My OP Minion System in the Apocalypse - Chapter 231 Evaluation
After providing the new citizens with the things they needed, I headed back to my house. Chloe was with me and she was looking at me in confusion, as if I had done something she wasn’t expecting from me at all. She kept looking at me like that, so finally I asked her, “What’s wrong?”
“What was that? You were so kind to those people. I can’t believe what I just saw. I knew you weren’t going to treat them like slaves, but I also didn’t know you were going to do that.”
“You mean the minion I provided to the old couple?”
“Yeah, I didn’t expect that from you.”
“Well, the old couple is going to die soon and this gesture of mine will make people loyal to me. This is all I was doing at that point.”
“Now I understand, but how do you know the old couple will die soon?”
“I don’t know, but my minion will make sure they get to the other side as soon as possible.”
“What do you mean?” She had many questions in her eyes.
“I meant what you understood. They are a liability. By appointing a minion to take care of them, I will get support from the people but the minion will make sure that my kingdom doesn’t have any liability. Now do you understand, because I don’t have the whole day to teach you about it.”
“So, you’re just going to kill them?”
“No, I won’t, the minion will and it’s all being done for the well-being of this kingdom. I have given them a new place to live. I could have killed them and taken over all their possessions, but I didn’t. So, I can do this, I have done so much that I can do this.”
She nodded and didn’t say anything afterwards. I understood that she wasn’t liking my method, but this is the ultimate method when it comes to life and death for a whole city.
This conversation wasn’t important to me, so I ignored it and focused on the bigger task ahead. I had to create more minions if I wanted to take on the bigger kingdoms. I would have to be prepared for any storm coming my way. I entered my house with all these thoughts and sat on my bed. Then I called for Chloe, when I looked around, she wasn’t there and the door was still open.
I smiled because I understood that my actions had made her angry, but she wouldn’t stay angry for long. I got up and closed the door. I was still smiling while thinking about her and how nice she was to get angry over killing some old slaves.
The people didn’t know, but she and I knew they were slaves and we would dispose of them if we didn’t need them, but her care for the same people felt a little good. I also worried a little that she might go against me, but there was a very little chance of that. By going against me, they would have to join some other king and, as far as I know, all other kings in this kingdom are savages, ready to lay their hands on flesh of any kind.
So, I relaxed a little and lay down on my bed. After some time, I heard a knock on the door and it was the minion manager. He was here with the daily report about the city work and my minions. While going through the report, I saw a problem at one of my outposts.
5 of my archers were missing, I had sent 30 combat minions to every post but one of the outposts only had 25 combat soldiers.
This was quite shocking. I had to investigate this, but couldn’t do that right now. I had a big task ahead.
This outpost was very far in the east, far from any other outpost. I was already in doubt about this outpost, but now I had to investigate it further. I had a network to communicate with the minions nearby, but I didn’t have any method to contact minions so far away.
The only data available was about their lives, whether the minions were alive or not. So, there were 5 fewer minions at one of my outposts. This could be alarming; they might be under attack. This is not a good sign, if that outpost is under attack. The enemy might try to attack my other outposts, which could become a problem in the future.
I allowed the minion manager to go, but his report has put me in doubt. I was attacking other cities and villagers, but here someone has been attacking my minions. I have to take care of it after I am done with the big task tomorrow. I laid back to relax and think about the tasks ahead.
We were going to leave tomorrow early, so before that I will have to figure out the soldiers I have up for the task. I opened up the advance control menu to form an army for tomorrow.

Ah, well, I was still growing, although the casualties taken during the last few battles have stumped my army from growing as much as I had liked. Still, I needed to expand my sphere of influence if I wanted to use everything effectively.
