My Naughty Fake Bride - 73 Iron Deficiency
Han Mei turned around quickly and run. Han Jie would like to curse at herself for being fat and not fast enough to chase.
She tried to run after her. However, she was not even in more than ten steps before Han Jie could reach out to her sister, and she was getting dizzy.
When her vision blurred, Han Jie felt herself falling on the ground.
“Miss! Miss! Get a hold of yourself!” Jonah yelled when he saw her fall forward.
Jonah reached for Han Jie’s rapidly falling body cursing quietly under his breath. He then looked at the woman that Han Jie was chasing, as she stopped midway and looked back.
He could not understand what was going on. However, he needed to take care of Han Jie first.
Jonah had never seen Han Jie act such a delicate person until she met Suzuki Kyou.
‘What is happening to her?’ Jonah thought worried. Thankfully he had caught Han Jie and swung her up into his arms like a bride.
He looked at the other woman Han Jie had been talking to again.
Who knew when she approached them, but when she saw Jonah looking at her, she stumbled quickly over to the clothes rack before leaning heavily on it.
Jonah could barely see her face thanks to the large stylish sun hat covering her face, but he could see her lips moving as she mumbled something to herself.
“Are you OK?” Jonah asked, stepping forward slightly, almost forgetting Han Jie in his arms.
The woman tugged at the hat to pull it lower over her face, still mumbling to herself.
“Miss… ” Jonah started to repeat his question before cutting himself off.
The woman trembling in front of him was small, a little taller than Han Jie, but not by much, she turned her face away from Jonah, but there were still very many similarities between Han Jie and the woman.
She had blond hair and wearing big sunglasses. Her black dress was loose and way bigger than her, and at a first glance it would give the impression that she was on the heavier side.
The woman was wearing something that looked like what Han Jie would use as a disguise.
‘Almost as though she’s Miss Han Jie’s twin.’ Jonah thought to himself. It was just a flitting thought, but then froze. Jonah blinked, and then he blinked again. There was like an explosion of realization inside his head.
It was Han Jie’s twin, and she had painted her usual discrete initials on her nails.
“Miss Han…” Jonah started to say.
The woman shook her head. “Bring her to the clinic or hospital.” She said before she turned her back away from him and immediately hurried out, probably knowing full well that Jonah could not follow her.
Jonah gritted his teeth and took several steps back, still looking in the direction Han Mei went.
Jonah knew he should be aware of his surroundings, but he couldn’t even see the woman who was helping him.
“Thank you,” Jonah mumbled to the woman who helped him as he carefully placed Han Jie on the big, probably uncomfortable, leather sofa.
He leaned back away from Han Jie, mentally urging her to wake up before Han Mei got away.
Jonah knew it was almost illogical for him to expect that they could still catch Han Mei, but he still urged Han Jie on anyways.
“Here’s a washcloth and some cold water,” began a woman standing beside Jonah.
Jonah was startled out of his thoughts. He looked up at the woman, but for the life of him, he couldn’t remember her. She was probably the woman who had led him to the dressing area.
“Thank you,” Jonah mumbled, accepting the washcloth, and the bowl was placing it on the small stool the woman just cleared. Han Mei told him to bring Han Jie on a clinic, and he would do it in a bit when he gets a hold of himself.
Jonah smiled gratefully at her, making the woman blush and bowed her head. He dipped the washcloth in the water before wringing it and placing it on Han Jie’s forehead.
“Fainting spells are hard on a pregnant woman, or this usually just means an iron deficiency though. I recommend… ” the woman trailed off, flushing red at Jonah’s look.
Jonah felt baffled at the woman’s path of thinking before flushing too.
“She’s not –”
“I didn’t mean to –”
They both stopped speaking at the same time and stared at each other.
“Ladies first,” Jonah said, carefully turning his face away to keep his laughter in.
‘Who thought I would like to laugh today?’ Jonah said, swallowed his chuckle. There was no way, Han Jie was pregnant. With all the nosebleed recently, it would really make sense that she has an iron deficiency, instead.
“I didn’t mean to overstep, sir, and I’m sorry.” the woman said apologetically.
“No need to worry, Jess,” Jonah began solemnly after reading her name tag, making the woman blush harder.
“She is not pregnant, and it’s all good.” Jonah finished as he dipped the washcloth back into the water. He would give Bai Min a call to give him a head’s up. They will absolutely drop by at the clinic today.
While he was thinking, Han Jie already began to wake up slowly. She was blinking ever so slowly, before she began to push herself up to a sitting position.
“Careful, Miss,” Jonah said in concern and also in warning when he saw Han Jie open her mouth to speak.
“Could you please get her a glass of water? It looks like we wouldn’t need these anymore.” Jonah said, trying to discreetly get rid of the woman to give Han Jie privacy.
The woman nodded eagerly, hurrying to leave the room after her embarrassment.
Han Jie sat up fully and put her hands on her head.
“Headache?” Jonah asked in concern. He then fished out his phone from his pocket and added, “I will call Doctor Bai.”
Han Jie nodded. She would get an earful from Bai Min, but with the incident, she already realized that she could not take her health as a joke.
“We couldn’t catch her.” Han Jie said bitterly. If she did not almost pass out, probably she had already caught Han Mei.
“We’ll get her at another time, miss,” Jonah said softly.
“But when?” Han Jie asked sadly, tears filling her eyes. She was not even able to talk to her sister, even for a little to know and know if she was alright.
“Soon, miss,” Jonah said. “At least you don’t need to formulate a plan to go to City S. If she was here, it only means she was preparing to meet you probably.”
Han Jie felt better when she heard of Jonah’s words. The mere fact that she was in the same building, the same store as her sister, means she was not completely trying to hide.
‘Probably, I caught her off guard?’ Han Jie thought to herself. Then she tried to recall what she did when she saw Han Mei, and realized bitterly, ‘I did probably scare her off?’
She could guilty recall her enthusiasm to grab Han Mei and felt really dejected
“Where’s my…” Han Jie spoke but trailed off as the woman bustled back in, bringing a glass of water and her purse.
“Thank you, Jess,” Jonah said, standing to accept the glass and purse. He just finished calling Bai Min.
Han Jie smiled appreciatively at the other woman before drank the water greedily before handing the glass back to Jonah.
Jess blushed and left immediately, giving them back their privacy.
Han Jie searched through her purse until she found her phone. She stared at it for a while before dialing Han Mei’s number.
It went straight to voicemail.
“I think I saw you today. Talk to me, please. I won’t like a tiger next time… I miss you, Mei Mei. Call me.” Han Jie left the voice mail message looked at Jonah.
“Are we not telling your father about this? Han Jun would be going to City S after all.” Jonah reminded as he helped Han Jie stand up.
“Oh…” Han Jie remembered, but a mischievous idea popped inside her head. “Don’t tell him yet, because what if she suddenly drove back to City S cause we made her scared?” She said, persuading Jonah.
