My (Monster?) Hero Life - Chapter 316
A soft fragrance entered Kace’s nostrils as he woke up with the sun shining on his face. He rubbed his face as he slowly came to and realised that he barely remembered anything from last night. The few parts that he did remember made him groan, like how he had lashed out at Shagrat.
‘How did I even get home last night?’ Kace rolled over, and something touched his skin. ‘What’s this?’
His hand went under the covers and grasped the object before bringing it up to his eyes. It was a strange purple and orange petal. Kace frowned as he studied it. ‘Where did this come from?’ He threw the covers from the bed to find more of them covering the other side from where he had slept.
At that point, Kace heard a shrill scream coming from somewhere downstairs. Without thinking about it, he pounced out of bed and rushed downstairs. However, he soon regretted his choice as the scene in the front doorway came into view.
“Why are you naked! Wait, why are you here?” Sophia was screaming at a naked Lilly who was smiling at her nonchalantly as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
“Why wouldn’t I be? I slept here last night, so it’s obvious I would be here in the morning.” Lilly yawned and stretched her arms overhead. Her pose allowed Kace to appreciate the curves of her body for a moment before Sophia’s expression went dark.
“Did you sleep with her!” Sophia yelled furiously as her eyes focused on Kace.
He was about to deny it, but then he remembered the petals he had found in his bed. Considering that Lilly was currently naked, he could guess where those petals had come from. His expression turned ugly as he hesitated on what he should say. After all, he did not remember if anything actually did happen, so he could only glance at Lilly and hope she could shed some light on it.
Lilly noticed Kace’s gaze and crossed her arms beneath her chest, making that part of her appear more enticing in the process. She tilted her head to the side and tapped her chin slowly with a playful smile on her face.
“I don’t know why you think it’s any of your business, but I don’t mind answering your question.” Lilly smiled warmly at Sophia before dropping a bomb on her. “Yes, we slept together. What’s the big deal?”
Sophia expression immediately sank. She looked as though she had just been crushed emotionally! Kace did not know what to do right now. He was just as shocked as Sophia was. He knew he was drunk last night, but he did not expect himself to do something like this! Well, maybe he would if there was not as much political pressure surrounding it.
Sophia appeared to be hyperventilating as she gasped for breath. The atmosphere in the hall began to grow chilly as Sophia’s aura seeped into the atmosphere. Lilly narrowed her eyes at the Vampiress as she felt that sudden change.
Kace groaned as he realised what was about to happen. However, he was powerless to stop it. He would only make it worse if he intervened, and one of them thought he was taking sides. As he thought that, Sophia launched a chop towards Lilly’s eyes to try and gouge them out with her nails!
Lilly quickly used her flexible body to avoid that attack before kicking out towards Sophia’s abdomen. Kace did not whether to cover his eyes or not as Lilly was exposing every inch of her body to him with her movements.
As Lilly’s foot was about to connect, Sophia changed into her mist form and reformed behind Lilly to try and put her in a chokehold. However, Lilly released a burst of a scented fragrance that stunned Sophia for a moment. Before Sophia could recover, Lilly had already slapped her cheek hard enough to send her into the wall.
Sophia gasped as the wind was knocked out of her lungs. She growled when she saw Lilly’s mocking gaze, who stood there in the sunlight as if nothing had happened. Kace was honestly shocked by Lilly’s prowess. He had believed that she was someone in their group who needed protecting, but this proved otherwise.
Sophia lunged at high speed towards the dryad, keeping her eyes peeled for what new trick Lilly might try. However, Lilly simply caught her by the wrist, and vines flowed from her palm to wrap around Sophia’s arm. With a graceful spin, Lilly used the vines to slam Sophia into a different wall.
Needless to say, Sophia was beyond furious by this point. Magic began to gather around her before she started to launch ice-based spells at Lilly. Lilly replied to her assault by turning her vines into a tower shield that protected her from the brunt of Sophia’s assault.
One or two of the Ice Shards managed to pierce through and cut Lilly’s perfect skin, which annoyed the dryad. If Sophia was not going to hold back, then why should she? More vines grew from her free hand and took the form of a thorn laden whip.
Kace frowned when he saw that the whip was particularly nasty looking and was obviously designed to do maximum damage without being outright lethal. Kace guessed that Lilly intended to flay Sophia alive. He was getting concerned that maybe he should step in at this point.
However, before he could act, Lilly threw out her whip. Sophia sneered at that attack and flipped through the air to avoid it. Before her feet could touch the ground, Lilly smiled sadistically and changed the whip’s trajectory to intercept Sophia.
Kace finally moved at that point. His hand caught the whip as one of its thorns pierced his palm. His other hand grabbed Sophia’s wrist as she released an Ice Shard that embedded itself in his shoulder. Kace winced in pain before glaring at the two women with a cold expression.
“I think it’s best if you both leave!” Kace snarled, shocking the females.
“Why are you angry with me!” Lilly complained while wearing a complicated expression. “She’s the one who started it! All because we slept together? It’s not like we mated or anything!”
Both Kace and Sophia felt their jaws hit the floor. “Oh…”
