My Obsession - 37 I'sm Just A Boss?
Just as Yang Tian-Xu was lost in his thoughts, “Wang Yi-An, just what do you feel about me?” He blurted. Yang Tian-Xu couldn’t believe himself. He was shocked by his own words when he thought about it, “Wait… Did I just… Confess?” He thought to himself.
Yang Tian-Xu felt like he became the stupidest person alive. It was sudden, he had just suddenly asked her about what does she feel for him.
What does he expect her answers to be like? “I… I…” he panicked and started to mumble, “Well, I… Want to know… If you… Ah… Feel… Like… Ah…” His nervousness overwhelmed him.
Yang Tian-Xu couldn’t even think properly! But then, the corner of Wang Yi-An’s lip curled upward as she said. “I feel like you are a great person, President Yang!”
“Say what?” Yang Tian-Xu was dumbfounded, he stood there blinking blankly. Nevertheless, Wang Yi-An continued. “You wanted me to give a good rating for Yang Corps internship program right?” She asked, “Why else would you seem so tense up?”
Why else? Yang Tian-Xu wanted to grab her and throw her down onto the ground and just make love to her. Nonetheless, how could he? Yang Tian-Xu has a very high tolerance for his own frustration.
However, just what can he do? He could only think that perhaps this is a good thing? After all, he didn’t need to make up an excuse and lie to her again. Wang Yi-An just merely didn’t think that his question was a type of confession.
Yang Tian-Xu sighed, and so he articulated, “Yes, I really hope to be able to know about your feelings for Yang Corps before you give your reviews to the school.” He smiled at her charmingly.
In their country, when a company offers an internship for students, they are to be reviewed each month by the students themselves.
Students would fill out an evaluation sheet to the school about how they are to rate a company’s internship program. While the Company would send a weekly report about the student’s progress to the school.
This exchange in communication would help the school and the company to interact with each other on the students’ educations and wellbeing.
Wang Yi-An thought that his question was about this month’s evaluation report on Yang Corps. Nevertheless, it was only Yang Tian-Xu, who knows the truth. Yang Tian-Xu hated himself, he doesn’t want to lie to her. However, the more he loves her, the more he feared rejection.
Wang Yi-An really enjoyed working at Yang Corps, so she smiled at him and told him, “I think Yang Corps are really the best employer.” Yang Tian-Xu felt pitiful, he doesn’t want to be just an employer.
Yet, how could he be greedy? For now, he had decided, he will watch over her just a little bit longer. Perhaps one day he won’t be able to hold it in any longer?
Yang Tian-Xu smiled back at her, and he walks a few steps back to pick up the bag that he had dropped before he rushed over to her aid. Then he turned to look at her as he handed out the small paper bag to her. “This is another point for Yang Corps?”
“What is it?” She asked as she stared at it, he forced it into her hands and said, “It’s a new smartphone, the company decided to give the interns a company phone.”
“Wow, really?” Wang Yi-An was very excited. However, for a moment when she looked at the phone, she paused, and she saw that it was an expensive brand. “I… Can’t take this.”
“Why can’t you?” He was puzzled, how could he think that she would be excited about it at first, and then suddenly refuse the offer.
“The phone I have right now was given to me by someone significant. I can’t…” She said, there was a bit of sadness in her voice when she looked at the new phone in the bag.
Wang Yi-An’s eyes were beginning to tear up. Yang Tian-Xu notices it. He couldn’t help but go over to her side, and he pulled her into his embrace.
Wang Yi-An was shocked by his sudden movement. Wang Yi-An didn’t struggle, nor did she push him away. In fact, she felt like he was comforting her. Yang Tian-Xu’s gentle embrace made Wang Yi-An felt like it was alright for her to feel this way.
The tears in Wang Yi-An’s eyes were let out, and she cried. Yang Tian-Xu let her cry out, but he didn’t say anything. He didn’t ask her why. Yang Tian-Xu only wanted to keep holding her in his arms as she cried.
Even though Yang Tian-Xu wanted to know, but he won’t ask. Yang Tian-Xu suddenly remembered the first time he saw her crying. It was that time when she talked to Assistant Tseng about the disappearance of the Medaria. Wang Yi-An had once mentioned that she also had someone important to her on that missing flight.
Perhaps the old phone that Wang Yi-An had been using for a long time now was given to her by this same person? “Just who is it that can make you feel such sadness that causes you to cry?” those are the thoughts of Yang Tian-Xu as he continued to embrace her gently in his arms.
For a while, Wang Yi-An had a good cry; she finally stopped, and she looked at him in his eyes and told him. “Thank you. I needed that.”
Wang Yi-An smiled at him, and they shared another moment of silence. Yang Tian-Xu saw Wang Yi-An smiled at him again, and he felt better. At first, when she cried in his arms, he felt a deep pain in his heart. Yang Tian-Xu couldn’t understand why, but every time he saw her tears, he would think like that.
The pain was a sharp aching pain inside his heart. It was as if someone had taken a thousand needles and stabbed him with it repeatedly. That aching pain, he could only imagine that perhaps she was feeling that way too? Yang Tian-Xu smiled at Wang Yi-An, he lifts his right hand up and wipes her tears.
“Anytime you need someone to talk to, or even cry too. I wanted to be here for you.” He gently wiped the other side of her cheek with his finger, and he continued, “I wanted to be there when you needed someone, even if it’s something small.”
As she looked at him, and he felt like he was in a dream, he told her “I want to be a part of it all.” The gentle and caring voice of Yang Tian-Xu had put a stop to her tears.
Yang Tian-Xu wanted to show her just how much he cared for her. Perhaps she could understand his feelings for her this way?
“Thank you, President Yang! You are indeed a good man! An excellent boss!” She said as she gave him a cheer-up smile.
Yang Tian-Xu’s feelings had languished, and so he could only sigh, and smiled back at her. “So I really am just a boss…” he thought to himself as he drowns himself in his misery.
