My OP Minion System in the Apocalypse - Chapter 281 Heated Confrontation
The battlefield was a cacophony of clashing swords, grunts, and war cries. The sun was beating down on the fighters, and dust was flying everywhere. I had my monocular out, observing the battlefield with intense focus.
The brute force minion was a towering figure, easily towering over his opponents. He was built like a brick wall, and his massive sword was equally impressive. He fought with ferocity, his movements fluid and calculated.
The enemy warriors were nimble, dodging and weaving around the minion’s attacks. They were smaller in stature but no less determined. They knew they were outmatched by the brute force of their opponent, so they used their agility and quick thinking to their advantage.
I watched as the intelligence commander ordered the archers to attack one of the enemy warriors. Dozens of arrows rained down on him, and he fell to the ground, writhing in pain.
I was displeased with this intervention. I had come to observe the fight, not to interfere with it. I called an intelligence variant over to me and instructed them to tell the commander to back off.
I continued to watch as the remaining combatants battled on. The warrior attacked the minion with his sword, his blows raining down on the massive shield of the minion. The brute force minion parried each attack with ease, using his brute strength to overpower the warrior.
Suddenly, the warrior took out a dagger from his armor and lunged at the minion with his other hand. The dagger pierced the minion’s armor, but he managed to deflect the attack with his shield.
As the battle raged on, both fighters were wounded, blood seeping from their wounds. Their attacks began to slow down, and it was clear that their bodies were beginning to give out.
One of them finally fell to the ground, unable to continue the fight. The other kept fighting, refusing to give up despite the odds. It was a true display of strength, determination, and willpower. As the last fighter stood, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of admiration for his bravery and perseverance.
I turned towards the intelligence variant, a small humanoid creature with glowing blue eyes, that was standing near me. Its elongated fingers clutched a small communicator device, which it used to relay my orders to the commander on the hill.
I said with a sense of urgency, “Tell the commander on the hill that I want those two enemy warriors alive. Instruct him to stop the brute force minions from killing them and capture them alive.”
The intelligence variant immediately started communicating with the commander, who relayed the orders to the brute force minions stationed on the battlefield.
I put the monocular back over my eye and saw that the brute force minions had successfully captured the warriors and tied them up. The intelligence minions remained vigilant, scanning the surroundings for any other enemy soldiers who might try to attack.
The magic minions had stopped their attack and had retreated to a safe distance. The brute force minions had taken over the battlefield and were stationed on the open side of the gap. They were skilled warriors, clad in armor and wielding deadly weapons. As the enemy soldiers emerged from the gap, they attacked them with precision and speed, taking them down one by one.
I was so engrossed in watching the battle among the four warriors that I didn’t hear Chloe calling me. She was a fellow warrior, a tall and muscular woman with fiery red hair, and had been observing the battle closely, listening to my orders through the intelligence variant.
Finally, I heard Chloe calling my name, and I turned towards her.
“You were so absorbed in the battle that you weren’t even listening to me,” she said, her voice tinged with irritation.
“Sorry,” I said, turning my attention back to her. “I was just looking at something amazing. I didn’t know what it was, but it was fascinating.”
“Why did you order them to capture those enemy soldiers? I saw the fight, but by the time you ordered the minions to capture them, the battle was over. What was so amazing about it?” she asked.
“The enemies were fighting like savages, without any strategy. But this time, they were using their brains,” I said, my voice filled with admiration.
“What do you mean they were using their minds?”
“They were improvising their moves and changing their fighting strategy mid-fight. They were desperate, and that’s why they were able to do it. They had no way out, so they finally used their brains to fight against the enemy.”
“So, what are you going to do with them?” Chloe asked, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.
“We will interrogate them and gather as much information as possible about their tactics and strategies. This could help us in the future battles,” I said, my mind already racing with the possibilities.
As I looked back at the captured enemy soldiers, I couldn’t help but admire their tenacity and resourcefulness. They were formidable foes, and it was only through our superior training and weaponry that we had managed to defeat them. But their bravery and fighting spirit would always stay with me, a reminder of the true cost of war.
“I am going to kill them as I do with every enemy, but I will check if they are like the other savages from the twin cities or if they are different. I am in doubt that they have beasts inside that can think and have skills like other warriors. If that’s the case, then the fight can get a little tough,” I explained to Chloe, my second-in-command, who was standing beside me on the battlefield.
The sky was dark and cloudy, and the smell of smoke and burning wood filled the air. We had been at war with the twin cities for months, and it had taken a toll on both sides. But now, we had the upper hand.
As we watched the battle unfolding before us, I could see the enemy soldiers struggling. They were outnumbered and outmatched, and it was only a matter of time before they were defeated. But there were two warriors who caught my attention. They fought with skill and determination, and I could see the fire in their eyes.
“These two warriors are different,” I said to Chloe. “I want them captured alive.”
Chloe nodded and reached for her monocular to get a better look at the two warriors. Meanwhile, I watched them closely, trying to assess their strength and skills.
As the battle raged on, the enemy soldiers started to lose ground. Magic minions showered fire down on them from above, while archers attacked from the hills. But the two warriors held their ground, fighting fiercely and refusing to give up.
I could feel my heart racing with excitement. It had been a long time since I had faced a worthy opponent, and these two warriors were giving me a challenge. I wanted to face them in combat and show them the honor they deserved.
But I didn’t tell Chloe this. I knew she was innocent and might not understand the complexities of war. Moreover, if the residents of our city found out that I respected the enemy warriors, it could undermine their faith in our cause.
As the battle drew to a close, the two warriors remained standing, battered and bruised but still fighting. I ordered my army to enter the gap and finish the battle, and soon, the enemy soldiers were defeated.
I had almost achieved enough points to level up, and I could feel the anticipation building inside me. The rewards that came with a level up were significant, and I couldn’t wait to see what they were.
Overall, the battle had been intense and challenging, but we had emerged victorious. And while I had respected the two enemy warriors, I had no doubt that they would not be the last worthy opponents I faced in the war.
