- Chapter 441: 441 Even if I die, she wouldn't.
The ether-charged claws reached for her head. Yet, there was not a single shred of fear in her.
“Converge.” Before the word left her lips a pillar of purple lightning dropped on Yoo-sung.
“AAAarrrrgggh!” Hee-won felt the pain in that beastly scream. Yoo-sung fell to the ground as Queresha stood up.
‘My Body… it won’t move…’ The Beast Lord gritted her teeth as Lightning coursed through her muscles making her immobile.
She had a bad feeling about this lightning from the start, which is why she dodged it this whole time. This time too, she jumped back to avoid it.
‘But it changed directions.’ Yoo-sung glared at Queresha. She played her well with this trick, this would slow her down for a good few seconds.
And in a battle such as this, those few seconds were fatal. Even if they were far weaker in strength and skills. In her current state, she could be killed. Yet, no attacks came for her with that intent.
“Why? Why are you not finishing this?” Yoo-sung couldn’t understand.
Why did they have to prolong this? What was the point?
“I already told you.” But she wouldn’t be allowed to die like that.
Yoo-sung gritted her teeth. Once again she was being forced into something she did not want to do.
“Then I’ll kill you all!” She rushed Queresha as soon as the lightning’s effect wore off.
“He-!” Hee-won stopped mid-charge because another bolt of lightning struck the Beast Lord. And she was stopped once again, it didn’t matter if she ran around the lightning would follow her and strike her.
‘There is something in my fur that is attracting them and leads the lightning into my body.’ After being struck a few more times, Yoo-sung understood the problem.
“It doesn’t matter how much you struggle unless you can crack the magic circle. You will not be able to touch someone, much less kill them.” Queresha didn’t randomly throw those unthreatening Spears of Darkness in the middle of the fight.
She used it to etch a magic formula onto Yoo-sung that allowed the lightning to home in on her. And when the circle was complete and she didn’t see any other way, Queresha didn’t hesitate to activate her last plan.
‘I have to get them off!’ Yoo-sung felt twenty of these small particles on her body. But the moment she tried to get one off her abdomen, she was struck by a pillar of lightning.
“Graaaaa!” The agonizing pain spread through her body, and that particle was back to its original location.
“If you do not get the sequence right in one go, you will be punished. So, I would suggest that you stay put, because all you are doing is torturing yourself.” Queresha wouldn’t keep this as her last card unless it could bring victory.
With twenty particles, there were over a million possible sequences and she would be subjected to intense pain if you get it wrong. To remember every try through that mind-numbing pain wasn’t possible. No one would want to go through something like that. It was a pointless and grueling thing to put oneself through. To the point that even some constellations felt sorry for Yoo-sung who was subjected to this.
“You think this would …stop me?” But Yoo-sung laughed. This pain was nothing compared to what she went through.
Everyone on the battlefield could see the flashes of Lightning in the middle of the Han River. It made them question who was it that unleashed such attacks. But, most of them would never know what happened there.
‘What am I watching?’ Hee-won didn’t expect Yoo-sung to do this. She didn’t stop. And they have lost count of the number of times she failed.
‘She has already done it 546,986 times.’ Yet, there was no stopping her. It looked no, it was painful enough to make Hee-won wince for Yoo-sung. But, she continued under Queresha’s gaze.
And the important question was, since when did this become the plan?
“She didn’t tell me about this either,” Kanae muttered.
“Well, we all know she likes to do things behind everyone’s back.” Hae-in stood next to her with a smile. Because Yoo-sung’s focus is disrupted the Monster Gates closed, and the pressure on other incarnations eased up.
“The way you say it sounds highly inappropriate.” Kanae narrowed her eyes, but she got a mischievous smirk in return.
“I said something perfectly normal, yet you think that it is lewd? Isn’t that a ‘you’ problem?” She wriggled her eyebrows as nerves popped on Kanae’s forehead.
“I’ll punch your tooth out!” She never said anything about lewd, so why did she have to bring it up?
“Huhu, it’s a joke… unless you were really thinking about it and got embarrassed that I guessed it right? Woah! you really were serious!” Hae-in dodged a punch to the face and hid behind Hee-won.
“Hey don’t make me a shield!” She protested but thankfully Kanae didn’t follow through. Instead, she stomped away.
“Safe.” Hae-in laughed.
“Don’t you think it would be better to not tease her?” Hee-won wouldn’t want to receive that punch for sure.
“Don’t worry, she only threw that because I can dodge it.” Hae-in waved it off with a smile.
‘What are you a matador?’ Hee-won didn’t know how this worked and decided that it was better that she didn’t.
“She’s a tough one, huh.” Hae-in turned towards Yoo-sung, she was still trying and she wished for her to stop.
“Yeah, I don’t think she will listen to us.” Hee-won didn’t see this end well. Yoo-sung seemed way too focused on her goal.
“if Haru was here we would’ve had an easier time. He’d have seduced her in no time.” Hae-In smirked at her words because as funny and nonsensical as the situation sounded. It could’ve happened with him involved.
“But, don’t you think we should focus on another missing guy?” Hee-won nodded.
‘Come to think of it where did he go?’ She was preoccupied with the battle to notice. Jung-hyuk went missing a while back. But not for long, and the first one to notice his return was the Beast lord herself.
Jung-hyuk walked over with Dok-ja, and with them were two kids. She knew one of them very well.
“So you… came back with my younger version, huh? Was this your plan?” Her mind was clouded by the continuous pain. No matter how many times she tried, the magic sequence was never right.
‘Those lightning strikes were landing on her?’ Dok-ja’s eyes widened when he saw the blood flowing from the corners of her lips.
‘She is bit her tongue to hold onto her consciousness. It doesn’t look like that lightning does actual damage.’ Jung-hyuk turned to Queresha but she ignored him.
Something else had irked her for a while now.
“We aren’t going to do that, if you admit defeat things would end without any lives being lost.” She spoke to Yoo-sung.
“Haha, I see. So, that is why you were doing this? You fear that she will die with me right?” The Beast lord laughed.
They did not want the younger Yoo-sung of the present to die when she, the future version died. Otherwise, they wouldn’t go through so much trouble. It all made sense.
‘Yeah, they are the same. Exactly the same,’ Yoo-sung gritted her teeth.
Yoo Jung-hyuk was able to kill the Future Beast Lord in the timeline she joined his team. In her younger form, she saw the Beast lord die in cold blood, that man asked no questions as soon as he understood something. He showed no form of sympathy or regret for the pain he sent her through.
“Even if I die, she wouldn’t.”
