My Second Life in Another World - Chapter 419: Are You Certain?
“I see, keep a close eye on their movements,” Queresha said, it was far from over with just this.
‘I won’t let you two become a nuisance,’ She was sure that these two would get in the way, and there were many like them around as well, that is why this whole plan was made.
“How is the data collection going on the stats and skills so far?” This was one of the important tasks that was the by-product of this plan.
Getting accurate information about the stats of the people in their group, they were basically getting it unofficially, since it was a sensitive topic if asked directly.
“It is going smoothly so far, though I would say that we still can’t get accurate numbers and some people might be hiding their skills, but we can estimate and sort out the members into tiers for now,” Mi-na was still working on that plan, “Please give our thanks to Kanae-ssi, it had made it easier for us to work and add more information.” this was only happening thanks to Kanae, who provided them a rough chart about the human abilities corresponding to the stats level.
‘Yes, that was a good move indeed,’ Queresha knew about it, because she was the one who asked Kanae to work on it from the start with her group.
And with Kanae’s group who was very loyal to her, worked properly to get a rough scaling system in order as their stats rose.
“I will pass on your thanks,” Queresha knew that it was hard for everyone to meet at the moment, because of how much work there was to be done. So, she would pass on the thanks later.
‘Getting a hand on personal skills and supporting constellations will take time,’ Queresha knew that this was still far from done with just this much.
“Keep an eye on people with high stats who aren’t part of a bigger collective group yet,” Queresha ordered and Mi-na nodded.
And that was all for her…
“How did your work go Min-hyuk?” She turned to the guy, who had been silently listening this far.
“Oh, It worked out well,” Min-hyuk seemed like he had just come out of his daze, “It was a good idea to use that overconfident idiot, I’ve had quite a few inquiries regarding this work already.”
“I see, but it is still far from enough now, I’ll work with the new group and have them cooperate with this endeavor,” Queresha said and Min-hyuk looked a little on edge about that.
And this wasn’t because he didn’t want others to work on this with him, no in a sense that was true…
“I think that… it would be better if I do it myself, the plans can leak and…. they are untrustworthy,” He didn’t seem on board for the correct reasons but…
‘Don’t you just want to get all of the praise?’ Mi-na knew what this guy was up to, she knew that this guy was competent, ‘Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to hold out this area as the base.’ Min-hyuk was the guy, who had kept this area as his base during the scenario, but it changed as soon as Queresha made her move from Chung-muro.
Mi-na didn’t know how that worked, since Min-hyuk supposedly just joined the group with his group without any problems, but now she understood what it was….
‘But that isn’t going to work with her.’ She knew that Queresha wasn’t the type to get anything in between her work, not even feelings or friendships.
If you work under her, you need to follow her without expecting any special treatment.
“It will take too much time if I leave it to you alone,” Queresha said flatly and the main reason for this plan was, “we can’t take our time with this, those good for nothings will only get worse if do.” She didn’t care for Min-hyuk’s feelings of wanting to impress her.
All she wanted was for this plan to go through properly, that is just how Queresha worked.
‘It is a straightforward attitude with no room for refusal,’ Mi-na had understood that after just talking to her once.
But it wasn’t like Queresha wasn’t the type to give people chances to prove themselves, it was just that this plan was as she had said, important. That is why delaying it wasn’t ideal.
Why?
“Even if there are people in the group who are working to get their lives going, there are still people who do nothing and live off the free meals that we are providing,” Queresha didnt care for the free meals, and she didn’t care how those people lived their lives.
The only she mentioned it now was, there were implications if she left it alone.
“Why don’t we just cut the free meals then?” Min-hyuk didn’t like that this was troubling the group so much, or more like troubling Queresha, so he proposed a simple answer.
“We can’t do that as there are people who actually need it,” Queresha knew that because the jobs system was just established, it left a lot to be desired since a lot of the group members were in a wait-and-see position at the moment.
Among them, there were even people who couldn’t do anything because of injuries from before, so free food was necessary for them for now.
Not to mention, that this has worked, more and more people have started to join in, after seeing other’s lifestyles improving.
‘But it is mostly for people who still have their family, or part of it left,’ Mi-na had been checking the information for this before she was moved to the new project.
But some people were taking advantage of this, and they will continue to do so, since they don’t want to do any work.
How do they know?
“Even if we try to give them easy work where no danger is involved, they don’t take it because there is no need for them to do that,” Queresha said and the two in front of her nodded, they were the ones who worked on that plan as well before the new one was made.
“They want to do things the easy way, and having such a group of people is not good for us, they can become liabilities later on if a hostile force wants to come into the group,” Queresha continued to explain, this was the main reason for her to go through the trouble of making the jobs system, and the current plan.
‘We can handle it on the spot, but that will cause more harm in the long run,’ That is Queresha was trying to prevent such situations from happening, and to do that she needed to erase the root cause.
“If we throw them out it will cause disruption in the group and will even lower our image, not to mention that they can go to other groups and sell information. They are basically ticking timebombs,” Mi-na said and Queresha nodded in agreement.
It may seem far-fetched, but she was not in the mood to let this problem slide, since the longer they delayed it the worse it would become later on.
Which is why, she wanted to end that right now.
“Your job is to gather these people, the ones who want to make easy money through the system in place,” Queresha turned to Min-hyuk, “That is why you need to get a considerable number of people that you help on your own at first, they’ll start to gather around you on their own, to know how you do that.”
This is why he needed help from the new group who were unknown faces, because it would take him a considerable amount of time if he had to do that on his own.
But with the new group, they could get them involved, and the news about him will spread, because he would make a good amount of coins with it.
And these people would be attracted to him to also get a piece of the pie.
“I see, so I’ll give them the targets that I’ve got through my connections to the management at first,” Min-hyuk looked at Mi-na who nodded in affirmation, “And get a cut of the reward from them?”
“Yes, you also need to get a cut of the coins they get from the constellations, it will be a tough job,” Queresha mentioned this since there were a lot of constellations who enjoyed this type of betrayal and malicious content.
She knew that it was a possibility but now she was certain of it. The reason she was so certain was simple. But there was another thing she needed to ask.
“Are you certain about taking it on?” she didnt want him to fold in the middle since it would do nothing but create trouble.
“I am, and I have also passed all of the coins I made with today’s act, I also gave back the reward so that it can be reused in the future, and I will continue to do this,” Min-hyuk said with an expectant look, he wanted something for this and…
“The thought is much appreciated,” Queresha nodded and it made this guy happy, a lot happier than what those words should have.
…
Do we have any people like Min-hyuk out here?
