Suho’s shoulders. Suho then nodded his head in reply and kissed him on the forehead…
