My Queen Of Terra - Chapter 234 REGRETS
Raigon knew it would be hard for him to endure his days without Zoe.
After taking a nap for a little while at the Castle, he checked on the condition of his family before he pressed on in solving the current issues on hand.
He was about to go to the King’s Chamber when the Queen greeted him with a warm smile.
“So how is Azra my dear son? Is he back at Hengcheng?”
She sounded concerned for him, which made Raigon doubt, with all the stories that had been told and her latest actions that prove it.
Still, he is his mother and he still chose to be respectful.
“Not yet, your Majesty. But he will.”
“I’m glad to hear that.” She gave one of her sweetest smiles to him and stepped forward so she could give him a motherly touch.
However, Raigon strutted back as if he did not want to be touched by her.
“What’s the matter, son? I thought we’re already on the same page.”
Queen Rose’s eyebrows knitted together.
To her surprise, Raigon gave him a pained look.
“Don’t you have any regrets of what you’ve done in the past, Queen Mother?”
Queen Rose almost lost his balance, making her wobble. In a fraction of a second, Raigon supported her in his arms and helped her to stand up again.
She narrowed her eyes on him as she thought.
‘What could he have learned about what happened a long time ago? I made sure that no one would know.’
Still she made up her mind to not ruin her good image in front of her son.
“No. If ever I have done something, I know it is for the best. Not only for myself but also for my family.”
‘You don’t have to know the truth. You just have to know my heart for you, my son.’
Queen Rose told Raigon and looked at him as a mother looked at her young child who wanted to know more about adult life.
Raigon’s shoulders dropped down at Queen Rose’s remark, making him realize that it is impossible for him to change her.
“Do you think we as your family would be happy knowing that our happiness is at the expense of others?”
He bowed his head so he could leave. He was not expecting a nice answer anyway.
Now that he has opened up his heart, he believed she would think about her actions from now on.
“Who told you disparaging rumors about me?”
Queen Rose wanted to ask about him and Lady Asha. But she was more curious to know what made him ask her that way.
“I wish they were really just rumors. Still, you don’t have to know. You just have to know my heart towards it, Queen Mother.”
Queen Rose’s fingers flew to her chest. She was flabbergasted that her son would reflect the same thoughts that she has in mind towards him.
She uttered as her chin trembled.
“When I am a parent and I have my own son, I would not do things that would make him disappointed in me. And if I made a mistake of committing such, I would apologize and repent of it.”
He replied, gazing at her in a pained look and then darting his eyes away before bowing down and leaving a stunned Queen.
As he did so, he went straight to the King’s Chamber, thinking of him as a good example of what he had mentioned earlier.
Contrary to his conversation with the Queen, his dialogue with the King seemed to be a lighter one.
“Raigon…” He welcomed him with a pleasant smile.
He was perspiring a lot as he seemed to just come out of a strenuous exercise.
Raigon bowed down to him before asking.
“Will it be alright for you to exert effort like this?”
“Don’t fuss about it. I feel great! And I have a lot of catching up to do.”
He winked at his son as he bent sideward to stretch his body.
Then his countenance became serious as he expressed his gratitude to him.
“I’m glad that it is my son who woke me up from my deep sleep. Thank you for trusting in me. I hope this time I will not fail you and Asha.”
An unconscious smile broke Raigon’s look. It was like a huge boulder had been lifted off his chest.
He bowed down to him. “And thank you for also being a good example to me.”
Then he asked him the same question that he asked the queen.
“Don’t you have any regrets of what you’ve done in the past, Father?”
King Arthur froze at his son’s question as he rubbed his chin.
“I could not say honestly. Though we didn’t end up together, we begot you and your sisters. My only regret is not giving my best to fight for the one I love then.”
Then he tapped Raigon’s shoulders.
“I know you’re already of age and could make decisions for yourself. Go and do what you have to do. And I do what I have to do as well.”
He gave Raigon an encouraging smile.
Raigon nodded his head in joy. He does not just have the approval of just anybody. Nor the consent of the King of Terra. But he has the trust of his own father.
And it was more than enough for him.
