My Naughty Fake Bride - 77 Engagement Date
Just like Jonah, Wang Jin was also surprised when she heard the offer.
“Really?” Wang Jin breathed looking weary.
“Yes.” Han Jie said, snatching Wang Jin’s cell phone. She added the contact and saved it.
“I’ll call him and tell him to be ready for you.” Han Jie said, smiling excitedly.
“But won’t Suzuki Kyou know?” Wang Jin said, whispering Suzuki Kyou’s name. She was not really keen to work for someone, but it was also not a bad thing when there was another alternative. After all, since the scandal, her father was giving her cold shoulders. What if he suddenly decided to stop her credit cards because he was annoyed?
“I don’t think he still has time to dabble in things like this,” Han Jie said, waving Wang Jin’s words away.
Wang Jin stared at her phone with wide eyes before hugging Han Jie tightly. “Thank you, Han Mei, and for this your dress, and it is on me.”
Han Jie laughed before she thanked Wang Jin, while still ignoring Jonah. He was still looking like she committing a grave mistake. She felt that he looked adorable.
If Jonah knew what he was thinking, who knows how he will react to it.
The drive going back to the hotel did not take so long. Wang Jin insisted on going to the Suzuki Offices via cab, so they really did not insist anymore.
In the bathroom, Han Jie finished her makeup and stared at the dress Wang Jin and Jonah had approved of. Because of this, Han Jie was surprised that they had both settled on something without glaring at each other first. It was also something she liked, as well.
Good thing they have chosen, else Han Jie thought they were going to be in the boutique for the whole day. Earlier, shoe shopping had been relatively easy compared to the hours they had spent on clothes only.
Han Jie stood pushing away from the mirror as she swayed toward the hanging dress. She was no longer feeling weak compared to when she woke in the morning.
Since she was alright, Han Jie decided to invite him for dinner instead to make for her absence the night before. It was just a casual dinner, and thankfully he agreed.
Han Jie was only swaying now to the beat of the love song in her head while preparing. Han Jie knew she wasn’t so into Suzuki Kyou as well as possibilities to be truly with him, but she still danced to the love song for him. Well, her emotions about him were always unclear from the very beginning.
Earlier, Jonah and Wang Jin had finally settled on the black sleeveless dress Han Jie had first picked when they had gotten to the boutique. The dress was slim fitted to her figure, and it gave her an actual cleavage.
Han Jie grinned seductively at herself in the mirror and twirled in front of the mirror.
The shoes were black strappy sandals with the right amount of height to make the shoes comfortable and giving her the right amount of height to make her feel good.
When she was ready, she got out of her room and went to the dining room, where her father was most of the time. Suzuki Kyou should be arriving soon, so she wanted to let her father know.
She was not far from the dining room when Han Jie could hear voices. She got close carefully, hoping to scare whoever was there. Then she heard the voices continued and froze.
“– would be announced after the date.” Suzuki Kyou was saying.
“It would be too soon after.” Han Feng replied.
“There should be no problem with Han Mei.” Suzuki Kyou said firmly.
“How about we meet in the middle?” Han Jun said, placating them both.
“What do you mean?” Han Feng asked, grudgingly less ready to compromise.
“We’ll host your engagement party in two days’ time.” Han Jun said.
There was a brief silence. Han Jie wished she could see their faces.
“I accept.” Suzuki Kyou said formally.
Han Feng released a deep breath as if he was resigned. “Then I guess it’s settled.” He spoke.
Just as he said that Han Jie made it a point to show herself suddenly. The men weren’t even startled.
“Hello, I’m ready.” Han Jie said with a bright smile.
Suzuki Kyou looked at her from head to toe briefly, with a small smile. He then stood up and walked towards her.
“I’m sorry. We can’t leave tonight.” Said gruffly.
“Oh… Why?” Han Jie asked Han Jie’s smile seemed to increase.
There a short silence, “Something came up. I will make it up to you next time.” He said softly before his hand reach out and pat her head. “Your natural hair color looks the best.”
Hearing the compliment, Han Jie could not help but grin. “Thank you. Are you going to stay for dinner?”
“I can’t. I will see you later, okay?” He said in a whisper. Suzuki Kyou’s eyes did not leave her since the beginning, and it was still the case.
“Of course.” Han Jie subconsciously replies.

Hours later…
Wang Jin stood in front of the wall to floor window in a bedroom, staring out at the sight that made renting the apartment so expensive without actually seeing it. She was holding her smartphone tightly in her hands, almost crushing it with the force of her hold.
She was physically in her room but mentally as far away as she could be. Her mind was wandering as far as Han Jie’s hotel room to be precise.
Wang Jin knew there was going to be party set for tomorrow evening between and Han Mei and Suzuki Kyou. It was their engagement. Her nose wrinkled in disgust at the thought.
She scratched her head with her other hand as she wondered how she was going to wrangle an invite on such short notice.
Receiving such an invite for a reporter would have been guaranteed if the reporter was good with her job. No, Wang Jin corrected herself. Gu Xi had been great with her job.
It was why Suzuki Kyou had got her fired.
Wang Jin knew Gu Xi’s articles had evoked enough emotions for the world to notice her. For Suzuki Kyou to notice her. Gu Xi just did not have a plan like her.
It was why she didn’t really blame the idiot that had put in her real name instead of the alias.
Wang Jin stood up straighter. It was a good thing that Gu Xi did it instead, though. If Wang Jin did it personally, he would have noticed her style of writing at any time because he knew all about her as she knew all about him.
She was sure about it. Wang Jin bit her lip and looked out the sight again.
Why had she left Suzuki Kyou? They had grown up together, their families had expected them to marry, all had been going well, but her bother decided to mess things up, then she left, feeling disgusted with both of them.
She could not help but rub the worried lines of her forehead as disappointment flowed through her.
Wang Jin turned away from the window and walked to the pristine bed. Her eyes are wandering around the room as she tried to avoid the question in her mind.
Everything in the room was white, from the covers in the bed to the painting of the room.
The room had absolutely no decorations, and it looked like no-one lived there. There were no clothes on the floor or hanging out from the walk-in closet, and she liked it, just like how she liked the owner of it.
Yes, this wasn’t her place. But she was determined to have it soon. ‘Maybe I should have tried harder before and try to understand him more… Now I know that something is very wrong with him.’ Wang Jin thought as she stared uncomprehendingly at the bed before sitting down carefully.
‘What could I have done to change anything? When he came back that way?’ Wang Jin thought, pushing the blame away from herself.
Regardless of, that was all in the past, and she wanted to let him know that she still wanted him just like before.
With that in mind, Wang Jin stepped out of his room, waited for him in the living room, sitting on the sofa, still wearing sexy lingerie.
