My Mythical World - Chapter 28: The Mightiest Champion of humanity
The disheartening news of the leader’s downfall was not the only blow the Holy Alliance received. The impenetrable bastion of the alliance had been breached, and the relentless swarm of voracious ants was closing in. Within a matter of hours, their army would descend upon them. The human race had no option for retreat, no avenue for self-preservation! A venerable sage, adorned in a resplendent battle robe, led a small group of elite powerhouses. “What do we do now?” Gai Feng inquired. “I have dedicated my entire life to construct a grand sacrificial formation that will help you assimilate the essence of the kings from ages past!” the sage declared. With those words, the holy assembly commenced the construction of a mysterious formation, with Gai Feng at its epicenter. Having gained fame a century ago, Gai Feng had secluded himself in the mountains, waiting for old age to take its toll. But with the emergence of the ant king, he promptly sought aid from his comrades. Multicolored streams of energy surged forth from the assembly, and runic symbols materialized upon the formation. These runes purified diverse forms of energy and channeled them incessantly into the core of Gai Feng. Eyes shut, Gai Feng absorbed the immense energy, his focus consumed by the artifact resting in his lap. The sages surrounding him visibly aged before his eyes—hair turning white, skin wrinkling and cracking. An hour later, the valiant warriors continued to succumb, their noble lives forever extinguished. “We have given our utmost; your destiny shall determine the path ahead! We must slay the ant king and save the world!” their dying words resounded. Gai Feng’s power surged rapidly, causing his garments to rustle. With a resounding bang, he forced open a previously sealed door, and the towering tree outside his abode quivered under the impact of his formidable presence. “What is this?” a guard clung to a beam, peering excitedly at Gai Feng within. Gai Feng’s eyes snapped open, and within them flickered countless images of human fighters. His innate talent had always surpassed that of ancient kings, but now, after merging with the essence of nine generations of monarchs, bolstered by the assistance of numerous formidable individuals, he had transcended the limits of his very being. His strength had become unimaginable! “The most potent force in the annals of humanity has arisen!” the onlookers gasped in astonishment. A verdant leaf materialized before Gai Feng’s eyes. “What is this?” Gai Feng’s intuition began to form a conjecture. The legend of this emerald leaf persisted in the annals of lore, almost attaining the status of a pioneering relic of a new era. “This leaf was bestowed upon Lu Fei, the One Piece King, by the God of Luck in his youth! Now, in humanity’s dire hour, the descendants of the Sea King willingly bequeath it!” an elder proclaimed. Gai Feng silently surveyed the mighty warriors surrounding him, his gaze brimming with profound hope. Finally, his eyes settled upon the corpse of the sage who had assisted him in his training and sacrifice. “Even if it means being shattered to pieces, I will vanquish the ant king and honor the trust placed in me!” Gai Feng solemnly vowed as he accepted the emerald leaf. Rising to his feet, he waved his hand and commanded, “Execute Wang Luo’s plan!” … Jiang Ping hurriedly took a seat, eager to witness the imminent clash. Would the human race once again turn the tide, as they had done in times past? “While Gai Feng has inherited the legacy of nine generations of human kings, an insurmountable gap still separates him from the ant king. The outcome of this confrontation remains uncertain,” Jiang Ping mused. With a gesture of two fingers, he scooped up a handful of potato chips, a smile playing on his lips as he savored their salty crunch. “The sages of ancient times successfully repelled the ravenous ants. Will history repeat itself?” The allure of the unknown fascinated Jiang Ping, urging him to hasten his pace, desiring to witness the unfolding saga. Regardless of the victor, he was certain to emerge unscathed. “Proceed with your battle. If I were to intervene personally, I would be deemed the loser,” Jiang Ping mused. In the primordial world, tempestuous storms loomed, and torrents were on the cusp of engulfing everything. Yet, in this central ancestral domain, countless younglings from diverse lineages stared blankly at the approaching army. They were the sole surviving seeds of their races—the kings of each race had rallied their elite forces to protect their respective realms. The frontline soldiers tightened their grip on their spears, tears shimmering in their eyes, yet their sorrow remained unvoiced. Their captain had imparted an unwavering resolve: “Will you live as cowards for the remainder of your lives or embrace valor, even if only for three minutes? Sink your fangs into the ravenous ants, even if it means sacrificing your lives!” At the