My Queen Of Terra - Chapter 255 NOT HER
Her eyes darted around the room where she was in and she remained in the King’s Chamber. King Artair was still lying in front of her.
After his successful operation, the King was already transferred back to his room. Erin left with Azra and decided to stay at the Hous. Zoe, being the official doctor of the King, remained in the Castle so she could attend to the King immediately during an emergency crisis.
“Please rest well, your Majesty. I will give the best of my ability so you would get back to your optimum health quickly.”
She bowed to him before leaving the room so she could get things that the King could probably need. To her surprise, Raigon was approaching her from the end of the hallway.
A slow smile curled her lips.
‘Does this mean that we could see each other often?’
As he neared her, Zoe bowed down to him, including the other servants who were guarding the King’s door.
Raigon invited her to come to the veranda of the King’s Chamber. He took a quick look at the King before talking with Zoe.
As they were finally alone, Raigon bowed down to her and spoke.
“Thank you for saving, my father. I owe you a great honor.”
Zoe bowed down but waved her hands and gave him a warm smile.
“There’s no need, your Highness. I am only doing what I’m supposed to do.”
“I thought I would lose you two.”
Raigon responded as he lifted his head and gazed at Zoe. They were at a distance but Raigon was embracing her with his eyes.
Zoe flashed her sparkling set of white teeth as she responded. “I think that will not happen.”
Her response made Raigon smile. However, his eyebrows furrowed as he asked her about her new situation.
“Are you sure you’re alright to be the royal family’s doctor? It means you’ll stay here most of the time. It could be very tiring. I would ask servants to -”
Zoe lifted her hands to stop him. “Don’t sweat. I’m used to this. Besides, I could also check your health and the King every now and then.”
It is true. She felt elated to be near the family of the person that is very special to her heart and be able to help them with her skills. She was used to living alone. And with this situation, she thinks she could somehow have one.
“By the way, I don’t see the Princesses around.”
Zoe peeked down from the veranda and let her eyes roam around the Castle grounds. He has told her before that he has sisters who were both younger than him.
“You will soon meet them.”
Raigon stepped forward, his hands couldn’t resist the urge to put itself around Zoe’s waist. He was also glad that destiny seemed to be drawing his treasured family and woman together.
However, their blissful moment was suddenly interrupted as the corner of Raigon’s eyes caught a storming group heading toward the Meeting Room.
“Stay here. I’ll be right back.” Raigon whispered to her ear before withdrawing gently from her. Zoe opened her eyes and furrowed her brows. But she obliged and bowed down to him before he left.
Meanwhile, the Royal Physicians were meeting with the Royal Council as they disagreed with the idea of Lady Asha being the official physician of the royal family.
“She might have been lucky that she was able to revive the King. But for her to be the official doctor of the King? I think we should think about it first.”
Physician Sheng Tun initiated as he was the one who was taken off his duty.
“Lord Vigo also told me once that Lady Asha’s identity was ambiguous as her name wasn’t on the census.”
Duke Andras opened up as he also agreed that Physician Sheng Tun should not be replaced.
They were in this conversation when Raigon bursted the door open.
“Your Highness!”
They all scurried to fall in line and bowed to him.
“Shouldn’t we just all be glad that the King is finally safe from his imminent expiration? Why are we trying to find a stain on the pure intentions of a person who just tried to help our ruler? Do you rather choose the King to die?!”
Raigon spoke up as one of his hands pressed against his chest. He was hurt that after what Zoe has been through of risking her life for his father, they would think this way about her!
“Forgive us, your Highness. Please spare our lives!” They bowed down to him.
“We were just worried about the King, your Highness. If Lady Asha is not a Terran and she was so close with the King, we could be in more danger!”
Duke Andras explained, making everyone nod their heads in agreement. They all know the forbidden rule especially after the Great Bloodbath that took place fifteen years ago.
Raigon froze for a few seconds. He was not expecting her identity would be raised this quickly. He was hoping he could buy more time so he could know how she could be accepted once they find out the truth.
‘Would they stop finding fault in her as long as she is the royal family’s doctor? What if they find out her true identity? Will they banish her from this land?’
He contemplated as the royal physicians and council continued to argue among themselves as to who is right or wrong.
