My OP Minion System in the Apocalypse - Chapter 262 Concern To Exist
The things that he told me brought a huge smile to my face, causing my worries to dissipate into thin air. I had been filled with anxiety, but it turned out there was no reason to be concerned. I asked the man about the next step and he informed me that the next delivery would arrive tomorrow, bringing an equal number of weapons as before. This was cause for concern as I lacked the manpower to properly utilize all of these weapons, especially the crossbows and massive machinery.
I delegated the task of distributing the weapons to the appropriate individuals and instructed the minion manager to securely fasten the weapons onto the walls for safekeeping. The wait for news from the enemy seemed interminable, as two hours had already passed since the army had set out on their mission. Nevertheless, I was finally able to take a step back and relax after thoroughly inspecting the weapons.
The training of the Stage 2 technique variants was still ongoing, with a considerable amount of time still required before they would be fully operational. The resources, however, were gradually increasing. Yesterday, I had successfully recruited a vast number of minions, with even more on the horizon. I needed to bolster my ranks, as I had already dispatched over 500 minions to the front lines of this battle.
With a sense of purpose, I opened the advanced control menu and checked the number of minions at my disposal. To get a clearer picture, I utilized a filter to exclude the minions who had already been sent to the battlefield. The sight that greeted me was both reassuring and inspiring, filling me with confidence and determination as I prepared for the trials ahead.

I was in command of an army of 700 archers and 400 swordsman minions, but I knew that the swordsman minions would be of little use in the upcoming battle, as the enemy was too powerful. However, the silent killers, who were skilled assassins, could be of great help. I had created a plan to defeat the enemy that relied heavily on their abilities, and they had shown effectiveness in previous battles, but unfortunately, we were short on their numbers. I weighed the option of increasing their numbers and putting some of them through intense training before the battle commenced.
Along with the silent killers, I also needed the intelligence variants to operate the war machines, as they were the smartest of all the minions and could perform various tasks efficiently. I only had 30 minions available, with some of them being deployed on other missions. I had only 15 intelligence variants at my disposal, which was a cause of great concern.
Our army was equipped with 15 catapults and 20 ballistae, and over 100 intelligence variants were required to operate these machines effectively. I went to the training grounds where the technique variants were still being trained. I meticulously reviewed the advanced control menu to see if I needed any other minions. I had 2000 warrior minions that could be upgraded to stage 1, but the brute force stage 2 minions were alarmingly low in numbers. To make a meaningful impact in the battle, I would need to increase their numbers.
I immediately started assigning minions to training. I put 600 brute force minions into stage 2 training, with the aim of making them even stronger. I also assigned 1000 warrior minions to the brute force training program, with the hope of increasing their strength. I placed all 15 of my available intelligence variants into stage 2 training, hoping to enhance their already impressive intellect. I then realized that I needed more intelligence variants, so I assigned 150 warrior minions to intelligence variant training. After that, I placed 500 archers into training, as archers were essential for defending the castle and preventing the enemy from reaching the walls. Just as I was about to close the menu, I remembered that we also needed more silent killers, and I quickly put some of the warrior minions into silent killer training to bolster their numbers.
My thoughts were consumed with strategizing and preparing my minions for the impending battle. I knew that I had to make the best use of the resources available to me and lead my minions to victory.
I meticulously placed 100 sword-wielding minions on the Silent Killer training program. I meticulously assigned each and every one of the minions to their respective training sessions, however, we were lacking the necessary resources to train all of them simultaneously. I was instructed to give priority to some of the minions, so I meticulously designated the Stage 2 minions as a priority. Their training would require the most time and effort, and I aimed to have them ready by nightfall. I hoped to receive updates from the settlement by then.
After completing my tasks, I retreated to the house and requested the minion manager to bring me my breakfast. I was feeling incredibly weary, not only in body but in mind, as the stress of the situation was taking its toll.
As I savored my breakfast, my thoughts drifted to Chloe. She was my emotional anchor, providing me with the support I needed to endure these trying times. Her presence had an immense effect on me, so much so that I felt as though I could forget about everything else. However, it was imperative that she remained in the city with the citizens, for her own safety. The enemy that was fast approaching us was brutal, and they wouldn’t rest until either they or their enemies were defeated. So, I steeled myself for the worst, prepared for the possibility that these could be my final days as an underdog, or my final days on this earth.
