My Obsession - 88 Thicker Than Blood
The sounds from those life-support machines, couldn’t keep him alive even if they wanted to, just long enough so he could recover just a bit more. Just enough so he could do another surgery.
But it was too late… The God of Death waits for no one. Not even the hero who risked his own life so save another’s. Mr Yang remembered those beeping sounds, wishing that he could have done something. Just anything!
With his best friend’s last breath he could hear him, even thou there wasn’t much sounds coming out. He could tell what he wanted him to do. “Please take care of them…”
That day, after Liu Wei-Kang had passed away right before their eyes. Mr Yang wanted to do his best to comfort them. He wanted to help her take care of his funeral, he wanted to be there for them. But Madam Liu doesn’t need it.
The six years old Yang Tian-Xu and his mother stood there to side, as she shouted at Mr Yang. “Where were you when my husband came to you for help?! You didn’t help us then, why should we need your help now?!”
It was true… He couldn’t help Liu Wei-Kang at the time, because his father, Yang Bo-Ting, was the one with the power to Yang Corps finances. If his father said, “No, it’s not our business, we can’t do anything about it.” What can he do? What could he do? He could only apologized to his best friend and told him he can’t do anything to help.
At the time Yang Corps was expanding the Yang Corps Building, and they had already invested a lot of money into the building at the time. There was no way they could loan Liu Enterprise money, and it wasn’t a small amount.
Days after, Madam Liu took care of everything herself. She didn’t need the Yang families help. The insurance money that her husband had was barely enough to take care of all the debts, however, it lessen the amount quite a lot. Yet, it still wasn’t enough to help pull the Liu Enterprise’s stocks back up in the market. The stocks had fallen to the point that it’s nothing more than just worthless papers.
With the very little money left over from the life insurance of her husband. Madam Liu took her son and left City Y. She started over at City W.
Over the years, Mr Yang had written a few letters to Madam Liu, asking how she was doing. It took Madam Liu a couple of years to forgive the Yang Family. She knew that her husband’s death had nothing to do with the Yang.
But still, the thoughts stills lingered in her heart, “If they had led a hand back then. He wouldn’t have needed to wandered around. Then he wouldn’t have seen that burning building, then he wouldn’t have jumped in to save that child. Then, perhaps he could still be alive now?”
At often times, people needs to push on the blame to another, just to comfort themselves. Without blaming Yang Fei-Hung, what else could Madam Liu have done to find comfort? She knew she shouldn’t blame him. But time was what she needed to finally get over her husband’s death and moved on.
Mr Yang was delighted to have Madam Liu’s forgiveness. There was many times he would help Madam Liu and Liu Shun-Feng as much as possible, like providing them with a great manufacturer, or referring clientele over to them. Even though all those were done as secretively as possible. Deep down, Madam Liu knew she was receiving some sort of help from the Yang family.
It had been a long time since Madam Liu had returned to City Y. This news excited Mr Yang. Sometimes, he’ll care more for Liu Shun-Feng than Yang Tian-Xu, at often he’ll try to get Yang Tian-Xu to help Liu Shun-Feng out as much. Of course Yang Tian-Xu wasn’t jealous, because he too remembered that very day. It was unforgettable for everyone. But Liu Shun-Feng was very understandable. After that he became even closer friends with Yang Tian-Xu.
Every time Liu Shun-Feng was in City Y for a shooting or some type of photo-shoot, the two of them would hang-out together. Sometimes it would be the three of them, thanks to Jin Qi-Long.
To Liu Shun-Feng, the Yang family was like a second family to him, and Yang Tian-Xu was like an older brother to him. Blood is thicker than water, but the bond that they had was thicker than blood. A brotherhood bond only grew stronger through time. But how strong could that bond be, when Love comes around the corner?
As Yang Tian-Xu finally got home, he greets his parents while they were sitting in the living room of the Yang Manor. They immediately told him of the news. And instantly he messaged Liu Shun-Feng.
