- Chapter 51 The Best Way To Destroy An Enemy Is To Make Him A Friend
” What are you planning to do? ” he asked, his voice quivering slightly.
Sawyer smiled, a devil’s smile. Pretending to choose the torture weapon, he replied slyly, ” Well you know our boss. Sorry, my boss. You are no longer in her employment. She has a saying – The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend. ”
Picking up the whiplash, he said, ” And that’s what I intend to do. ”
The man who was hung up from the ropes, laughed mercilessly. Looking at Sawyer and Nancy with bloodshot eyes, he grimaced, ” You will never get the information that you are looking for. ”
” Maybe, Maybe not. But I think he, ” Nancy shook her head in Mr. Jabari’s direction, ” is more than willing to help us. ”
Walking towards him, she squatted down as her face was only a few inches away, explaining further, ” You see Robert, ” the man’s eyes flickered as she mentioned his name, ” there are only certain category of people in this world who are built or rather moulded to endure the finest techniques of torture. They are over rated when it comes to bearing pain. We know that you are one of those people who has first hand experience and knowledge of this. But I can assure you, we have the means to make even a deranged man such as you talk. Rest assured, your stay here will be comfortable. ”
Mr. Jabari gulped in. He knew that these people, Sofya Khemka’s people were ruthless. But he never thought he would get to see it first hand.
Sawyer handed over the whiplash to one of the bodyguard and screams echoed through out the room, as the recorder was turned on.

Murat was sitting in his office, his brows furrowed as his eyes moved over the file that he was reading. The top of the file was yellow covered with words classified printed in red on top of it. As he read more of what was written on it, his expression changed from curious to disbelief.
He looked up to find his assistant standing attentively in front of him, watching as his expressions changed from one to another.
” Why did you take this case? ” he asked her, his voice emanating disbelief.
” Sir, she requested for it. It looked like she really wanted to get out of it. I guess she’s had had enough? ” the assistant spoke hopefully, a glimmer in her eyes. It was as though she wanted her boss to take up this case. Murat felt something was off or rather there was a connection between the two, but he did not push it.
” Fine. I will see what I can do. ”
” Thank you so much sir. ” With that she was out of his cabin.
Murat stared as she walked away. Looking down, he pondered over the contents of the file. To take up this case would mean two things, both good and bad. For one, he would be saving this lady’s life but it would also mean picking up a fight with one of the most dangerous criminal gangs in New York. Also, his own life could be in danger considering the fact that he had once saved Arnav from their clutches, making him almost a target. If Arnav knew about this, he would have beaten him black and blue.
Sighing, he looked at his watch. It was almost 7 o clock. He was supposed to have dinner with his family tonight, to celebrate another business deal that his father had secured in foreign. After all, it would help in expansion of the Sarsilmaz empire so why not exaggerate it. Intially, Murat had no plans to attend the family dinner but what with the constant crying and wailing of his mother over their differences, he had to give in. It had also been a very long time since he had seen Olivia, his adopted sister. Might as well meet them and get it over with since he was going to be extremely busy in the upcoming weeks. What with the arrival of some of their close school friends for Sofya and Arnav’s wedding and the new law case that he was planning to take upon, he doubted if he would even have time to go on the mission assigned by the Silent.
As he neared the building, a dazzling light hit his blue eyes, momentarily blinding him. Looking up he saw that the mansion had been decorated by a string of lights, curled upon the garden trees as well as the mansion. This was the custom that had been followed through centuries, by his grandfather and great grandfather, exaggerate and show off if something important happened. In his case, securing the business deal. Switching off the engine of the car, Murat stepped outside in the cold night. It had been four long years since he had been last here.
