My Queen Of Terra - Chapter 243 ***PLS DO NOT OPEN
“Lord Vigo!” They blurted out in unison as they were surprised by the sudden appearance of their head.
“Yes, it is me. I ordered them to put the arsenic in the cupcakes.” Lord Vigo drew in a deep breath and put his hands on his waist.
“But -” Li Xun was about to speak when Raigon shushed him.
“Silence! It is only I who should be blamed.” he glared at Li Xun.
Raigon’s teeth gritted as he watched his shameless confession and his team’s camaraderie in doing this heinous crime.
‘Is he now laying down his own life for these guards? Or is there someone else that he wanted to protect?’
“How could you do this to the Queen? Your own aunt and the wife of you father’s brother?”
Raigon couldn’t help but blurt out in disappointment at Lord Vigo. He was still hoping that he was not the mastermind behind this as he still considers him his cousin.
“It wasn’t supposed to be deadly. But the guard whom I have assigned spilled the whole arsenic on the basket. It was too late when he reported it to me.”
Lord Vigo explained without a trace of guilt in his voice.
“Where is that guard whom you gave instructions to?” His voice bellowed through the cavern.
It is true that a small amount is not lethal and could be used by some as medicine. But a large amount can really kill a person if no immediate medical intervention were done.
Li Xun fell on his feet and responded. “It is I, your Highness! I didn’t mean to kill the Queen! Please have mercy on me.”
It was enough for Raigon to believe that he was indeed the culprit.
“Still, why should you put arsenic on the cupcakes, for goodness sake! And why did you obey him knowing that it is fatal?”
Raigon clutched his fist and controlled himself from adding more blood to the already beaten guard.
“He told me that it was supposed to be medicine, your Highness. And it would honor the Hous if the King would be able to eat it and get well. I admire Lord Azra, that is why I took it. Forgive me, your Highness!”
Li Xun bowed down again to him.
“Wait, the King?!”
Raigon’s eyes widened at the sudden revelation. The cupcakes were meant for Lady Wiktoria and the royal family.
“So it was not intended for the Queen but the King himself?”
Raigon couldn’t take it anymore. He drew out his own sword and pointed it at Lord Vigo’s throat.
“You cunning, merciless monster! That is treason!”‘
Instead of cowering down in fear, Lord Vigo’s face twitched upward.
“I told you, it is just medicine. There’s no harm intended. You can even ask your excellent lady physician about it. Why get so worked up, dear cousin?”
“Do not involve Lady Asha in this. If you really want to treat the King’s ailment, then why not present the medicine to him yourself?”
“Would he believe my good intentions if both of you were so wary towards me? If it is from the Hous he would automatically trust the cupcakes. Is it really my fault that I just want to treat my Uncle and my King even in a conventional manner?”
Lord Vigo answered in a faltering voice, making his royal guards plead for his life.
“Please spare Lord Vigo’s life! If you would kill him, kill us too!”
They chorused in unison with their heads bowed low to the ground, making Lord Vigo grin at Raigon in an annoying manner.
“Whatever you say, the harm is already done. The Queen almost died if she wasn’t treated at once. All of you deserved to be punished and sentenced in the Court.”
Raigon put down his sword and called on a royal guard that was on duty.
“Arrest Lord Vigo!”
Lord Vigo didn’t flinch as the guards put a rope on both his hands.
“Lord Vigo!”
The suspected guards tried to plead for his life but Raigon remained on his stance.
“All of you would remain for a year here in this rotten cell for delaying justice and even trying to cover up the real suspect. In my mercy, I will spare your family. But if you would keep on whining, I might include them with you so you could be together.”
The guards clamped their mouths to prevent another word that could add to the Crowned Prince’s fury.
“Where are you going?” He asked the royal guard who was taking away Lord Vigo.
“I was about to bring him to the cell for the royal family, your Highness.”
“Treason is a serious case in Terra. And since he didn’t consider his blood relation with the King, he doesn’t belong there. He belongs here.”
Now it was Raigon’s turn to grin.
Lord Vigo’s face turned from pallid white to red in anger as his calm demeanor was just crushed by the Crowned Prince.
“I am still a royal family! I haven’t even been investigated yet!”
He furiously yelled as he tried to remove the rope from his hands.
“Now you’ll have a taste of your own medicine.”
Raigon shoved him towards his cell. And it is him who locked the prison bars.
“You won’t get away with this! I owned the military! Duke Andras owned Terra!”
“Do you even hear what you’re saying?” He rubbed his ears as if he wanted to wash them as they were touched by those irritating words.
“There’s your hero. I hope you have learned your lesson by now. After you’re released, choose to be loyal.”
The guards glanced at each other and looked downward.
Raigon shook his head as he left the cavern.
