My Naughty Fake Bride - 100 She’s Back
At least now they knew why Wang Jin had wanted to walk down, and it wasn’t to keep Han Jie as a friend. Well, he doesn’t know the exact details why there was a sudden accident but, Bai Min trusted Han Jie wouldn’t deliberately hurt someone like this.
‘Well her anger tantrums are most of the time childish,’ Bai Min thought to himself. Aside from that, the height difference was so much, Bai Min knew that his friend would not be a coward to insinuate a fight if there was no one around.
Also Bai Min understood that since Wang Jin was hurt, there was no way she would help them look for Suzuki Kyou’s current whereabouts.
The elevator doors glided open silently but the motion had brought Bai Min out of his thoughts to what was going on around him.
Han Jun had gestured for Jonah to get in first before Han Jie, and then he got in too. He then stood next to Bai Min. So close for Bai Min’s comfort. Han Jun then pressed a number for the floor just below them.
Bai Min opened his mouth to comment on the choice of floors before immediately closing it. Han Jun was smiling, the sparkle in his eyes shinier than ever. So unusual of him, but because of this, Bai Min knew then that there was a plan.
Han Jie opened her mouth to speak before closing it again. Han Jun had already pressed the button for the next floor, not the third floor. Han Jie frowned intently at the elevator doors. Suddenly it glided open.
“This floor has four elevators instead of two like the other floors, and you should be able to get one to take you up.” Han Jun said as he gently pushed Han Jie out of the elevator.
Han Jie turned to look at Han Jun, her eyes flashing before she saw her cousin’s expression. He was trying to conceal a smile, and he was really bad at it.
‘He was clearly making fun of me,’ Han Jie incredulously thought as she shook her head.
“I guess I’ll see you when you all come up then.” Han Jie said as she got out of the elevator, clearly sulking.
“Sure.” Han Jun said before bursting into laughter.
Bai Min bit the inside of his cheek to keep himself from laughing. He heard a choked sound from behind him, and he knew Jonah had forced his laughter down.
She then has a sudden inspiration. In her imagination, there was Suzuki Kyou, who gave Han Jie asked a small smile that mesmerized her. The smile was full of mischief.
‘I need that for my manga.’ Han Jie thought, but as the elevator doors shut in her face. It was sad that he is with MeiMei now… She thought about the elevator before turning to scan the bank of elevators around her.
The hotel building was owned by Suzuki Corp. Han Jie was contemplating the possibility of being monitored by Suzuki Kyou this way.
With that in mind, Han Jie looked around for the camera. When she spotted it, Han Jie made ‘fuck you’ dirty hand sigh.
‘What if he hide MeiMei somewhere I can’t reach?’ Han Jie was terrified of that idea.
Going back to the current situation, Han Jie knew she had two options, go down and don’t miss any of the impending fun or go up and see if she could try to talk again with Suzuki Kyou.
‘Well, that’s not even a choice.’ Han Jie thought as she tapped on the button to take her up and waited for the elevator.
She wasn’t really sure what he was going to do or say if she managed to talk to him again. Earlier, his ton had been neutral, but every word was so against Han Jie.
‘My fiancé will live with me from now on to make sure she can’t run away.’
‘You can continue pretending to be her to chase away paparazzi.’
‘Do it properly, and else I won’t let you see your sister again.’
Those were the sentences he had said earlier. This meant as well that he already knew everything.
Han Jie was so annoyed that he did not even shout at her or bother asking her why.
Also, Han Jie had passed out during the possible epic reaction to finding out about her sister. Suzuki Kyou didn’t even show any ounce of care.
She took a step to side physically to let the people in the elevator to pass and mentally because she wasn’t ready to deal with the thoughts of Suzuki Kyou’s not giving a hint of reaction towards her family’s lies.
Han Jie got into the elevator, and her head bowed to avoid the people in the elevator. She really didn’t want to talk to anyone right now.
She stepped out of the elevator in relief and rushed into the suite. She looked around the empty living room, surprised. They were never alone regardless of where they were, so where was the guard that was supposed to be here?
Han Jie heard someone clear their throat from behind her, and she let out a startled scream before swinging around.
The guard winced at the shrill sound of her scream and took a step back, rubbing his ear.
“Sorry to startle you miss,” The guard said.
Han Jie swallowed heavily and let out a sigh of relief.
“It’s nothing. Sorry about that.” Han Jie said, nodding at the guard’s ear.
“It’s no problem, miss. I believe your father and sister are still in the room.” The guard said, dropping his hand from his ear and looking like his usual unflappable self.
Han Jie stopped her tracks, “You mean my sister is here?” She could not believe what she was hearing. “How could that be? And where’s everyone?” She asked suspiciously.
“We wrestle assigned to take the floor each immediately you left with your guest. Your father would have briefed me if he was leaving.” The guard said, almost defensively.
Han Jie looked up at the guard with a small smile. “I’m sorry. I’ll just go check on them then.” She said hurriedly.
The guard gave a small nod of acknowledgment. Han Jie almost ran out of the living room at the pace she was going.
Han Jie guessed which room her sister would be in and opened the door to her room. She was right. Her sister was there.
She was laying as still as a statue. But she was breathing. That was all that mattered. Han Jie leaned against the doorpost, her legs suddenly too weak to hold her up. She was glad her sister was okay. It was just seconds ago that Han Jie worries about her, and now Mei Mei is already here.
Han Feng looked at the door. His other daughter was leaning heavily on the post, her eyes closed, and her face a picture of relief.
“Jie’er.” Han Feng called out to his daughter.
Han Jie looked at her father with a small smile.
“She’s home, father, isn’t she?” Han Jie asked her voice was betraying her vulnerability. She could still remember Suzuki Kyou’s threat. Thankfully he was lying.
“Of course, Jie’er. Won’t you come in?” Han Feng asked, looking at his daughter in concern.
Han Jie opened her mouth to speak when someone walked in, or the whole lot of someones. Han Jie shook her head.
“I’ll be in the living room.” Han Jie said, stepping away from the doorpost. She glanced at her sister before shutting the door and walking back to the living room.
Of course, if Han Mei is in the suite, that means he was here too. Suzuki Kyou was sitting in the living room, as if waiting for them.
Aside from him, Han Jun, Jonah, and Bai Min were back and there in the living room as well. All of them looked a little worse for wear except for Han Jun, who had a calculating look in his eyes.
Their trip had been seemingly uneventful until they had met the doctor who had come to take Wang Jin.
‘This doctor looks at his patient weirdly,’ Bai Min was thinking.
Everyone sat quietly. The silence was heavy.
“Everyone leave. Except for you, Jonah and Uncle,” Han Jun said, staring intently at Suzuki Kyou. Han Jie silently asked as she glared at Han Jun.
