My Stubborn Mistress - Chapter 389 Somewhere, Trapped In Time
Lawrence Mansion
Kaye opens the library door and steps inside. In her left hand is a coffee she made for her husband. “Darling, what’s the matter?”
She notices that her husband is actually not paying attention to the paper in front of him. She placed the coffee on the table and then walked around the single couch and began pressing her husband’s tense muscles on the shoulder.
Andrew lifts his chin. Hearing his wife’s voice, he quickly put down the documents he tried to read. “Kaye…”
“Is everything all right?” she asked curiously. She knows everything about the Young’s and the Kangs, and so she has an assumption that Shun’s surprising visit related to them. “Does he know already?”
“I am just worried about something,” he answered.
“Isn’t you and Quinn, I mean Shun had a talked? Have you revealed everything to him already?”
Andrew shook his head. “No. I can’t have the grasp to unveil the truth to him. He’s still not quite ready.”
“Then, you haven’t told him yet, if how the Young’s died?”
“If I told him that, I don’t think he would think straight by then. He might do something that compromises his objective. So I am just taking this opportunity, that all he thinks right now is to find Landon’s daughter, and he did not question further.”
“Maybe it is the right thing to do, for now. But in the near future, they have to know the whole truth…”
Andrew grabbed his wife’s hand. “Yes. And I will watch them over as I promised. I will help them with all I can.”
Kaye nodded. “All right, darling. I have a meeting with our new sponsors. I am happy that more people reaching to support the charity.”
“It’s because you work hard to help anyone that needed voices. And you are a good person. There is always grace to come.” Andrew complimented his wife.
This is truly what he falls in love with his wife. She is a strong-willed lady, and she never changes but even became a great woman as decades pass by. Her belief and strength made her even remarkable to everybody that meets her.
Kaye giggles while place a kiss on her husband’s cheek. “Stop bluffing me, Attorney Andrew Lawrence. I am already your wife. I’ll buy any compliments you’ll throw at me.”
And this made Andrew chuckles before he pulled his wife to sit on his lap, and then kissed her. Outside the door are their sons: Karl, Matt, David and Dylan who’s about to knock, but then hearing their parents behaving like teenagers. They wanted to ask their father if Quinn or now known as Shun has important business with him.
The four brothers looked at each other and then retreated; goes back to the living room where the girls had a chit-chat.
Once Kaye gets out of the room, Andrew picks up his phone and makes an international call.
“Hello, Mr. Leroy? This is Attorney Andrew Lawrence. Can I talk to the Chairman? Thank you.” Andrew waited for a moment, then Nicholas spoke up in the other line.
“Chairman Crow… Shun has just left. Yes, he began seeking the truth. No. I did not reveal everything to him yet. I know that. Yes, I understood, Chairman.” Andrew’s conversation with Chairman Nicholas Crow.
“I want to see what he will work on.” Nicholas’s remarks to him. “Let him be.”
“All right, Chairman Crow. I see your point clearly.”
“I am doing this for his own good until he is capable to achieve everything.”
“You won’t abandon him, do you?”
“If I am, then I won’t force him to carry my name. All is in his hands. In fact, I am actually giving him a free will.”
Andrew and Nicholas exchange words a little more before they end the call.
“Goodbye, Chairman.”
Andrew presses the end call button then places down his phone on the table. Pressing his back on the chair, he heaves a long sighed.
“Good luck Quinn.”

A knocked on his office door. Leroy entered the room.
“Chairman, the Young Master has arrived and wish to see you.”
“Let him come in,” Nicholas commanded.
Leroy bowed, then leave the office. Shun who’s waiting impatiently in the lounge, is restless on his seat. He then quickly sat up the moment he saw the butler coming out from Nicholas’s office.
“Butler Leroy?”
“You can enter now, Young Master.”
“Thank you, butler Leroy.” Shun thanked him and the old butler partly bowed. He made a gradual step toward the room and halted two meters away from the Chairman’s table.
“Chairman Crow…” Shun began.
“Is that how you address your adopted father?”
“We are in the office,” his defense.
The chairman lifted his head. Putting back the pen on his vintage double pen stand, he keenly peers at his nephew. “All right. What do you want?”
“Give me the power that you have.”
Scowling at him, Nicholas laughs echoed the entire room after a long moment. “And why should I?” his gaze sharpened.
“You want someone to continue your legacy? Then put me on top of the world, and I will do whatever you required me to do.”
Nicholas is about to open his mouth, but Shun proceeded.
“But there is one thing in return. Allow me to use this power to bring justice to my family.”
Fascinated, but Nicholas questioned him in a serious tone. “Which family do you point out? Aren’t I am your family too?”
“When someone does wrongs to you, thus I will make them pay off. But in my present stand, I can do nothing to protect you, nor the people I would want to, Chairman Crow.”
Another laugh breaks out from Nicholas’s mouth. Showing, he was particularly pleased with everything he heard from his nephew. “Hmm… It looks like you are truly determined this time.”
“All right, don’t be too formal. We rarely see each other as you barely go home, or I was overseas maybe. Your Aunt Larah misses you.”
Puzzled, but Shun remains calm and stays earnestly. He watched Nicholas sit up from his armchair and stride closer to him. The chairman in his early sixties, he’s yet in perfect posture and still looking younger.
“I am sorry, Uncle Nicholas. Did I disappoint you in these passing years?”
“The truth is, no. I watch you closely. Regardless of how you live like a dead man, however, I believe you hold something that gives you the strength to live on each day.”
Shun ponders with Nicholas’ words. There is nothing he holds on but his memories with Cassandra.
“We have no difference, Quinn Williams. My wife is my life. And it is painful to watch how her life slowly fading away
But nothing she wishes but for you to be happy. I promise her to support you in anything.” Nicholas added.
“Come, let us take a seat.” Nicholas brought Shun toward the sofas and settled.
“Now, tell me what exactly do you want to happen.”
Shun lay all his proposals to the Chairman. Listening closely, he asked. “Then, which one do you like to take over?”
“I want the Empire Dragon Hotel in Mainland as our main office in Asia.”
“Hmm… have you aware of what is happening in that hotel?”
Shun nodded. “Give me the probability to take control of that city and so on, the whole country. As long as you back me up and grant me the authority of the Alliance, I won’t only take over Asia but also the world.”
Nicholas laughed. “Have you known that you will be going to smash your head it is not just a simple wall, a huge barrier but everyone who wants my seat?”
“I am fully aware of, Uncle Nicholas. So let them be my prey.”
