He should have been rejoicing. But he felt empty.

“If Lady Zoe and Lady Erin would be here right now, they would surely jump for joy.”

Azra commented as he was also thinking about the same thing.

Raigon nodded his head in agreement.

At that moment, he envisioned Zoe encircling him in her warm embrace, telling him how she was not disappointed that she placed her trust in him.

‘Did I make a mistake? Should I just ask her to stay amidst all the troubles?’

As he contemplated, he was more determined to not let his emotions sway his long term goal.

They were enjoying their wishful thinking when Queen Rose appeared, having known that her son was back in the Castle.

“I appreciate your efforts to know my perpetrator, your Highness.” She bowed down to him.

“We would only wait for a little while, your Majesty. Everything will be cleared.”

Raigon bowed back to her.

“I apologized for my rash actions, Azra.”

Raigon lifted his head and saw Azra’s face lightened up and bowed to the Queen, hearing the Queen’s personal apology to him.

His lips were about to curve up, seeing everything was going well with Azra after what he went through. But the Queen opened a topic that dumbfounded him.

“Are you now ready for your marriage, my son?”

Raigon’s head tilted down, not as an address, but a downhearted gesture with her sudden question.

“We still haven’t finished solving your case. And the reason for the outbreak is still unknown, Mother.”

He heaved out a sigh as he wondered why she was always pushing for his marriage even when things are still chaotic.

“I just want to remind you that you are not marrying because of convenience. You are the Crowned Prince of this land. Marriage and bearing a son will further establish your claim on the throne.”

She has a point. He almost forgot that the citizens in Terra were still thinking that he was gay and incompetent.

If there were people vying for the throne, he would not be a good candidate.

“I understand, your Majesty.”

If he want to win their trust, he must show that he is able to produce the next heir to the throne.

“Thank you for reminding me, your Majesty. I appreciate it.”

“Then let’s schedule it the soonest. I already have plans for the whole ceremony, you don’t have to think about it.”

Queen Rose clasped her hands in anticipation.

But Raigon seemed to have a different plan than hers.

“I will talk to her about it first.”

Raigon’s head bowed down in respect to her, both as a Queen and as his mother.

“Don’t worry, you will learn to love her once you spend time together. That’s what happened between me and your Father. If you want proof, you can ask him.”

She added before leaving in a jolly mood.

As soon as the Queen left, he immediately went to the Lim Manor.

“Your Highness, what a pleasant surprise.”

Lady Thana bowed down to him in the most graceful way.

Raigon gazed at her and felt bad for her, thinking that if he was another man, he would probably feel in the heavens to be married to this elegant woman.

He tried to work out a casual conversation with her to see if what the Queen said was true.

“How are you?”

Raigon asked her personally as they were the only people in the Lim’s visitor’s lounge at that time.

“I’m fine, your Highness. Thank you for asking. Lady Wiktoria is also back to her old self with the suspect already caught. I can’t believe Lord Azra could do that to the Queen.”

“About that -”

Raigon told her about the recent development on the case.

He was expecting her to be happy that things were getting clearer for the Queen and also her own mother.

But instead, Lady Thana almost lost her balance.

Raigon tried to support her as his hands slid to her back.

Lady Thana’s hands unconsciously flew to his shoulders as she grabbed on him for support.

They were so near to each other that Lady Thana couldn’t help but stare at his soft thin lips which were just right in front of her.

“Your Highness…”

She uttered in a soft whisper.

But to her disappointment, Raigon nonchalantly flipped her back so she could stand up again.

Raigon thought he would somehow feel warm and vulnerable at that moment.

However, nothing changed with his feelings towards her. She was still that little girl whom he used to play with when they were little.

Lady Thana gulped as she closed her parted lips.

Her face was as pink as the carnation flowers around them.

“I- I was just surprised that the royal guards would be involved with this.” She explained herself.

“Me too. Anyway, I am not here to talk about it. I want to talk about marriage.”

Lady Thana’s eyes quickly gazed at him as she inhaled a lungful of air.

“I’m sure you know that our parents wanted us to be betrothed to each other.”

Lady Thana nodded her head slowly as her palm flew to her chest.

“I just want to ask, is that also what you want?”

Lady Thana paused for a few seconds before answering.

“Who wouldn’t want to be married to a Crown Prince?

She flashed her sparkling set of white teeth as if he was asking for the obvious.

“But what if I am not a Crowned Prince. Do you still want me to be your husband?”

Raigon added on, making Lady Thana froze longer than usual.
