My Naughty Fake Bride - 84 Surprise Visi
Han Mei got out of the shower after a few minutes. She was in a hurry even when she was preparing. Despite being in a hurry, she knew the need to disguise herself still. Of course, she could not do Han Jie’s way of disguising.
Her sister loved to look shocking, too shocking in fact, to the point that even when someone notices some resemblance, it would immediately go out of the window for being impossible.
When she was ready to go, she then realized that she didn’t know where Suzuki Kyou worked.
Han Mei shook her head at her ridiculousness and got her laptop. Thank God she hadn’t turned it off. The Suzuki offices were in one word, daunting.
She swallowed hard and decided she wasn’t going to eat anything before her task. Or she was going to throw up all over the intimidating owner of said offices.
Han Mei ordered a taxi from the house and sighed over the price. It could not be helped since it would be hours away. She was just glad that she hadn’t bought the dress she had wanted when she had bumped into Han Jie.
The price would have forced her to go to an ATM or go hungry. Han Mei knew there was no way she was going hungry.
While inside the taxi, she was nervously fidgeting and still thinking what to do or how to persuade Suzuki Kyou to call off the engagement. Personally, she knew that the Han family could not do it as there would be a very big disadvantage.
It did not take long for her to arrive at her destination. Han Mei stood in front of the offices, particularly glad about her decision not to eat before coming out here after the taxi had dropped her off.
Han Mei began to panic.
What was she thinking?
What if Han Jie was here too? Or even Han Feng?
Worse, would be Han Jun or her father?
The whole plan was going to blow up in her face. However, she knew one thing. Suzuki Kyou would think her family lied to him.
That should be enough for him to let her off, right? Han Jie was partially innocent too. Keyword, partially.
After releasing multiple deep breaths, Han Mei shrugged off her panic and pushed the main door open.
The receptionist waved at her and smiled hugely. Han Mei was so glad about the woman’s reaction she smiled and gave a little wave in return. Her relief was so great Han Mei thought she could taste it on her tongue.
Han Mei walked to the bank of elevators, not even knowing where Suzuki Kyou’s office was but not caring. She’ll figure it out, or it was very easy to guess, since the boss was always on the last floor. However, she still decided to ask someone.
With that in mind, Han Mei was about to get into one of the elevators when she heard someone call out to her.
“Miss!” The man fairly shouted, startling the people around, including Han Mei. Han Mei glanced back and noticed the man bearing down at her. A big smile on his face.
He wore a very expensive looking office suit, because of this, she was sure that the man was not part of the security. Han Mei figured she would give him a couple of minutes not because she was avoiding Suzuki Kyou or anything.
“Good morning, miss.” The man said eagerly, his eyes shining with something that made Han Mei’s skin crawl at this.
“Hello,” Han Mei said, taking a small step back from the man. She then asked, “Eh, do I know you?” She asked, trying to be polite.
The man looked was looking at her with so much emotion as he was madly in love with her. More emphasis on the madly. ‘But I am not familiar with this guy.’ She thought to herself. The other possibility was Han Jie.
He chuckled at that, “You already forgot about me? I still have your gloves miss,” The man said before he began thrusting the glove at Han Mei.
Han Mei sincerely wished she didn’t have to collect the glove. She wasn’t sure she wanted to touch it. “Thank you, but I have to go now.” She said as she swirled around, ready to jump into any elevator. The man was that creepy.
“Let me help.” The man said from too close behind her. Han Mei jumped into the elevator.
Thankful that it was empty. The man leaned in and pressed the button for the last floor on top. “Eh? I did not tell you where I was going…” She said.
He chuckled again, but this time, it looked forced, “You are the big boss fiancé. You are in the papers. Of course, no need to ask where you are going.” He said. Just as he said that, the elevator door opened.
Han Mei nodded, thanks. She was more pleased when the elevator doors slid shut, and she couldn’t see the man’s face anymore who did not step in.
She was so nervous when she reached the very top floor. It was were Suzuki Kyou’s office located. It was only passed 3 PM, and that means he was still in the office, right?
When Han Mei stepped out of the elevator, the man at the desk in front of Suzuki Kyou’s office smiled at Han Mei brightly. She was forced to smile back. The greeting was so welcoming. Another woman also greeted her brightly. She was probably the secretary.
It seems like the people in his office were very familiar with ‘her.’ Han Jie probably visited a lot, and she did a good job getting to everyone’s good side.
Han Mei was not sure if that was something she could be happy with or not. At the end of the day, she needed to break the engagement, and it might upset a lot of people.
“Is Suzuki Kyou in the office?” She asked carefully.
“Oh! Miss Han. Yes, the boss is in. I did not get any message that you will be dropping by. Do you plan to surprise him?” Another man said, his voice laced with playfulness. He was wearing glasses and just stepped out of the room. Han Mei thought that he was Suzuki Kyou’s assistant.
Han Mei smiled before answering, “I hope it is alright, and he is not busy.”
“All good. You can get in this time.” Assistant Ye said. He felt that something was amiss with Han Mei this time, but did not comment on it further.
“I forgot. Chocolate muffins are here, and Miss Han will love those. I’ll get them for you and bring it in.” The other man on the desk said.
Han Mei smiled at the man and continued to follow Assistant Ye to Suzuki Kyou’s office.
Suzuki Kyou sat behind an enormous desk that intimidated whoever was coming in through his doors. This included Han Mei. She was already so nervous that she felt like she could spit her heart out soon. The only thing that calms her down was the fact that she is pregnant and could not be so stressed.
It was still a great struggle to relax.
“Hi,” She called out softly. The man behind the desk was really handsome. He looked sharp and cold in the newspaper. It was the type of aura the Suzuki Family members always have. They looked reserved and proud at the same time.
It was not so bad. However, in her current condition, it would be impossible for her to continue the engagement. She just doesn’t know why she was chosen to get married to him. There were other women in the Han family that would be more than willing. Of course, she won’t vote for her sister cause Han Jie was too carefree for a retrained life in the Suzuki Family.
Suzuki Kyou nodded at her with a soft smile on his face. This actually surprised Han Mei greatly. His expression was like someone who cares.
Her thoughts were interrupted when the assistant buzzed in dropped off the chocolate muffins and what appeared to be a milkshake.
Han Mei looked at the food and smiled at it forcefully. She doesn’t like sweets much and always blames it for her lack of sleep.
“You don’t like it?” Suzuki Kyou suddenly asked.
“Oh… Sorry, I don’t like sweet-” Han Mei started but halted. Probably due to her nervousness, she forgot that Han Jie would giggle like a schoolgirl in front of sweets…
