My Second Life in Another World - Chapter 443: Sub-Scenario
[What nonsense is he spouting this time?] Hee-won frowned.
[Is it too hard for your little brains? Alright then, let me explain to you in a way your primitive brains can understand.] Paul cleared his throat as his lips twisted into a grin, [The Constellations do not want to see this soap opera you have going on.]
[But we did not break any rules of the scenario.] Kanae’s frown showed her current mood. If the constellations complain because they didn’t like things, then what did the scenarios even mean?
[Just because a few constellations showed a little sympathy for you all, you seem to have forgotten the very reason these scenarios exist.] Paul clicked his tongue as a wall of messages from the constellations appeared in the sky.
[If the way you complete these scenarios isn’t stimulating enough, then we can simply turn things around and make them fun.]
Hundreds of messages from Constellations flashed through the screen, a few of them appeared confused as to what the problem was, but their words got drowned by the majority.
The Incarnations of Seoul Dome were silent. At first, they thought there may only be a few bad apples in the Constellation group.
‘But now things are different.’ Haru scratched his chin. This wasn’t limited to the Constellations alone.
[Do not forget that you are mere pawns on this chessboard. And you can never be more than that.] With a snap of his finger, the docile Yoo-sung jumped to her feet.
[GRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!] The war cry shook the earth as thousands of Monsters jumped out of the massive gates and restarted their rampage.
Haru stayed silent, his eyes focused on the screen. Yoo-sung now attacked with no sense of her surroundings or mercy. Consumed by madness she swung wildly, no she was forced into that state by Paul.
‘I didn’t expect them to have that amount of control over the future Yoo-sung.’ But, this wasn’t where his problems ended.
[Haru she isn’t the Future Shin Yoo-Sung.] His eyes widened as Kurumi continued, [Because of your existence the Dreamer’s gaze landed on this timeline and he saw the truth. The older Yoo-sung is from the past timeline, so if she dies the younger one who is now the future, would die too.]
‘When it rains it pours, huh.’ He pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Why are you silent all of a sudden?” Do-Gak enjoyed his reaction.
“Why don’t you worry about your own hide?” Haru said.
“Getting grumpy are we?” However, it didn’t affect him.
Now that his prey became agitated this was the moment to drive him into the corner.
“But this is nothing compared to what is about to happen.” As expected, Haru’s startled gaze landed on him.
“You want to know?” Do-Gak’s lips twisted into a grin. What choice did he have now?
Not only did his plans crumble, but now another unknown threat loomed over his group’s head. That is if they survive the crazed Yoo-sung.
“What do you want?” Haru asked.
‘Hook, line, and sinker,’ Do-Gak didn’t bother hiding his joy which manifested in the form of maniacal laughter. This bastard Incarnation gave him so much trouble, but now he was in his place.
‘I’ll be sure to enjoy this meal.’ He stared at Haru.
“Why should I tell you—?”
“How about a deal?” Haru cut straight to the point.
“Heh. Looks like you still haven’t learned your lesson.” However, Do-gak didn’t mind this. Him having hope made it ten times better.
“You interested or not?” Haru pushed.
“It depends on what you put on the line.”
“Don’t worry I’ll match you.” He smiled at those words.
‘Every last bit of hope you have will get crushed this time.’ Paul had already cast the die and it was six on his side.
He had prepared everything and the bureau agreed to his proposal. No matter where he saw it from. Do-Gak had zero chances of losing.
.
.
.
Na-Deul Island, Seoul Dome, Seoul, South Korea.
The small peace that returned to this flattened land got lost even faster.
“We have to stop her here!” Hee-won clashed with the crazed Yoo-sung.
“She’ll rip people apart in this state,” Hae-in grunted.
The strongest in Seoul Dome gathered here, and they barely held her back.
The strength in her attacks rose to the next level, Paul had full control over her and she wasn’t responding to any words from them. Each of her attacks was like an explosion that left craters.
Their swords got blocked by the claws and the burst of ether threw them back. Yoo-sung rushed towards Queresha, but two more swords blocked her path.
“Why isn’t the lightning working on her?” Dok-ja gritted his teeth at the heavy blow. As Jung-Hyuk stood his ground in silence.
“It is working, but she is ignoring the pain.” Queresha held the younger Yoo-sung and rushed back. A small frown formed on her fair forehead when she saw Paul smirking.
‘How much longer can he keep this up?’ She didn’t know but if things went like this, Queresha would have to make a choice.
It was between Yoo-sung or them. The one she’d choose was clear.
“Go Titano!” Gil-Young pushed with the strongest insect under his command to give Dok-ja more breathing room.
But no matter what they did nothing was getting through to Yoo-sung as soon as she got covered in the black aura.
‘To think that bastard would use the scenario contract and change the ownership to himself.’ Dok-ja frowned. Things were working out perfectly, but that wasn’t what the constellations wanted.
They wanted the incarnations to put up an entertaining performance. The silent majority of the Star stream only watched the scenarios for entertainment rather than hunting for possible incarnations. They had no problem with other constellation’s incarnations dying. Instead, they actively pushed for that bad ending.
[Stop… I don’t want to… not anymore…] Hearing Yoo-sung’s thoughts squeezed his heart.
The one who went through the most pain in this situation was her. To the end, she couldn’t get her freedom. And exactly what the Constellations aimed for. They wanted her to die at the hands of people who tried to save her.
“Do you think we can win?” Jung-hyuk’s question shook him out of his thoughts.
“If we hold on long enough that Dokkaebi will get struck down by the Bureau for interfering this time. This is a second offense too. Then there is the case with Haru-ssi which is a much bigger offense. The Bureau will send someone for sure.” Dok-Ja said but there was no change in Jung-Hyuk’s expression.
“Don’t run around in circles.” His words were sharp as ever as he continued, “Tell me if you can see us win this.”
[The Incarnation ‘Yoo Jung-hyuk’ has activated his skill Lie Detection lv. 6.]
‘This guy…’ Dok-ja understood that this was a test.
He wanted to say that they’d win. But he wasn’t sure and the words would get registered as false. If that happened the first one that Jung-Hyuk would kill was him.
‘This is what I have brought upon myself by lying I guess.’ As Dok-ja prepared his answer the dark Seoul Dome lit up.
And it wasn’t because the sun shined on them. A pillar of flame rose in the east. They could feel the heat from here and it made their hair stand on end.
‘What? How? I’ve dealt with that Disaster already…’
“The Fire Dragon?” Jung-Hyuk’s mutter broke Dok-ja out of his trance as the scenario window appeared before him.