heart of the myriads of troops, three ant queens reverently guarded the ant king, while Beiou, perched upon a throne crafted from the mighty keel of a fearsome dragon, ruled over the land. And it was the four ant heroes who bore the weight of the throne. “My liege, once we seize this final continent, the world will bow before you! You will achieve what even the oldest queen ant could not!” exclaimed an elated queen ant. The dominion over the world lay but a single step away! Another queen, though stirred, retained her composure. “In ancient times, the human race repeatedly faced dire straits under Bertha’s might, yet they managed to overthrow her. Since the advent of the new era, the alchemy prowess of the human race has advanced rapidly. My lord, be cautious of the potential hidden trump cards they may possess.” Observing Beiou’s unwavering countenance, the queen ant breathed a sigh of relief. This king was exceedingly ruthless—any misplaced word from the queen ant would result in her demise. Continuing, she suggested, “As a precaution, we should unleash the full might of our army, employing sheer numbers to force out their last stronghold!” With a disdainful smile, Ant King Beiou retorted, “In this world, apart from the divine relic, the Spear of Destiny, nothing else poses a threat to me!” The three ant queens exchanged glances, recognizing who had spoken out of turn, and fearing another rebuke from the king, hastily ordered the army to hasten its advance. And then… chaos erupted! The vanguard of soldier ants had already reached striking distance, and the detonations reverberated, engulfing the battlefield. The thunderous cacophony of explosions resonated through the air as the once vibrant landscape turned to a canvas of smoke and gunfire. Within a minute, a hundred thousand soldier ants lay dead. Shattered limbs and wreckage littered the earth, obscuring its natural hues. Yet, the colossal ant warriors continued to surge forward, an unyielding tide of darkness and despair. The ant army advanced, marching relentlessly toward their demise, but this time, their gains were meager. No retreat was permitted for the human forces; they fought with their backs against the wall, unleashing their deadliest arsenal. Even experimental weaponry still in development saw the light of day, including forbidden cannons whose destructive power ravaged both humanity and nature. Though these cannons were formidable, their use came at a heavy price—their shots permanently eradicated life within a thousand-meter radius. The human race would only resort to such desperate measures as a last resort. With their entire lineage on the verge of extinction, the aftermath was of little concern. Suddenly, a deafening roar reverberated throughout the chaotic battlefield. “Has the Ant King arrived?” wondered Beiou, his hand crashing down on the armrest. “Do not dare to disrespect a dying man!” A mighty gust of wind erupted into the heavens, propelling the Ant King’s body upward. A surge of raw energy coursed through his entire being, engulfing him in an aura of darkness akin to the depths of the sea. With an intense glare, he fixed his gaze upon the figure cloaked in silver, a seething malice emanating from his blood-red eyes. Gai Feng, adorned with a divine leaf clasped around his neck and wielding the Spear of Destiny tightly in his right hand, stood resolute in his formidable battle armor. He aimed the gleaming spear towards the Ant King, his voice resonating with authority, “Do you truly desire the annihilation of all races as the devouring ants rampage across the world?” For the first time, a grave seriousness flickered within the Ant King’s eyes as he locked his gaze onto the silvered spear. “The aura it exudes… it resembles the breath of the slate of truth. It truly is the Spear of Destiny,” he muttered under his breath. Ignoring the Ant King’s silence in response to the question posed by the mightiest champion of the human race, Gai Feng continued his tirade, “You must comprehend that every existence follows a predetermined path. Should you lead the devouring ants in exterminating innocent lives, your own demise is inevitable. At the culmination of the ancient era, even God did not hesitate to bring destruction upon the sacred tree!” Gai Feng cast a piercing gaze upon the Ant King, his voice laced with righteous indignation, “Why should I even bother explaining myself to you? Natural selection, the survival of the fittest, is the supreme law! The weak and feeble of every race must be eradicated, leaving only the devouring ants to reign supreme over the world! Furthermore—” Interrupting with an air of disdain that echoed throughout the world, Bei Ou bellowed, “Who dares to impede my path? If God himself dares to unleash thunder upon me, I shall defy the heavens with my bare hands! My fate lies solely within my grasp!” — END OF THE CHAPTER — [Join Our Discord for regular updates and have fun with other community members: https://discord.com/invite/SqWtJpPtm9 ]
