My Obsession - 83 A Sweet Child
For a moment, Wang Yi-An glared at Liu Shun-Feng, and he stared back at her with his sharp eyes. In which, had misled the two mothers thinking that there was some sort of spark between them.
Liu Shun-Feng took another peak at Wang Yi-An as he saw her looked away, the look she had in her eyes towards him was disdainful. He could feel the hatred she had for him, but yet he still let out a smirk. He took another peek at her before he pretended to look at his smart-phone again.
Wang Yi-An made her way back into the kitchen, and prepared a plate of cookies, she had handmade two-days ago. Before serving the cookies, she placed them inside a small home conventional oven to re-heat. This way the cookies would taste better, while the cookies were heating up, she took out some fruits in the refrigerator, and she started to wash them. She dried them on a clean towel before she starts to cut them up and arranged them on another plate.
Liu Shun-Feng peaked at her every so often. While the two mothers were chit-chatting, without a care in the world. Then after the cookies finished heating up, she transfers them onto a cooler plate, and place both plates on the tray and bring it out. When she walked over back to the dining table, she glared at him again, before she places the two plates on to the table.
“Oh my, your daughter is so wonderful!” Madam Liu was impressed about how caring Wang Yi-An was, as she lay out the snacks for them. Madam Liu admired Mother Wang for having a daughter. She always wanted to have a daughter, but sadly her husband passed away too soon.
Madam Liu watched Wang Yi-An as she placed the plates down, she smiled, and then she had a single thought. “Having a daughter-in-law is just as good. Maybe even better.”
After Wang Yi-An placed the plates down, she stood behind her mother. Without saying anything, she stood there silently while Madam Liu watches her from head to toe, Wang Yi-An had her head down low and began to feel embarrassed, she was even more embarrassed when Madam Liu kept praising her.
“Oh my! You are such a sweet child! Oh, dear, Xiao-Xiao! We should hurry up and become in-laws!” She suggested, with an excited grin, she expressed how happy she would be if Wang Yi-An became her daughter-in-law.
Mother Wang smiled back at her friend, and said, “I would love that to happen too, but your son is a famous idol. I’m sure he has a lot of girls going after him.”
Even though, Mother Wang would love to become in-laws with her best friend. However, she can’t let her daughter suffers. Even though she and Madam Liu had once talked about being in-laws, but that was only because they were young back then. Mother Wang wouldn’t want to force her daughter into marrying a man she doesn’t love.
Also, Mother Wang was worried because she had heard countless rumours about Liu Shun-Feng. How he was a playboy and all. Recently he had a scandal with that uprising actress Tira Kim and the news was going on all over the media. There’s no way that Mother Wang would want that type of husband for her child. All she wanted was Wang Yi-An to have a simple and peaceful lifestyle.
Mother Wang never wishes anything more than for her daughter’s happiness. There’s a saying that a mother will always know their daughters’ strengths and flaws best.
And Madam Liu knows her son well too, he’s a popular idol. He headed into a career she doesn’t want him to be in, but what else could she do. Nothing. She understands how picky her son was when it comes to picking a bride, so she smiles back and said, “Ah, if only that was true. It would be a dream come true, isn’t it? Xiao-Xiao?”
“Mian-Mian, my An-An can’t compare to those super models your son is used to, so it would be impossible for him to even like her. We are friends, isn’t that good enough?”
“Yes, I supposed so, An-An.” Madam Liu called her, “Is it okay if I called you An-An?”
Wang Yi-An was quiet when she nodded. And Madam Liu would smile back. She knew Wang Yi-An would be a bit plain for her son’s taste, so she wouldn’t push it. “If you can, I would love for you to call me Aunty.” She said as she smiled at her.
Wang Yi-An was shy as she nodded, she stuttered, “A… Aunty.”
Madam Liu was delighted to hear Wang Yi-An called her. “Aunty.” She smiled brightly.
“An-An,” then Mother Wang called her, “Why don’t you go buy some more groceries to cook dinner for your Aunty, she loves a home cook meal. She needs a nutritious meal or else she’ll might faint again.
“Yes, yes,” said Madam Liu, “Shun-Feng,” She called for her son, “Why don’t you drive An-An to the market, and help her get some groceries.”
Anyone could see that Madam Liu wanted to create an opportunity for her son and Wang Yi-An to be together. Even though, she doesn’t know that they had met this afternoon. However, it wasn’t a pleasant memory that Wang Yi-An wanted to remember
