My Naughty Fake Bride - 87 Played Like A Fool
Suzuki Kyou looked at Assistant Ye expressionlessly, “Can the PR team handle it if I break her legs, instead?” He asked as he leans back to his office chair.
Assistant Ye chuckled nervously, “Don’t joke like that, sir.” He said.
“Heh. Joking, you say?” Suzuki Kyou asked, before replying weirdly, “I can consider tying her up and cage her instead.”
“That’s illegal, sir, and not fun at all,” Assistant Ye said, still trying to laugh at it nervously. His big boss had been acting weird since they had dealt with Han Mei. Suzuki Kyou was suspicious was something was not right and had been observing. It seemed that he was right, but did not explain things further with Assistant Ye.
Because of this, Assistant Ye was doing the same, observing. Before, Han Mei was not really showing any signs that she wanted to cancel the engagement, or probably Assistant Ye missed it.
By looking at his big boss attitude, Suzuki Kyou was mad but not surprised entirely. ‘So what is going on?’
While he was thinking things through, Assistant Ye could not help but look to the other parts of the office. He then noticed the food that was bought in for Han Mei.
It did not looked touched at all. Han Mei probably hadn’t even moved it or tries to from the position it might have been put it. Assistant Ye almost scratched his head at the oddity.
“She didn’t even touch the muffin? I thought your fiancée inhaled sugar,” Assistant Ye jokingly asked as he walked forward towards the mess on the floor.
Suzuki Kyou suddenly stood up and walked towards Han Mei’s position earlier.
Crash!
It was the sound of another glass shattering. That was because when he arrived at Han Mei’ seat earlier, he immediately picked up the glass of milkshake and threw it at the wall behind Assistant Ye, startling the other man, silly.
“I guess I’ll come back later to fix it,” Assistant Ye said as he turned around to brisk out of the room.
“Have some people follow her.” Suzuki Kyou called out before his assistant could leave. Assistant Ye gave a brief nod as he barely concealed his surprise and shut the door.
Suzuki Kyou smiled coldly as the door shut behind assistant Ye. He knew the other man had wanted to run out of the room the minute he had thrown the glass, but assistant Ye hadn’t, immediately.
Well, he could never hurt his staff, but Assistant Ye and his drive were the only ones that could handle his bad mood. They were the best-paid staff to ever work for him.
Suzuki Kyou shoved both hands through his hair in a gesture of hopelessness before burying his face in his hands.
Throwing the cup had released some of the anger gathering in the storm cloud within him, but it was not enough.
The Han Mei that he was thinking of most was the fake one. Twins have the same face but different attitudes. After all, they were still different people.
However, it was just confusing for him because the woman that just visited was claiming seemed so different from how Han Mei used to be.
She said she is Han Mei, ‘and I could not do anything about that?’ Suzuki Kyou wondered. He had been testing Han Mei long ago as he felt that she was fake.
That was one of the reasons he did not break her pretty little neck when she told him about the pregnancy. Now, he was still conflicted.
Then he heard the phone continue to ring. Feeling annoyed, he grabbed the phone and checked who it came from. The caller ID indicated that it was Wang Jin was calling.
Suzuki Kyou threw his cellphone back on his desk and leaned back on his chair again. He didn’t even send the call to voice mail. He then rubbed his temples as he tried to let his heart catch up with his head.
Not giving him any peace, his phone began to ring again.
Suzuki Kyou cursed viciously before holding the cellphone up. Wang Jin was calling again. He rubbed his eyes as he cursed viciously again before answering the phone, finally.
“What?” Suzuki Kyou asked curtly, not in the mood for Wang Jin’s flirtation and self-centered topics of conversation. “Don’t tell me you wanted to thank me for not inviting you for last night’s party?” He asked casually, but tauntingly.
There was a long silence from the other line before Wang Jin started to speak, “Is that how to greet an old friend?” She asked teasingly, not in the least bothered by Suzuki Kyou’s greeting.
“What do you want?” Suzuki Kyou said semi repeating his question.
“All the things I want, I’m sure you can give my darling.” Wang Jin said, her voice is dropping into a low flirtatious purr.
“Get to the point.” Suzuki Kyou bit out, and impatience colored his voice with every word he spoke.
“Does she know you have so many emotions, Kyou?” Wang Jin asked smugly like irritating him was a thing of joy.
Suzuki Kyou removed the cellphone from his ear, ready to cut the call as he was already tired of hearing Wang Jin speak.
“Wait!” Wang Jin must have yelled because Suzuki Kyou could hear her clearly, though not as loudly as when he had had the phone pressed against his ear.
Suzuki Kyou rose a brow slightly amused. He was getting predictable, he thought as he raised the cellphone back to his ear.
‘Why am I even talking to you still?’ He thought to himself silently.
‘Right. She said, try to talk to this woman.’ He was referring to the Han Jie helping out Wang Jin last time. This thought made him unhappy further. ‘Why am I doing what she wants?’ He wondered in annoyance.
“You still there?” Wang Jin asked, sounding a little breathless and put out. Her voice cut off Suzuki Kyou’s thoughts.
“Speak.” Suzuki Kyou said, already seriously unhappy about the conversation but giving Wang Jin a chance once more. For him, as long as she won’t try to do anything stupid like touching him, it won’t be a problem.
“You don’t have to be so rude.” Wang Jin huffed out before quickly tacking on, “Don’t hang up.”
Suzuki Kyou remained silent as he stared at the stain the chocolate milkshake had left on his pristine white wall.
“I have some information for you about your fiancée.” Wang Jin began, obviously tired of waiting for the reply he had never intended to give.
“Goodbye.” Suzuki Kyou said, let out a disappointed sigh as he moved the phone away from him. ‘What can be worse than knowing your fiancé is pregnant?’
“No! Don’t hang up! It is a really big information!” Wang Jin said so angry loudly.
This caught Suzuki Kyou’s attention. He could almost see her stomping around the room as she tried to control her anger as well.
Suzuki Kyou was still silent. His eyes had wandered away from the stain on the wall to now very cold muffin on his desk. “So?” He asked impatiently when Wang Jin did not speak.
“Fine, I’m going to give you some info you in can check out. You’ll call me when you need the rest.” Wang Jin said, sounding like some sleazy car salesman. Suzuki Kyou controlled the urge to roll his eyes at her antics.
“Speak.” Suzuki Kyou said irritably, annoyed that he had to repeat himself again.
“There are two of them, and they are playing you.” Wang Jin said smugly.
Suzuki Kyou rolled his eyes. He has been doing it more recently, and it was not good for his image. ‘That’s why people call you gay.’ A part of his brain was noted.
“Two of who?” Suzuki Kyou asked distractedly as his heart finally caught up with his brain. ‘Ah, she means the twins all along.’
“Don’t act so scatterbrained my darling. You do know who we were talking about.” Wang Jin said when she noticed the lack of emotions from Suzuki Kyou.
Suzuki Kyou cut the call and returned his phone carefully back to his desk, his eyes on the muffin before him. ‘There were two of them, two.’ It was old news.
It still did not remove the fact that he was played at and was treated as a fool.
