My One And Only - Chapter 44 Birds Of Same Feather Flock Together
After rendering him immobile, Sofya took her phone out of the pocket to call Sawyer. But, alas, there was a crack on it and it won’t power on. Thinking about what to do next, she looked around at the empty parking lot.
Sofya rubbed her arm where he had grabbed her. Red marks could be seen over it where his nails had bit into her flesh, causing her to wince in pain.
Ding!
Sawyer and Nancy rushed out of the elevator towards her. Sofya had never been so glad to see them as she was now.
” Are you all right, Miss? ” Nancy asked her frantically, as she put a leather jacket on her back.
” He didn’t hurt you anywhere else, did he? ”
Sofya nodded her head in denial. Putting on the jacket, she replied scornfully, ” Just my arm. ”
Nancy heaved a sigh of relief. As soon as Mr. Jabari had taken Sofya into the lift, they had rushed to Sawyer’s office. Activating the surveillance of the video, they saw how it had went down between them.
Sawyer was tying the man’s hand and legs with cables, lest he should escape. Putting a tape on his mouth, he forced him into a sitting position.
” Should I take him to the same place? ” He asked Sofya, with a hint of glint in his eyes.
Sofya smiled a little. ” You know the drill. I will be there at night. ”
” And what about Mr. Jabari? ”
“Have someone follow him. After all, birds of same feather flock together. ”
Sawyer grinned. He knew exactly what his boss meant. This was going to be exciting. He couldn’t wait. Driving an ordinary car, he seized the man from behind and threw him in. Looking back at Sofya and Nancy, he nodded before leaving.
Sofya watched the car leave, feeling virtuous. After all the moment was here. Finally, she would be able to find out who wanted to destroy her company, and most importantly destroy her. She had no shortage of enemies. Today she would make them suffer.
” Miss, let’s get your skin cleaned. It has already started to bruise. ” Nancy voiced, bringing Sofya back to present.
Sofya nodded. Together, they got into the elevator to go to her office. Outside the office door, Nancy departed to bring a bowl of clean water and some fresh towels. Pushing her office door, Sofya received a shock.
Arnav was sitting their, smiling at her.
” Wh- What are you doing here? ” she asked him, still unable to process he was really there. Just by looking at him, she realised how much she had missed him in the last two days.
Arnav stood up and went over to where she was standing. Taking her into his arms, he hugged her, inhaling in her scent. Sofya stood silently, not making a sound. Her arm was hurting and tears were welling up in her eyes. Yet, she didn’t dare make a sound. The warm and caring hug was worth all the pain in the world.
Standing like that for two minutes, Arnav broke off. He was startled to see tears in her eyes.
” You silly.. why are you crying? ”
” I am just glad that you are here, that’s all. ” With that she kissed him full on the mouth.
Arnav was caught by surprise, but he responded immediately. Grabbing her waist, he pulled her towards him, their bodies pressed against each other. As his tongue invaded her mouth, Sofya let out a soft moan.
” Hmm.. ”
The sound was enough to arouse his hormonal desires. Unable to control himself any longer, he pushed her roughly against the wall, locking his mouth fiercely with hers. Once he succeeded in opening her jacket, his hand fell on her back part where the blouse was torn. Feeling the soft skin under his hand, Arnav was momentarily confused. As he leaned backwards, breaking the kiss, Sofya panted due to shortage of breath.
” What’s wrong? ”
Arnav looked at her. Her face and neck was flushed. Oh, how he wanted to devour her. But now was not the time. Turning her around slightly, he saw her exposed skin scratched which had even turned reddish.
Frowning he asked her, ” How did this happen? ”
” How did what happen? ” And then she remembered what had went down in the parking lot half an hour ago. She shook her head, at a loss for what to speak. She couldn’t tell him the truth and he disliked anybody lying to him.
