My Naughty Fake Bride - 92 Not A Bad Person
Han Mei felt horrified. ‘What does he mean by that?’ She thought to herself as she subconsciously step back. It must have been so clear in her expression because he suddenly laughed.
She frowned, “What is funny?” Han Mei demanded, definitely more on guard.
Xia Wei chucked as he raised his hands in surrender, “I’m sorry I was just teasing you.” He finally wheezed out after a long uncomfortable while.
Han Mei’s smiled but still strained. “Okay, so seriously, what would you like to have?” She semi repeated as she barely kept her anger in check.
“A cup of coffee, please.” Xia Wei said as he struggled to stop laughing.
Han Mei gave a curtain nod and went to the kitchen. She noted to herself to choose the smallest coffee cup so he could leave soon. ‘He should not be talking for a while, right?’ Han Mei was talking to herself.
Her teeth grazed against each other as she banged around in the kitchen with barely controlled annoyance. ‘That dude is really weird. Why was he laughing? Who laughs at the hostess to her face?’ She fumed as she brewed the coffee and got herself a cup of water.
“Need any help?” Xia Wei said from behind her making Han Mei jump.
‘Why do you keep sneaking up on me?’ Han Mei angrily thought as she turned to him with a glare.
“What in the-No thanks. It’s all good, and I can manage.” Han Mei said, wanting to kick the obnoxious man out of the apartment.
Xia Wei eyes flashed with something she didn’t recognize but sent chills down her spine. Her eyes started to dart around the kitchen as well, looking for something to defend herself in case this man was really up to no good. He turned and looked around the kitchen.
“Your house is very cozy.” Xia Wei said as he made himself coming on one of the tall stools by the kitchen island.
Han Mei gritted her teeth and took his words as a compliment.
“Thank you.” She said before pouring the coffee into a mug and handing it over to Xia Wei, before suggesting, “Let us go back to the living room.”
“Thank you. Aren’t you drinking?” Xia Wei asked her as he sipped his coffee.
“No, I don’t like coffee.” Han Mei said, then drank her water. She then walked towards the living room with him in toll.
“So, what’s the one wish you want granted?” Han Mei asked when she sat on the sofa. She wanted to hurry the conversation up and send Xia Wei out from her house as soon as possible.
Xia Wei softly smiles as he stared at Han Mei before speaking. “Miss Han, I am not a bad person. I know that you see me being aggressive for chasing after you, but I don’t really want to give up without a fight.” He said softly.
Han Mei frowned. She then nodded and spoke, “Not giving up is good…”
She swallowed hard and bent her head, and pretended to be overwhelmed by his words. Han Mei wasn’t naive. She knew deep down he was talking about her, or her sister.
With his words, it seems he was not that harmful. However, there since there was a hidden motive, then it was still not good for him to be around.
Aside from that, if he wanted Han Jie, there was really no need for Suzuki Kyou to get involved. In fact, if he is really sincere, then that would be for the best.
Suddenly, Han Mei had a bright idea. “Please excuse me, for a bit,” Han Mei with a bright smile as she stood up.
He nodded seriously, “Yes, I will. I behave and useful. Do you want me to clean for you while you do your business?” He offered.
She shook her head with a strange expression. Han Mei was not sure whether to laugh or cry. This Xia Wei looked like someone who was too rich to even know how to clean. Darn, her and Han Jie was not good at cleaning. A maid is hired for it all the time.
Aside from that, she was also feeling guilty somehow for thinking that he was up to no good earlier. ‘I was ready to stab him at one point…’
Han Mei was still thinking this when she got to her room and then locking the door. She then texted, “I want to see you, ASAP!” and her address right under it.

Han Jie woke up feeling anxious. Compared to the day before that, she woke up before 6 AM, on that day, though, it was already passed 3 PM. She was just so exhausted the day before.
Remembering the engagement part, she knew the press had most definitely headlined the it that day. There was that aside from the other tabloids talking shit about her.
‘Why did he have to announce it that way?’ Han Jie moaned to herself as she lay dejected on her bed.
Aside from that, most of the things in the news, she had no idea if they were even true. Well, she does trust her sister for being the good girl, so in the end, Han Jie had decided that all negative news was just a bunch of crap.
Han Jie turned on her side and stared at the sketchbooks in front of her on the bedside table and rubbed her forehead.
She had been too hyped up after the engagement to get any work done, and she was most certainly not in the mood for it right now.
Han Jie sighed. She knew her work was suffering, but she couldn’t do anything about it right now. There was way too much on her mind for her to even consider the possibility of work.
‘Even if I’ve had a lot of inspiration.’ Han Jie thought as she brought her hand to her lips to chew on her fingernails.
Han Jie looked at the well-painted nails and shook her head as slowly as she could with her head still on the pillow. Ever since she had become her sister, she had been forced to drop certain habits such as chewing on her nails.
She knew she didn’t miss chewing on her nails. She missed the ink stains on her hands from drawing, though. Han Jie brightly smiled as she remembered the number of times she and her sister had argued about going digital with her manga.
Han Jie had gone digital. But she never really stopped drawing on paper and made her sister believe she hadn’t gone digital.
She lost her smile as the feeling of anxiousness increased. ‘Is Mei Mei in trouble?’ Han Jie thought as she sat up in bed and looked around her room as if searching for her sister.
Han Jie spied her laptop and chewed on her lip as she considered searching what the other articles had to say about the engagement. ‘Is MeiMei able to see it?’ She thought to herself.
‘It is better if she did not…’ She thought as she shook her head if her sister saw that she was going to be panicked.
Han Jie knew she wasn’t going to add to her sister’s worries by checking the news out and panicking herself as well. Her sister ran away from the engagement. She was just sad that she was not yet able to make a deal out of it. Keyword, yet. Han Jie still wanted to talk to Suzuki Kyou about the arrangement after the wedding.
That was her intended plan all along. She was just sidetracked…
Han Jie winced when she realized that it was really the case. She got sidetracked and somehow enjoyed the recent turn of events. ‘MeiMei won’t get mad at me, okay?’ She hopes as she took a deep breath and tried to relax.
‘How do I take my mind off this?’ Han Jie thought as she looked around the room and searched for a distraction.
Someone knocked on her door. ‘Jonah.’ She thought with a bright smile. Now that was the perfect distraction.
“Come in.” Han Jie said loudly, her good mood shining through the door.
Jonah said as he entered the room before he greeted, “Good morning, miss.”
“Good morning Jonah.” Han Jie said, still smiling.
Jonah looked at her suspiciously. “Any agenda for the day?” He asked. Whatever the plan for the day, his only prayer was Han Jie would not go too far.
